After initial setup, logging into my phone should be enough proof that I am me. I did NOT link my Fitbit account to anything financial or my identity. This is a royal screw up.

It is 4 days later, and it looks like Fitbit has chosen to pound sand.

I am not surprised.

Definitely not resolved for me. Now logging out at least twice a day since the last update, only once a day before! Very fed up with this. Please sort this out asap

Me too. Driving me crackers.

This must have been going on for 6 months now, if not more.

Hi, I still have the same issue and I'm on version 2.44.2 (739).  The app auto logs me out, even if I don't physically close the app on my iPhone.  It's really frustrating.   Is there a fix yet on this?

Best Answer

Not that I’m aware MissChilli. I’ve been suffering from this for months and it has improved slightly as it’s not every time I log on now, but usually once per day, it has just resulted in me paying my Fitbit less attention, so it has lost its motivational ability and has become a record keeper for my self motivated willpower.

Be happy you only need to login. I had to replace my Surge and the
replacement won’t connect to my iPhone. Fitbit egineers can’t seem to
resolve the issue and told me to find an android or Windows phone. They
have become an useless joke.

Interesting.

so it is only the Apple iPhone / iPad having problems.

Seeing how Apple have recently been caught deliberately slowing down older machines, would they stoop as low as to throw a spanner in the works of other fitness bands to promote the Apple Watch??

I agree Grishnak, it does decrease the motivation to track if you have to keep having to logon.  But sounds like others are having more troublesome issues (ie RefRon).  Not great FitBit, you could lose at lot of customers if you don't get this sorted PDQ!

I agree - that is really bad customer service - have you thought about another kind of device.  Personally I would prefer to keep my iPhone and move to another fitness tracker!

I tweeted the Fitbit Support team earlier and was told that "this is a known issue and our site team is working to correct it.  We apologize for the inconvenience and hope to have things back to normal very soon".

I am happy with the Fitbit when all is ticking along fine and I am no conspiracy theorist, but I am now feeling suspicious of Apple considering recent behaviour on their part.

Something needs to be sorted though.

It happened after Fitbit did an update. Then it requires a login which is an app issue, not operating system

Hope so Eric, though I know when I would throw my spanner to avoid suspicion

I can tell them what resolved the problem for me, why some no longer have the problem, and some do.

Hi eye95,

Could you tell us as well? If you know why not post it here? Would be helpful to myself and the rest who haven’t been able to solve it... 🙂

Raukar, you took the words out of my mouth

Around januari 14th the problem was indeed gone for a few days. Hence i start to suspect its a server issue and an app problem.

For a big company that can’t solve such a big issue for months this is really bad news. Looking for alternative products..

They have removed my post that you quoted and the post where I offered you the solution that worked for me. I just won’t share the solution here. This post will probably not last long. (Their hostility in this regard is one reason that I am getting rid of my Fitbit in favor of Apple Watch. I just got my iPhone.)

Contact me on Twitter. I am easy to find. I will share what I found through direct message on Twitter only.
