Having this problem as well starting in the last couple days.  This is on a new iPhone X that I've had since Nov. 3rd, setup via a restored backup, and it worked fine all last week.  It literally randomly just started happening daily the last couple days.  I tried an uninstall/reinstall of the app tonight so we'll see if that helps.  I figured it was a bug in iOS 11 or the new iPhones but apparently after finding this thread this is not a new issue.

Imho this issue only appears if you have the fitbit application launched or
started when connected to a WIFI/3G networks that requires a login page
first (like in hotels, wifi for guest settings etc.)

I systematically have the issue when travelling but never at home.

It happens to me at home all the time.

Can you try when deactivating the continuous background sync of the fitbit
app? I had to disable it on my side due to the drain of the One device
battery with that option since August ...and I am not facing frequently the
disconnect option: only when connecting to guest WIFI networks.

I have had this same very annoying problem of having to log back into the app every day with iPhone 7, iOS 11. Just updated to version 2.43. Hope this is the final fix.

Are you talking about the All-day sync feature? I've always had that turned off.

@KateFitbit

Does version 2.43 fix the problem of having to keep logging in?

@KateFitbit adding some technical context to the problem and attempted fixes might help mitigate the growing concern that (a) the problem is not really being taken seriously or (b) the team is not capable of truly identifying and solving the problem.  Three months and many client releases is a surprisingly long time for such a basic auth issue to continue to exist.

Same here. Version 2.43 still logs me out every few days. Using an iPhone 6 with latest iOS 11 updates installed. Really annoying and totally unnecessary from a security perspective...

Oh, and while fitbit is at it, at least try to implement support for 1Password, so having to login again is a bit less tedious.

It would be fantastic if it would also support touch login!

Happens to me all the time, Both at Home and at work on the BYOD network which automatically connect. Haven’t been able to pin this down to a single cause and from reading the thread it is not tied down to any particular model of phone...

I've not been logged out for the last couple of days (probably just jinxed myself) but in these last few days I've checked my app a bit more regularly.  I found that when I was being logged out, were the days I wasn't checking the app.  The bottom line is that it shouldn't chuck you but wonder if there is correlation between how often you use it.  Any views from other users who are experiencing the same issue?

I am going to buy an Apple Watch this week-end. I am sick and tired of constantly having to log in to FitBit. I have been a loyal FitBit user for years but now I quit.

I am seriously considering doing the same. Fortunately I have 2
photography classes this weekend to keep me out of the stores, but maybe
next week on Black Friday. 🙂

I love my Fitbit but I HATE having to login every time I Sync.  So how do your sales team think they can sell me a £300 new item when the £100 item I own doesn’t work as it should?
