Cannot full %BF in weight log

Hey there, the latest IOS update seems to have reduced the number of digits permitted under fat percentage.  Can this be restored?  It may not be perfectly accurate, but my scale display fat percentage up to a tenth, so I need four digits (including the decimal).  Thanks!

Hello @morsel and a warm welcome.  I am trying to picture what you are seeing in my mind.  I am kind of stumped.  Part of the reason I am stumped is that my %BF display is normal in the app.

Could you post a screenshot of what you are seeing?

Hello! I can’t type anything beyond the 15 below. That was not the case before the last update.

@morsel   Exactly what I needed.  So, for you, the decimal point is not active.  It is active for me and I am sorry you are having this problem.

When you say update, are you referring to an iOS update or a Fitbit app update?

My troubleshooting steps are the following:

  • Delete the app
  • Restart my phone
  • Re-download the app

If this doesn't fix your problem, please provide the following information:

  • iPhone model
  • iOS version
  • Fitbit app version

For example, I have an iPhone 6s, running iOS 13.2.3, Fitbit app v.3.10.  If my suggestion doesn't help, I will bump this up to a higher level.

My husband has the same issue - different phone, same app version.  And it was the Fitbit app.  I'm still on IOS 12.4.1.

One more thing:  I'm on Fitbit app 3.11.  You were testing in 3.10.  I believe that 3.11 is what is causing my issue.

Best Answer

@morsel   I have full access to that field.  I tried to download v3.11 from the App Store.  I couldn't get it.  That doesn't surprise me.  App rollouts are often progressive.

I noticed that another user voted for your post.  Since you were able to trace this to the app version, I will report it as a new bug.

Also, can change the title of your post to something like "Cannot enter %BF in Weight Log"?  It is a better description of the problem and I can't edit your title.

Ok. I changed the subject. Thanks!

Hi everyone. Thanks have the old aria scale that won’t connect to the internet so I manually input weight and body fat percentage each day. For the last two days, in the app itself, body fat percentage won’t let me add a decimal point. Any ideas why?

Thank you for coming to the community with your question. Im experiencing the same issue since updating to the newest Fitbit App Version 3.11. I did note that your question is the same being discussed in another thread and has been reported as an issue. Hi there. Thanks for bringing me to the conversation. I’m running app version 3.11 on an iPhone 11. My IOS version is 13.2.3. Knowing this, how can we fix the problem?  I have deleted and reinstalled the app with no success. Thanks!

I was told this would be reported as an app bug.  I hope they do!

I'm having a similar issue as of a couple of days ago.  I can no longer press the decimal point in the body fat field of the app.  I'm on version 3.11 (908) according to the Help screen in the app.

After setting your weight, you can input you BFP: until last week, you could add a decimal value (eg 20.3), actually only integer values work and point/comma key doesn’t work, so you can insert just 20.

@atmb82   Several other users described the same problem.  They trace it to Fitbit app v 3.11.  I reported it as a bug.  My phone still has v 3.10 and I do not have this problem.

That’s the problem. I want to be inputting decimals and it makes no sense that you can’t with the latest version of the app. I sure hope they fix this soon!

Same issue here. iPhone x on iOS 13.2.3

Hello @morsel@Cat1085@Mike_Schiemann and @atmb82

Just an update...I too was experiencing this issue since the 3.11 Fitbit App update. (I’m currently iOS 13.2.3 as well) I went to input my weight this morning and suddenly I’m able to place decimal points again. I do recall that I did restart my iOS device yesterday. I’m not sure if that resolved the problem but I just wanted everyone to know. MAYBE restarting can resolve this for others as well.
Log out of your Fitbit App

force shut the app by swiping the Fitbit app upward

turn off your iOS device, wait 1-2 mins then restart your iOS device

log back into your Fitbit account as you normally would with your email address and password

😃 I’m hoping this works for you as well
