Charge 3 not syncing with iPhone/iPad.

Ever since last update Fitbit charge 3 stopped syncing to my iPad. Switched to my iPhone, now it doesn't sync to that either. Turned both devices on and off as well as the Bluetooth and still does nothing. Not at all impressed anymore. Maybe I'll just buy a timex, they still make those right?

The Fitbit Charge 3 charging issues are dire. Mine is paired, yet more times than not, it says device not found when I try to sync. No piece of technology should be so difficult to use. I notice that there is no response from anyone at Fitbit to say they are looking into this issue. I’m actually thinking of getting an Apple Watch and getting rid of the charge.

Try a “Reboot Device” on the watch. That worked for me, twice now. All the suggestions of reboot the phone, reinstall the app, re-pair the Bluetooth are all great ideas, but the one that worked for me when the Sync got stuck was to reboot the device itself. You do that from the watch (I have a Charge 3). Scroll/Swipe across to ‘Settings’. Select ‘About’. Select ‘Reboot Device’ and click on the tick :heavy_check_mark:

Thank you. However you are telling me to do the same things I have done a
number of times, after my having scrolled through the numerous 'post's by
Fitbit, and other 'community' members, and following all those suggestions.

I had followed all the 'tips' and directions on the Help website plus some
help comments from the 'Community posts.

Your 'rep (Mark) spoke with me, and during our recent and lengthy ( almost 2
hours ) phone conversation, with him instructing me in his attempt to solve
the problem,. He was finally able to have my iPad (only) sync with the
Fitbit Charge 3, and 2 days later it had again stopped connecting with
Bluetooth and syncing.

Both devices cannot now be recognised by Bluetooth to connect up when
attempting to sync. Message 'No Device found'.

I can now only wear the Fitbit to count steps etc. and that is all. No
notifications etc etc coming through even though I am quite experienced with
using such devices.

I cannot understand why this problem is shown to be experienced by numerous
others as well as myself.

>From my 'investigating' it would seem that this may have happened after a
recent 'update'.

Are owners of the Fitbit Charge 3 the only people experiencing this worrying
problem, or are the Charge 4 owners affected also?

One comment made on your help Community comments section said he had given
up on the Charge 3, and had bought a Charge 4.

Is that the only way that the problem can be solved? Until this time I have
been quite Ok with Charge 3 and am very reluctant to 'invest' in another
Fitbit.

I do hope you have an answer to this Charge 3 problem very soon.

With thanks

My Charge 3 wouldn’t sync on my iPhone or iPad and it only works on my iPhone because my daughter had gone through the online help. Which took a long time. Doesn’t work at all on my iPad. I gave up. Certainly wouldn’t buy another one. The company should either fix or replace all charge 3s

Since Saturday 5/9 I have the same issue of Charge 3 not syncing with my iPhone.  I went through all the steps 3x Sunday to finally sync and yesterday it wouldn’t sync once again.  Seems ridiculous to need to do every step daily.  This morning no sync.  The Bluetooth on my iPhone recognizes the Fitbit.

I still randomly have this non syncing issue. it's not every time, it;s
only a few times a week. When this happens, usually I have to disconnect
my wifi and then sync and this works. Sometimes, it doesn't and I also
have to close and reopen the fitbit app 2 or 3 times and then sync.
Sometimes, I just give up and later it syncs fine. Eventually, I get it to
sync but I shouldn't have to o this. Everything else works with my Iphone.
It's only the Fitbit3 that isn't interacting with the app correctly.
There is obviously some kind of conflict that involves fitbit charge 3,
iphone bluetooth, and wifi . It needs to be addressed by the Fitbit
people,

I also noticed it wouldn’t sync when the Charge3 battery power was low. So when you pull down the app in the phone to manually force a sync the battery symbol was in Red (less than 20%) and then it wouldn’t sync. But after charging up and rebooting it seems to sync ok now.

Fitbit was at 99% Sunday and after many tries it did sync.  Yesterday same problem by evening.  42% today and not syncing—- frustrating to go through this every day.

I haven't even thought about battery level. Maybe that has something to do with it.  Today it was under 50% and it did not sync until many tries.

No That's not causing my problem. Always keep up the charge. Thanks

Did spend many hours speaking on phone direct with Fitbit help. Is there
another way to go direct?
Best Answer

Not that I know of. As I said my daughter did it for me.

I had a similar issue and thought it was me. Unbelievable fitbit has become so unreliable.

Yeah, same for me. My phone says the device is connected on bluetooth.  Then the app says it can't find device.  It's like the Fitbit is sleeping.  Like I said before, it did help me to do these things when I have trouble syncing - I close the fitbit app, turn off wifi on my phone and then try to sync.- this one often works immediately for me. A few times it didn't and I turned off the phone blue tooth, disconnected and then  turned it back on.and reconnect the device. After it reconnects, it works after a about minute.
