Does Fitbit sync with Apples Health app?

I would love it if it Fitbit synced with the Health app from Apple. Someone please tell me it does and how to do it. I can't figure it out.

It is unfortunate that the Fitbit does not integrate directly with the HealthKit. However, it does integrate with other applications, such as Lose It! [Updated:] which may then integrate with the HealthKit. 

I have not explored how well (or at all) this actually works, so YMMV.

Seems to me many here are too willing to blame FItbit for the failure to interface directly with the Apple Health App.

Apple is a competitor - the Apple Watch is competition. What possible motivation does Apple have to make it easy for other hardware to access their app? For all I know Apple may be blocking Fitbit's app from accessing Apple Health.

I don't know -- but  to automatically assume it's Fitbit's fault in this scenario is just not supportable. . .

It is 100% Fitbit's fault for not supporting HealthKit. Healthkit is open for our data to be shared in the ways that we like. They are not blocking Fitbit.

But, our data SHOULD NOT be a tool of competition.

Fitbit is choosing to lock our data into their environment to hold us hostage. This is not ok, and why I ditched them for something else.

Right, you don't know. But I know very well that Apple Health Kit is open for anyone to integrate with because I know about iPhone app development. I can develop an iphone app that writes data to Apple health kit, that's why there is a 3rd party app that can do this. So Fitbit can integrate with Apple health if they just decide do it. It's 100% Fitbit's fault if they don't integrate with Apple health. 

Also note that Fitbit does not integrate with Google fit. Google fit is completely open for anyone to integrate. If you look at other option like Withings (Nokia health), garmin, even the cheap brands from China, they all integrate with Apple and Google health platform.  It's completely ridiculous that Fitbit does not !!!

The last update from Fitbit in November started they are promoting their
API with the release of the ionic and are evaluating competitors such as
Apple. This does not sound like Apple is the problem to me.

It is true, that there are 3rd party apps that can facilitate getting you data from Fitbit to HealthKit. However, I don’t want my health data in their hands.

It is like if you have a Toyota car they will dictate which road you can drive. It is your car and it is your choice how to use it.

Actually your analogy is flawed. It would be more accurate to say "You buy a Toyota and and they tell you what road you can't drive." Even that isn't a good analogy.

So take your data and do whatever you want with it. . .

Point taken. Can't speak to Fitbit's reasoning for this decision.

Seems to me you're missing a potential business opportunity. Why not offer your expertise to help them? Just sayin' - light a candle, don't curse the darkness. . .

It is not rocket science to integrate with Apple Health. Many, many, many other companies have done so. Fitbit shouldn't "need" help. It is more so a desire to integrate. I'm not sure why people are still trying to defend this decision. If you want to stay in the closed Fitbit ecosystem, fine. But why spread false statements when a few (or many searches) could bring you to the truth? Fitbit is trying to create its own ecosystem including apps. This is public information. They have decided not to integrate with other aggregators as they want to be the one stop shop for health data aggregation.

My wife got me a Fitbit blaze. I never would have gotten an unwaterproof not always on watch.

But am trying it as an Apple Watch type test to see if it fits in with my lifestyle. It seems to so in a few weeks I'll ditch the Fitbit and get an Apple Watch.

That is frustrating. There is no partnership with Apple and the partnership with Lifesum works so so. It’s suppose to update itself automatically but it doesn’t. 

And it’s so basic, I have no clue why it hasn’t been done yet.

It’s nice to hear you work with other app developers, and I’m not a programmer, but I don’t think it’s too much to ask to the Fitbit app to download my historical steps data from the iPhone health app. I like the Fitbit app interface and wanted to pull in historical data for fun really. To see how many miles/steps I’ve taken all in one place would be neet. Thanks!

I junked my FitBit surge and went with an Apple Watch just to get sync with the Apple Health app.  When FitBit works with Apple Health, maybe I'll reconsider - maybe not.  But without Apple Health support, FitBit is not even in the mix for my next wearable.

In app store search fitbit and then download health sync and full sleep sync apps and all your nessary data will be sync with apple health,easy peasy :),i love my fitbit alta,buying apple watch and take it off for charging everyday and all time worry about your watch is very ridiculous(an experinced user in the use of aw)
