Fitbit Update 9/19/16
This issue where users experience a red "(not synced)" error next to their exercise logs on the iOS App has been resolved with the release of iOS App version 2.27. Click here to update your App if you haven't already.
Thanks you for everybody's patience while we worked this one out!
Fitbit Update 5/23
There is currently a bug where some iOS users see a red "(not synced)" error next to some of their exercise logs. Our team is aware and currently working on fixing this bug. Apologies for any inconvenience that this creates.
Please do not uninstall/reinstall the Fitbit App, uninstalling/reinstalling the Fitbit App could cause data loss. If possible, I would also recommend logging activities on Fitbit.com until a fix is available.

Hey Derrik
Any word on when this bug will be fixed? Smashed out 103km on an endurance event over the weekend (32 hours) and it's concerning that I could loose all the data. It tries to sync then crashes the app. Seriously thinking about moving to the competion at the moment.

Best AnswerAgree that it is most likely a server-side issue. The fact that it can occasionally sync the shorter runs suggests that they have put a data/time limit on syncing to take pressure off their servers. It would also explain why they are no longer responding to this thread. A victim of their own success perhaps?
Best AnswerAlso for me is a server side issue... if you try, try and try after brute forcing the sync finally happens!
Same problem for me this morning for a 32km bike ride as the Surge was nearly flat I tracked it on the phone. Th issue is that I found this thread after I logged off the app and back in so it looks like my exercise is gone!
Very dissapointed that no-one from Fitbit has responded here for quite some time and that the problem has hung around for over 2 months.
Best AnswerGood afternoon FitBit community,
I too am now experiencing the issue of the iOS app not syncing an activity to the web, ie fitbit dashboard.
Rides under 10mi seem to log and sync OK. Anything above 1hr of activity tends to fail to sync iOS gps data to FitBit dashboard. Also, why has the option of designating an activity, such as cycling, been removed?
However, the tracker data is uploaded... Just not the GPS data from the iphone.
Has there been an update released recently that had caused this functionality to break two months after this thread was created?
Pretty upsetting when you participate in challenges and your GPX data is inaccessable. Known bugs like this are approved and added to our Scrum+Sprint. THIS IS A BREAK THAT REQUIRES FIX. 2 MONTHS!!!!!
Time to switch to garmin!
