Fitbit Update 9/19/16

This issue where users experience a red "(not synced)" error next to their exercise logs on the iOS App has been resolved with the release of iOS App version 2.27. Click here to update your App if you haven't already.

Thanks you for everybody's patience while we worked this one out!

Fitbit Update 5/23

There is currently a bug where some iOS users see a red "(not synced)" error next to some of their exercise logs. Our team is aware and currently working on fixing this bug. Apologies for any inconvenience that this creates.

Please do not uninstall/reinstall the Fitbit App, uninstalling/reinstalling the Fitbit App could cause data loss.  If possible, I would also recommend logging activities on Fitbit.com until a fix is available.

Nor me.

Seems the only true workaround is to persistently bash away at the "try again to sync" bar until it works. Which begs the question why the app can't be doing this itself in the background automatically in the meantime until a proper fix is in place. Do Fitbit really want me spending hours on this frustration in person? Drop an update where, if on wifi and charging, the app never gives up sync attempts until they're done.

Fitbit, get your freaking act together! Have you grown too big to actually care to do something about a problem that has existed for months? How do inaccurate, unsyncable exercise logs help towards fitness goals? I've been a happy Fitbit owner since the day it became available in Europe but now I'm seriously considering changing to another manufacturer for good. It cannot be so difficult to fix a problem!

For what it is worth, this problem started with my account on 31 March 2016.  Prior to this date, every entry sync'd.  Since this date, every Body Pump entry fails to sync, but the other entries (i.e. Treadmill) sync fine. IMG_4090.jpg

Long walk today has still not synced eight hours later. I'm going back to using My Fitness Pal. It syncs with Fitbit after a fashion. Waiting to see what the new Apple Watch with GPS will do.

I've gone back to using the Runtastic app for GPS fracked exercises. This syncs to the Fitbit app. So on RunTastic tracks the route, mile split times and elevation. Fitbit app tracks the steps plus heart rate, calories and time. The last 3 come from Runtastic.

@walker12 does the map sync into the Fitbit app from Runtastic and match up the steps with the map and mileage?

It's not the best solution. No sync of the map. You have to look on Runtastic app for that. I'm not sure about the steps. Runtastic links the miles into Fitbit. Assume steps and heart rate just on Fitbit.

I am so disappointed. I don't think the zip is fit for purpose it just isn't syncing the activity. This problem has been going on for months. I have weeks of unsynced walks. Maybe we should send them a copy of the sale of goods act - we should all demand our money back! 😡

@DerrickS another iOS update for Fitbit app, now v2.26.1 but still doesn't fix this. Other users say this only happened after Msrch this year. Come on we need answers now. I bought my Fitbit HR through Amazin so going to approach them for a refund. Also going to contact Apple to pull the Fitbit app as it does not work as described.

Agreed! i did the update too. After constantly pressing the red sync again thing it synced my latest walk but I have about 12 walks also waiting to be synced. If I spent all my time pressing the re-sync thing I wouldn't have time to walk!!! Think they will just ignore our plea though

Yes, mine synced this morning too (not first time mind - had a few tries). It isn't syncing all the past three weeks activity though. Tut. Suppose we can't have everything. Keep fingers crossed

Nope. 😞

Tried again multiple times without success. Including app restarting, phone restarting...

Latest app-version 2.2.6.1 (572), iOS 8.4.1, iPhone 4S.

Nightmare still real.

I did the following as adviced by the Fitbit support

:

- Log out your Fitbit account and log back in.
- Force quit the Fitbit app and open it again.
- Reboot your mobile device and then open the Fitbit app again.

This resulted in all maps from excercise more than 90 minutes are gone! They just disappeared!!
The stats are there now but not my maps!
How can I get them back?

I have an iPhone 5c, iOS 9.3.4 (13G35)
Fitbit app 2.26.1 (572)

@Heatlander you can't get them back. The support rep obviously didn't know what they were saying. This is widely reported and confirmed by moderators. Do not log out of the app, you will lose the unsynced data. That happened to me and I just had to accept it and move on.

@DerrickS Tell all in the support that they also NEVER should tell their precious customer to logg off/log on. The stats will come alive, but all the maps will disappear. I was adviced by the Fitbit team to log off/logg on. I shouldn't have listen to them.

Our family have lost a large amount of maps for all the excercises longer than 90 minutes. Obvious the problems lies in the processing off GPS stats. The app can't handle the information anymore. Thanks a lot, I am SO disappointed.

 EDIT: Once You have
1. logged off/logged in
2. shut down the app
3. restarted the device
the app works again.Cat Very Happy

Yes all previous maps from excercise longer than 90 minutes will vanish but the rest of the stats will turn up AND further use when excercise longer than 90 minutes will save the maps!
Yes the maps is then back again.
But previous maps befor the latest update are most probably unfortunately a lost cause.
Suck it in.Heart

I too have had Fitbit admins here advise that I log out and back in as a fix for other issues, even after I tell them that this would cause me to lose unsynced activity so long as this issue persists. The link to submit the forums experience feedback questionnaire is broken in iOS Safari too. This company is a clown car.

iOS 9.3.4

Fitbit App 2.26.1 (572) (1 day old)

Charge HR 122

At this point, exercises under 90 minutes sync almost immediately. Syncs between 1.5 and 2 hours take a while.

I have 2 exercises where the GPS tracker recorded a single exercise, but the ChargeHR/App split the exercise into pieces. (Two pieces in one cases, four (!) pieces in the other.) Those are both about 2 1/4 hours total time. I also have a 3 hour walk that still hasn't sync'ed.

I've been dealing with this same issue in the "weekly exercise goals" area.  I'm pretty consistant in my exercise and it makes me feel good when I get the "goal met"  message.  But, this happens sporatically because the exercise sessions aren't registering in the app.  Steps, distance, etc. all are there --- manually input or auto tracked. So, this is just an irritation at this point.  Glad to see I'm not the only one with the issue and that it is a recognized "bug" in the software.  Have been faithful FB wearer for a couple of years.  Just wanted to put my two-cents worth in the the hat.  Hope the issue is resolved soon.
