Fitbit Update 9/19/16

This issue where users experience a red "(not synced)" error next to their exercise logs on the iOS App has been resolved with the release of iOS App version 2.27. Click here to update your App if you haven't already.

Thanks you for everybody's patience while we worked this one out!

Fitbit Update 5/23

There is currently a bug where some iOS users see a red "(not synced)" error next to some of their exercise logs. Our team is aware and currently working on fixing this bug. Apologies for any inconvenience that this creates.

Please do not uninstall/reinstall the Fitbit App, uninstalling/reinstalling the Fitbit App could cause data loss.  If possible, I would also recommend logging activities on Fitbit.com until a fix is available.

I wonder if IOS9 that was the root cause, though, as it seeemd Android users were also having problems.

Glad to hear it seems fixed, though strange to see users instead of Fitbit personnel confirming this. Unfortunately the lack of comms from Fitbit meant that I sent back my new Fitbit while I still could...

I have not updated to iOS 10. Sync is working since last Fitbit update.

Thanks Ron

I had noticed if I used the pause feature my walks would not sync. If I didn't, it would sync.

Mine is doing the same thing. I went on a six-mile walk today and it won't sync! Anybody have any solutions?

I don't think the v2.27 update has fixed this sync problem from what julie1013 said. I noticed on a previous update that my old walks did sync but ones after that did not. Perhaps someone could see if walks/runs do sync after the update. I can't do this as I sent my charge HR back to Amazon for a full refund

@julie1013 if you're in IOS is your Fitbit app updated and is your iOS updated? For me, it seems the last update has resolved this issue. I've seen others post this as well. I'm hoping this is fixed and just not a fluke. I'll know tomorrow on my next walk.

I update both whenever my iPhone prompts me too. I haven't received any prompts in at least a few weeks.

After updating the Fitbit app on my iPhone earlier today all my walks over 90 minutes have now synced. Some automatically and others I had to press the red strip several times. Of course I can't reinstate the walks I lost uninstalling and reinstalling apps but just glad this is now fixed.
Thank you Fitbit, I never lost faith you'd sort it. 🙂

I updated Fitbit app, and as soon as I did, it synced today's walk. Thanks, everyone!

Sadly all my unsynced runs and hikes were uncerimoniously deleted over a month ago, and they did not come back. I'll be sticking with the alternatives I've been using in the interm, I see no reason to trust this Fitbit app again

Do not believe the title of this thread.  It's still not resolved .... this has been going on since MARCH of this year!

Works for me. Current exercises are sync'ing, and old exercises are sync'ing when attempting to re-sync.

Works for me, too.  Old exercises sync up immediately, as well.  No problems now...

For those that have been following this thread since May, you will know I've been quite vocal about the app not syncing before so thought only fair to report good news. (Good job it was too as I did a half marathon his weekend!) Overall the app seems a LOT better - it even synced my mile splits within seconds (Also happy to report I got my "beat your best" weekend warrior trophy this weekend too!) I hope this is all down to a fix from Fitbit and not just a fluke but will give benefit of doubt and say THANK YOU

A quick question though - is there any way to "export" the data, ie map of run, splits, steps etc. To an external app ie Runkeeper (for back up purposes) - on that point, anyway to pull in data like maps? When this wasn't working I did use Runkeeper a few times but would like all my mapped runs together

Hello everyone and thank you @dafydd@PastorJeff1986 and @markjprobert for reporting after the new update the exercises are syncing.

@SunsetRunner I'm sorry to hear despite the exercise are syncing now, you lost the previous recordings that were not synced. Unfortunately I cannot offer you a workaround to recover this data, due to includes GPS information that can't be manually logged.

@markjprobert glad to hear everything is working great and to answer your question; note that is possible to export GPS data to a TCX file, then upload that file to several applications including RunKeeper, MapMyFitness, Endomondo, Strava, and Google Earth.

To export GPS data:

  1. Log into your Fitbit web-based dashboard and click Log > Activities, or go directly to https://www.fitbit.com/activities (It might request to log in using your email and password for your Fitbit account).
  2. In your Activity History, find the activity with GPS data that you want to export and click the View Details button. The detail page for your activity appears.
  3. Click the three dots in the upper right corner and choose Export as TCX file.

@RedHedd I wonder if you are experimenting any additional issue to the one mentioned on this thread? Or is the same issue persisting even after you updated the app? Let me know and perhaps we can find a solution.

Thank you all for your patience and keep participating in our Community.

This is NOT fixed. I currently have IOS version 2.27.1 and the problem is still occurring. I have lost dozens of exercises, so really all my data is not much more accurate than if I had kept a log by hand.

I can log some activities using the app. I cannot log others. Why this is so is a mystery and one Fitbits IT gurus have failed to resolve. What is frustrating is that this was NOT an issue before last March (or so). In other words, Fitbit took a perfectly good, fully functioning product and made it into a perfectly not good, dis functioning product. Nice move, Fitbit. Regression as progression.
