Fitbit Update 9/19/16
This issue where users experience a red "(not synced)" error next to their exercise logs on the iOS App has been resolved with the release of iOS App version 2.27. Click here to update your App if you haven't already.
Thanks you for everybody's patience while we worked this one out!
Fitbit Update 5/23
There is currently a bug where some iOS users see a red "(not synced)" error next to some of their exercise logs. Our team is aware and currently working on fixing this bug. Apologies for any inconvenience that this creates.
Please do not uninstall/reinstall the Fitbit App, uninstalling/reinstalling the Fitbit App could cause data loss. If possible, I would also recommend logging activities on Fitbit.com until a fix is available.

This happened to me for the first time today when I tried to use Mobile Track via Fitbit v2.24 on my iPhone to post a route I walked. I've had many successes using Surge GPS and a few successes using Mobile Track to sync walking and hiking routes to Fitbit.com. I did a few things differently this time and wondered if one of them created a sync-conflict resulting in the problem, or whether it's a more general bug in the Mobile Track function for this version of the Fitbit app:
1) I recorded my hike via the MapMyFitness app simultaniously with Mobile Tack, which seemed to work fine and posted to MapMyFitness.com via their app without a problem. I have MapMyFitness connected to Fitbit in order to sync steps and distances on the MapMy site. Is it possible the Fitbit app is refusing to sync anywhere because the exercise is already posted at that time on MapMyFitness? This seems unlikly since I don't think Fitbit recieves any information from MapMyFitness; for instance, when I post a specific hike via the MapMy app, MapMyFitness.com double-counts all my steps and distances for that hike, so that stats are way higher those days on MapMyFitness then the real Fitbit stats I achieved.
2) I manually added steps at Fitbit.com that may have overlapped in time with my iPhone Mobile Tracked hike. Could the time-overlap make manually entered data a higher priority and cause the app to refuse to sync that route? My fitbit was charging at home while I hiked, then I returned home and accidentilly set my phone down after saving the route but before getting my fitbit. When I have no tracker I like to manually add steps which can only be done at Fitbit.com. I tried to force-sync my new route after manually adding the steps and I may have had overlapping times for the two fitness records, which I imagine could break the sync-rules for the app.
I've tried everything to get this Fitbit Mobile Track Exercise to sync with Fitbit.com: I removed the recorded route on MapMyFitness.com and removed the manually-entered steps on Fitbit.com, with no success ... but I thought I'd share these details if it could help you figure out a solution, or in case you have any tips about manually entering steps or working with MapMyFitness.

For me it's like the FitBit app can only sync one exercise session at a time. Trying to enter different exercises ends up with the first entry being unsynced and then the most recent entry switching to synced. One of my normal exercise sessions consits of three or four different activities, which I log separately. I log my crunches (they sync), I log some stretches (they sync and now crunches are not synced), I log some weight lifting (they sync, but now both crunches and stretches switch to not synced). Later in the day I may log some yoga and that entry will sync, but the others will then be marked as not synced.
What I've been doing is going into the web page and manually re-entering whatever part of my workout session is not synced and then it syncs. I have to be careful to get it exact or it won't sync.

I got some good news today. I tried the SYNC NOW option from the Fitbit Connect app on Laptop with Dongle plugged in and it actually gave me the notation SYNC COMPLETED. Checked on Dashboard and sure enough LAST SYNC 45 seconds ago. I had already entered today's weight lifting workout on fitbit.com so I cannot test the App update/sync today. Will try that tomorrow.

This issue is not with the device syncing. Rather it is with the mobile app syncing when using the mobile run feature.

I did get an update to Fibit app on iphone today. Waited for it to complete loading the updated app, entered data from this mornings Weight training session, Got the Try to Sync Again and Not Synced we are familiar with. Booted the Phone, Reopened the App, Same thing. Not sure what this Fitbit App update did but it did not help with the SYNC issue from App. Worse Yet yesterday the Fitbit Connect app on Laptop with Dongle was able to force sync. That no longer works after I applied the update on my phone.

OK This is getting Progressivly Worse. After I installed the last update on the iPhone App the App is completely worthless. Now even though you enter your Exercise on Fitbit dot Com it still shows up in App as NOT SYNCED. They have now destroyed the Work Around so NOTHING works. What was in this App Update that was supposed to be fixed? I don't know if Fitbit considers themselves a Software Company but if they do they should fire their Entire Staff of Coders. I have been in IT for 40 years and have yet to see such a Slipshod approach to Software Development. I have been very very patient with FITBIT largely due to the fact I have such a large investment with them, but they are obviously going down the tubes and have no intentions of doing anything for their Clients. I am posting this update on Consumer Affairs dot Com and see if that gets their Attention. I need to get a Refund for the HR Tracker, The Scale and everything else FITBIT because It simply DOES NOT WORK.

Just read the synposis of the App update 2.21.1. They say they fixed hourly activity progress on the new dashboard and fixed another issue where tracker icon on the new dashboard would display incorrectly.
Does Anybody out there care about these issues?. I just want the App to do what it is supposed to do and why I spent a couple of hundred dollars buying this gear.

Hi There. Just wondering if we're still at the same place. I am trying to sync exercise that is usually over 1.5 hours. I have updated everything etc. Have there been any solutions that I may have missed? Argh this is seriously starting to frustrate me! Help... As I'm training for a half marathon, I need a device I can rely on and I want to keep all my data. When I log off from the app, I usually lose all unsynced data! Maybe I should start investigating other devices (Garmin etc).... Where are we at Fitbit??
