Can’t get my Fitbit Versa to sync

I would try restarting your phone and then restarting your fitbit using this procedure:

  1. Press and hold the back (left) and bottom buttons until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen. This should take less than 10 seconds.
  2. Let go of the buttons.

If it still won't sync after that then there are some more ideas to try in this help file: http://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1866

Hello @Baythonwojo, thanks for joining the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. It's nice to see you around too @SteveH, thanks for all your help. Smiley Happy

Thanks for bringing this to my attention, have you restarted your Versa as @SteveH suggested? If so, I would like to suggest you to check the following:

  • Make sure the latest version of the Fitbit app is installed on your phone.
  • The software on your mobile device is up to date. To check, tap Settings > General > Software Update.
  • Make sure there are no other Bluetooth devices around as they might interfere with the syncing process
  • Check that your Fitbit device's battery isn't critically low.

If your device still won't sync, try these steps:

  1. Force quit the Fitbit app.
  2. Go to Settings > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth off and back on.
  3. Open the Fitbit app.
  4. If your Fitbit device didn't sync, restart your phone again.
  5. Open the Fitbit app.
  6. If your Fitbit device didn't sync, restart it one more time.
  7. If your Fitbit device won't sync after the restart, log in to your Fitbit account on a different phone, tablet, or computer and try to sync.
  8. If your Fitbit device still doesn’t sync, remove all other Fitbit devices from your account and from the list of connected Bluetooth devices on your mobile device and try to sync.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.

I’ve tried all of that and still doesn’t work.  I deleted it from the app which now finds the device but won’t connect.  Now what to do please.  Thank you!

Hello @Djnj2 and @Nettyd, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community! Smiley Happy

@Nettyd, thanks for joining the conversation and let us know your issue has now been resolved, I'm very glad!

@Djnj2, if you have removed the Versa from your account and the app is unable to set it back up, I would like to suggest you to check the following:

  1. Turn off Bluetooth on your phone; wait 10 seconds, and then turn it back on.
  2. Make sure you have a strong WiFi signal and that there are no other Bluetooth devices around that might interfere with the setup process.
  3. Restart your Versa by pressing and holding the Back and Select buttons (left and bottom right) until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen, then try to set up again.
  4. If you can't set up after a restart, reboot your phone or tablet and try to set up again.
  5. If you can't set up after the reboot, remove all other Fitbit devices from your account and from the list of connected Bluetooth devices on your phone or tablet and try to set up the Versa one more time.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted!

I have tried all of these steps multiple times. My phone’s Bluetooth can find other devices but not my versa. I deleted my versa from my Fitbit app, I deleted my Fitbit app from my phone, and I attempted to reload both, but now my Fitbit app can’t find my versa. Would appreciate suggestions.

Never got it synced, versa later died and replaced with Apple Watch.  Sorry I can’t help.

The only way I was able to resolve this was to do a factory reset on the FitBit.

From the FitBit go to Settings>About>Factory Reset

it sucks to lose my data, but it did sync immediately. Hope this helps.

I went through all the steps mentioned, and my fitbit still would not sync.  Eventually I figured out I had to set up the device again, as in link my fitbit to my phone like it was brand new.

I've been experiencing the same.

The first one or two times - I chalked it up to an IOS issue.  But after having to go thru either a Versa device re-boot or a bluetooth re-pair, I don't think the problem is the phone.  Its unfortunate that this is the only workaround I've found to work.
