Fitbit app freezing

Is anyone else having problems with the Fitbit app freezing on iOS?  Even the last two updates the app freezes on opening and I have to force it closed and Re-open several times before it will start and synch

I have this update and had to open and close the app 6 times this morning before it would open withoit freezing

No difference in terms of app freeze behavior. Still happens 80 to 90% of the time, even after a fresh phone restart.

Seems the app is not accessible.  Just a blank screen at first and when some details do appear, the screen freezes.  Nothing moves. Anyine  else having this problem ?

Sorry to see you're having problems with the app. 

I use an Android phone and don't have any problems opening the Fitbit app. 

You could try opening the App settings on your phone and do a Force Stop on the Fitbit app. You might also clear the cache & storage, then re-open the app. That might be enough to reset your app so that it opens and works properly. 

If that doesn't work, consider deleting the app and re-installing it. Make sure you do a sync first and that you know your Fitbit login information.

And please do not be upset with the fact that Fitbit software developers have not addressed the problem of the application freezing. Overtime you will get used to the idiosyncrasies of the Fitbit software. I like many of us you will learn to find your own work around to get the software to approximate what you desire. I am a blind user, and have learned to adapt to the Fitbit problems that are unique to the blind user, and have learned that cited viewers of the Fitbit application have been in Hanst experience compared to the blind and reading disabled users. I have contacted Fitbit customer care regarding this and other issues along with Google Disability Support personnel.

I did this on my iPhone, and hope that you will be able to understand my ramblings. I will continue to advocate for the blind and reading disabled in hopes that someday we will be able to experience with the Fitbit application as cited people are able.

The app doesn’t work, give up. Something broke with google account authentication. They’ll make some tweak and then it will work again for a few hours, but it will just go down again for days or weeks at a time.

I’m on an iPhone and the screen goes grey, frozen, shows no details and won’t swipe to sync

No question in my mind: iOS Fitbit app might be the worst, most unreliable app I’ve encountered. Takes three times loading for it to work. Load once and freezes, doesn’t load my profile; close it, load again, same thing; close it, load again and it works. This happens every time. Deleted app; reloaded - same issue. Ugh! Time to go back to Apple Watch?

I have the same problem, I’ll get on the app for a bit but then when I get off and don’t open it again for awhile when I try to go back in its just a blank screen or completely freezes. I have to keep deleting the app and reinstalling it and then logging in again for it to load properly again and I don’t want to have to keep doing that every time I’m trying to open the app again and get it synced with my Fitbit Device.

I am beyond frustrated with the app.  I am at my 10th refresh and it is still freezing on me.  Looking for alternatives really sounds great.  I have been a promotor and an advocate of Fitbit since it was first introduced.  I had faced countless letdowns with the devices before but I chose to stick with it but now the app performance is the last straw!  I just don't understand how it cannot be fixed over the last 2 months - over even longer.

Interestingly the app is more stable on my iPad but who wants to carry that round all day 🤣 it should be able to work on iPhones

already 6 month Fitbit can’t fix bug while clicking on deep/rem sleep tab. The app is freezing while clicking in that tab! iOS!

I recently installed version 3.88 and I still have issues with the screen, freezing and tiles disappearing, and then re-appearing. In my case, when I swipe for a distance to go to steps and jumps to heart rate and cardio zone. When this happens, I click on your profile/picture then click on my tracker and then scroll down and click on synchronize multiple times before going back to find the screen restore to Cree tiles disappearing. I am a blind user, using Apple‘s voiceover screen, reading software in order to get information from the iOS application screen. It is extremely frustrating when fields disappear, screen sprays, and the only solution is well wanting to do a mechanical resynchronization.  I wish the pull to refresh option worked, but it has never worked for me and I am not sure if this is related to software issues or compatibility with Apple’s voiceover screen reading software. I have dictated this on my iPhone and hope you will be able to understand my ramblings .

I’ve just had it with Fitbit and I’ve had at least 7 Fitbits over the years. Ever since they merged with Google, the app is virtually useless
I’m changing to another brand. And if enough people drop Fitbit, maybe then they’ll get their act together.

Also several fitbit apps wont work, like SP02, EDA, they wont read , Aria air stopped connecting too, fitbit can find it but stops, cannot  complete to reconnect

Frustrating when it doesnt work. Hope it will be solved soon,

Your experience is different than mine. This morning in a very short time frame, I had the following experiences. I walked approximately 250 steps and the screen remained frozen until I clicked on your picture/your profile clicked on the device I was wearing and then synced multiple times. A After that, I experienced disappearing, tiles steps, floors, calories and zone minutes. I tried pull to refresh because that message was on the screen, and nothing happened. I also experienced the same tiles steps, floors, calories and zone minutes reversing order. They reversed to zone minutes, calories, floors and steps . This has been going on for a very long time. And as a blind user, who cannot read my trackers screens, I rely on the iOS app for actively tracking my daily progress. When it works right, I can swipe with one hand and listen in to my progress using apples, voiceover, screen, reading software. it is extremely frustrating when I have to leave the home screen and sink multiple times in order to get my data while walking with my white cane in one hand and my iPhone in the other. I know I should not do that for safety reasons that involve myself and others around me , but it is the only way I can get active data while walking. Like many of you I hope that the promised upgrade to the Fitbit/Google iOS software will resolve the many issues that have been brought up within the forum. As stated, I am a blind user And how I dictated this on my iPhone and hope that you will be able to understand my ramblings.
