Fitbit Update: 8/15

Hey all!

This week we released the option to opt-in to use the new dashboard to everyone. At this time, everyone should have received the option to opt-in already. If you didn't opt-in, we will transition everyone into the new dashboard in the coming weeks.

A reminder, after you've opted into the new design you cannot revert and go back to the old one. Read more about the new interface we've designed here: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?

Make sure you're also on the latest version of the Fitbit app.

Thanks for your patience while we completely released the new interface to everyone. We hope you're enjoying the improvements that have been made and appreciate all the feedback.

Fitbit Update: 8/6

Hey everyone!

Thanks for all your feedback on the new dashboard design. We're still in the process of releasing it to all of our users. If you don't see it yet, you will have it pushed to you in the coming weeks! This has been a slow process for the past few months to ensure a smooth rollout.

We're currently on app version 3.3, so please make sure as always that you have the latest version of the Fitbit app

Once we've released this new dashboard to everyone, we will announce it in this thread.

Fitbit Update: 6/17

Hi Fitbit Family,

We are still rolling out our updated Fitbit app design to more users currently with v.2.95. Please make sure to update the Fitbit app by visiting the App store if you haven't already. If you don't see the new dashboard just yet, you will be receiving it at some point in the coming weeks.

Thanks so much for your patience throughout this rollout. To read more about this new dashboard experience, please check this article out: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?

Once this rollout is complete, we will let you all know in this thread.

Fitbit Update: 5/22

Hi everyone!

We’ve rolled out another phase of testing for the new app dashboard experience. If you’re one of the lucky people to see it before the full release, you can read more about it here: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?

We’ll continue to slowly release this to all Fitbit customers on iOS and Android. Once we receive more information on this, we’ll let you know.

Hope you’re all enjoying this new layout!

Fitbit Update: 4/24

Hi everyone!

Beginning today with app v2.92, we're excited to announce a new dashboard experience for the Fitbit app, currently by invitation only. If you are invited to opt-in, you can see the new design and try our new app experience to access all your stats and information in a way that’s more dynamic, integrated, and highly personalized.

You can read more about it in this help article: What's the new Fitbit app experience?

As with all our new dashboard updates, this is a progressive rollout. If you don't have an invitation or see the dashboard immediately, you will receive it later on.

We will update this thread with more information later, so stay tuned!

It seems, Marco, that you misread the post you referenced.  @JoeKII's suggested idea is that FITBIT allow customer's to switch back to the old app--something we cannot do now.

So I have the new look and it’s ok but every time I open the app it can’t seem to find my fit bit. Even when my phone is next to my Fitbit.  Trying to sync is a pain with this new update. Is this normal?

Best Answer

I also starting to find data issues. I cannot drill down on heart rates for prior days. It’s “grayed” out. Also, temperature for weather is in Centigrade rather than Fahrenheit. I can’t find a way to change it, hence the weather function on the watch is useless.

I have the same problem. You can try following the rebooting instructions for the tracker, but that didn’t work for me. The only thing that has worked is setting it to “all day sync” in the app. That will drain the batteries of both the tracker and phone faster but it’s the only way 8 can get them to sync.

Sign out of and close everything, detach your device then log in and re-add your device. That’s how I got mine to work again.

Sorry, I hate the new layout. It now shows less information on one screen and wastes way too much space.

Remember, a new layout isn’t better just because it’s new. More info per unit space is much better, and don’t let new management staff change things just because they are new...

The new version just appeared which I don’t mind but just wish before its made compulsory that’s everything works. There is no button to set or add a new alarm. So waking up without the alarm working is a pain, so then having to go on my computer to set this seems  silly.Makes  the app pretty useless.

Where did you find the silent alarm

Best Answer

@BreNZ the silent alarm setting may be found in one of two places.

With some tracker models the alarm is set right on the tracker.

For setting the alarm through the app. It will be found under settings.

From dashboard tap the icon of the tracker or settings. If settings was tapped, then tap the tracker.

Now tap silent alarm

On your phone with the new app: On the top left corner there is an icon. If you use your imagination, it might look like a clock. Tap on it. It will take you to your account page. Tape on the name of your device (mine is charge 2). On mine, I see handedness, wrist, clock face. Then silent alarms. Tap on it. Silent alarms page comes up. Click on Set a New Alarm. You can only set eight alarms, so I try to remember to delete them in order not to run out of space.

Here’s another sweet new “feature”:

Advertising in AppAdvertising in App

ADVERTISING

...in a product we already paid for.

This dashboard keeps getting worse all the time.

How do we opt out of advertising on the new dashboard?

Best Answer

Couldn’t agree more. If they need more revenue they need to change the price of the device, not load in ads. Another reason to move from a 5 star review to a 1 star review. And another reason to switch to a different tracker if it continues.

I havent seen any adds yet, this week I started seeing tips. I still find it annoying. But no that it has been 4 days they are not as frequent. Ive been closing then. Screenshot_20190531-121036_Fitbit.jpg

Hi.

Its been almost 3 weeks of a blank glitchy dashboard, I still can’t set up a challenge as it tells me I have reached my limit even if I’m only in 2 challenges, I cant  peek in on a challenge. I have tried deleting the app and reinstalling and always just the same. Any ideas anyone?

You are lucky!!!  You definitely still have the old version- believe me if they change you - you will notice;)!!

My App Store is only showing version 2.94 with pictures of the old dashboard. I download this and I’m having the new dashboard .

Pretty sure this is misleading information as my app looks nothing like the one I downloaded from my App Store.

That’s a good one and what I should have judging by the pics in my App Store when I download. But you will know when they change it as it’s nothing but issues.

Yes @SunsetRunner that was the last good version that I was robbed of!  It's not like that anymore!

It now looks like below (much smaller, less colorful):
