Fitbit Update: 8/15

Hey all!

This week we released the option to opt-in to use the new dashboard to everyone. At this time, everyone should have received the option to opt-in already. If you didn't opt-in, we will transition everyone into the new dashboard in the coming weeks.

A reminder, after you've opted into the new design you cannot revert and go back to the old one. Read more about the new interface we've designed here: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?

Make sure you're also on the latest version of the Fitbit app.

Thanks for your patience while we completely released the new interface to everyone. We hope you're enjoying the improvements that have been made and appreciate all the feedback.

Fitbit Update: 8/6

Hey everyone!

Thanks for all your feedback on the new dashboard design. We're still in the process of releasing it to all of our users. If you don't see it yet, you will have it pushed to you in the coming weeks! This has been a slow process for the past few months to ensure a smooth rollout.

We're currently on app version 3.3, so please make sure as always that you have the latest version of the Fitbit app

Once we've released this new dashboard to everyone, we will announce it in this thread.

Fitbit Update: 6/17

Hi Fitbit Family,

We are still rolling out our updated Fitbit app design to more users currently with v.2.95. Please make sure to update the Fitbit app by visiting the App store if you haven't already. If you don't see the new dashboard just yet, you will be receiving it at some point in the coming weeks.

Thanks so much for your patience throughout this rollout. To read more about this new dashboard experience, please check this article out: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?

Once this rollout is complete, we will let you all know in this thread.

Fitbit Update: 5/22

Hi everyone!

We’ve rolled out another phase of testing for the new app dashboard experience. If you’re one of the lucky people to see it before the full release, you can read more about it here: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?

We’ll continue to slowly release this to all Fitbit customers on iOS and Android. Once we receive more information on this, we’ll let you know.

Hope you’re all enjoying this new layout!

Fitbit Update: 4/24

Hi everyone!

Beginning today with app v2.92, we're excited to announce a new dashboard experience for the Fitbit app, currently by invitation only. If you are invited to opt-in, you can see the new design and try our new app experience to access all your stats and information in a way that’s more dynamic, integrated, and highly personalized.

You can read more about it in this help article: What's the new Fitbit app experience?

As with all our new dashboard updates, this is a progressive rollout. If you don't have an invitation or see the dashboard immediately, you will receive it later on.

We will update this thread with more information later, so stay tuned!

Hi

i have version 3.0 and it’s still crashing every time I try to go into a tile.

Best Answer

Agree, not loving the new dashboard!  I like the previous version better.

I've updated the app and the look and feel is not as user-friendly or compact; you have to scroll to get the complete picture which is a nuisance. Used to be able to find out where you were at a glance. It worked really well before you fixed it.

Best Answer

Sorry I don't understand the "where you where" this would be in relation to what?

By where you 'were' I mean the ease of use to allow us to get the total current picture as quickly as possible. You can't get that at a glance without scrolling now. Unnecessary scrolling, clicking, keyboard or mousework etc. Is indicative of a non-user-friendly app, regardless of platform. Inconvenience annoys users. You want to engage us, not inconvenience us.

Best Answer

That is interesting, since when the previous User Interface people have the same complaint of not being able to see everything at a glance.

Hi, @LizzyFitbit , thanks for not forgetting my issue with “3rd party scale app” opening instead of any other screen on my Fitbit app.

Following your message, I have had high hopes that new update on Fitbit app on iOS will bring us solution to the problem but unfortunately it was not the case.

I have updated Fitbit app, log out, restarted phone, installed “3rd party scale app” and again same problem show up.

In meanwhile, I have got one mail from customer support asking me for action I already did as suggested by you (restart, log out, etc.) and I have swiftly answered to.
However no new “ideas” from them how to resolve...

seeing that @MikeKinser and @Blas02 are having identical issue I would like to ask them if they have had more luck with new update of Fitbit app or we are all on starting point with this issue.

Looking forward to new ideas from you  @LizzyFitbit how to overcome this issue.

thanks loads

Ljubisa

I installed the update for version 3 and have the exact same problem still existing. That ticking noise you hear is the clock counting down until I buy a different brand and get away from this awful piece of software.

@Rich_Laue I can see all my daily metrics (7 different metrics plus hourly steps) perfectly on the “old” dashboard without scrolling. I have no clue what people wanted to see that they couldn’t.

I have zero interest in another social network or challenges, which is what I assume this new release is really about.

I’m confused how a company like Fitbit sends out teaser emails about the new version 3.0, drops it in the AppStore then everyone updates their app to see it still doesn’t show the “new experience” layout.  Please roll it out to everyone now. If you needed to beta test it first you should have done it before you drop it to the App Store.

Yes the new release is in response to the many users that request that challenges be moved to the dashboard.

If this is your issue then simply tap the edit button and rearrange, add or remove till your heart is satisfied.

Good morning Fitbit community. I see that nothing has changed with this update that was a huge step backwards. I will be leaving Fitbit  after being the owner of many devices  over many years .  Goodbye.

Lol, do you mean you got the update for OS 3.0 and your dashboard didn’t change either? Because that’s where I still am; trying to figure out why my app updated but with no change in the dashboard...

OS 3 is the firmware on you Fitbit tracker.

Fitbit has started releasing the Fitbit App version 3 which has nothing to do with the trackers firmware.

If you haven't received the new User Interface I suspect that Fitbit is then still rolling it out. The UI update is independent of the trackers firmware or the Fitbits App version

@Rich_LaueThanks for your response. I'm confused because Fitbit listed the OS 3.0 upgrade (in the app store) as including the new dashboard layout. It included the pictures of what to expect after the update occurred, and that didn't happen. The dashboard is the old format despite the pictures of what it should look like; any thoughts?

Your tracker most likely has been running Fitbit OS 3 long before anyone knew about the new UI.

I read that the Fitbit App version 3.0 (this is not the OS 3.0), will have the new UI.

Open up the Fitbit app. Tap your account, then help. On the top of the help page you will see your apps version.

I hope you consiferer the users opinion and give us soon an option to get back to the previous look. Like many others, I hate this new one too.

@twingo69 there's nothing to do but wait I'm afraid. We need to have our app updated to be ready for the new design but the new design is still being rolled out. It sounds like your app is ready and you now just need to wait for it to arrive.

Thank you @SteveH , that is what I needed to know, too! I will just wait for my app to update
