Fitbit Update: 8/15
Hey all!
This week we released the option to opt-in to use the new dashboard to everyone. At this time, everyone should have received the option to opt-in already. If you didn't opt-in, we will transition everyone into the new dashboard in the coming weeks.
A reminder, after you've opted into the new design you cannot revert and go back to the old one. Read more about the new interface we've designed here: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?
Make sure you're also on the latest version of the Fitbit app.
Thanks for your patience while we completely released the new interface to everyone. We hope you're enjoying the improvements that have been made and appreciate all the feedback.
Fitbit Update: 8/6
Hey everyone!
Thanks for all your feedback on the new dashboard design. We're still in the process of releasing it to all of our users. If you don't see it yet, you will have it pushed to you in the coming weeks! This has been a slow process for the past few months to ensure a smooth rollout.
We're currently on app version 3.3, so please make sure as always that you have the latest version of the Fitbit app.
Once we've released this new dashboard to everyone, we will announce it in this thread.
Fitbit Update: 6/17
Hi Fitbit Family,
We are still rolling out our updated Fitbit app design to more users currently with v.2.95. Please make sure to update the Fitbit app by visiting the App store if you haven't already. If you don't see the new dashboard just yet, you will be receiving it at some point in the coming weeks.
Thanks so much for your patience throughout this rollout. To read more about this new dashboard experience, please check this article out: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?
Once this rollout is complete, we will let you all know in this thread.
Fitbit Update: 5/22
Hi everyone!
We’ve rolled out another phase of testing for the new app dashboard experience. If you’re one of the lucky people to see it before the full release, you can read more about it here: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?
We’ll continue to slowly release this to all Fitbit customers on iOS and Android. Once we receive more information on this, we’ll let you know.
Hope you’re all enjoying this new layout!
Fitbit Update: 4/24
Hi everyone!
Beginning today with app v2.92, we're excited to announce a new dashboard experience for the Fitbit app, currently by invitation only. If you are invited to opt-in, you can see the new design and try our new app experience to access all your stats and information in a way that’s more dynamic, integrated, and highly personalized.
You can read more about it in this help article: What's the new Fitbit app experience?
As with all our new dashboard updates, this is a progressive rollout. If you don't have an invitation or see the dashboard immediately, you will receive it later on.
We will update this thread with more information later, so stay tuned!

@greghei1. with still not knitting what scale. If the api on Fitbits end is broken we should be seeing a flood of sync issues, since every third party uses one the same two API's. I just checked my Google sheet and see that the lighter API is still working.

Hi @SunsetRunner, @Jo1987, @Velocity33, @LjubisaP, @MikeKinser, @greghei1, @Richarddorffam, @DALEK_77, @SunsetRunner, @YouLizzie and @SunsetRunner. Thanks for getting back. A warm welcome to our new friends @Hishunni, @rprokic, @Ed60hab, @twingo69, @Lindsaycza, @NatBit65 and @Dieselgirl56!
@Rich_Laue and @SteveH, I'm glad to see you here, and thanks for your great help.
@SunsetRunner, @rprokic, @twingo69, thanks for joining the conversation. While we released a new version for the Fitbit app, our team is still rolling out the new dashboard to all our users. Thanks for the heads up and our team will on this to get it fully released for everybody.
@Jo1987, @LjubisaP and @MikeKinser, thanks for keeping me updated about this situation, as well for trying to download the latest Fitbit app version. I'm sorry that this issue persists, and I appreciate your patience. I've shared your information to our team, so they can further investigate this situation. I'll make sure to update you as soon as I receive more information from them.
@Hishunni, @Velocity33, @greghei1, @Richarddorffam, @Ed60hab, @Lindsaycza, @NatBit65, thanks for stopping by and sharing your feedback about the new dashboard. I'm sorry that you had an inconvenience with the new interface. While there aren't plans to include an option that allows you to switch to the previous dashboard, our team has been reviewing the feedback that is shared in the Community to enhance the functionality of the Fitbit app.
@DALEK_77, thanks for your question. Currently the new updates for the Fitbit app will required you to have iOS 11, as this will ensure a full functionality when connecting your Fitbit device and your iOS mobile. I'm sorry about this inconvenience, and to check which devices are compatible wit iOS 11, see this Apple’s help article.
@SunsetRunner, I was checking the link and it seems that some of our friends helped you to set an alarm. Thanks for bringing this to my attention, as well for the feedback provided about the help article; we'll make sure to work on that. If you're still unable to set an alarm, let me know.
@Dieselgirl56, thanks for your comments. @YouLizzie, thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts about the new dashboard. I'm sorry that you're not able to create challenges. May I know if you see an error message when trying that? If so, please provide me with a screenshot so I can investigate. For instructions to attach a picture, check this post. As @SteveH suggested, please try the following steps:
@SunsetRunner, I'm glad to hear that you found a solution for the notifications not working on your device, and thanks for sharing the steps that you followed. I'm sure others will find it very helpful!
Keep me posted.

Stairs is no longer working since the update. I have tried rebooting Ionic but nothing has been counted in stairs since June 13, 2019. Please fix this. I live in a three story house and this is part of my daily routine.

My app is up to date and I still have the old layout. My daughters app is the newer version. When will mine update?!

There’s nothing strange about it. It’s a gradual rollout.
You should be happy you have the old layout!

You won't want it. I greatly dislike and am looking for a way to go back to the original

How do I go back to the original version? Greatly dislike the new one

I agree, the old version was much better. The new layout is underwhelming compared to the visually appealing aesthetic of the older versions. Why move to a list view? It requires more scrolling and each section doesn't stand out separately as they used to. I use the app all the time, it's disappointing. I hope they give users the option to choose between the older version and the new but it's not looking that way.

I woke up this morning to the new app look and now my device and app aren’t syncing....how can I correct this?
07-10-2019 16:09
07-10-2019 16:09
I agree. The grid view is so much more efficient. I’m thinking of looking at other apps or devices. I don’t see why you can’t have a choice between the two; Grid or List. Now I have to scroll way more to see the same info and there’s a bunch of wasted space. Plus all the icons are smaller. How do you use smaller icons but have more wasted space and less info shown? Also not a fan of the HGTV color scheme. Seems like this was changed just for the sake of change vs for improvement.

07-10-2019 16:19
Exactly. Agreed about the colour scheme too, though I'd be happy just to have the old layout back. The excuse is that it's supposed to improve functionality but I don't find that to be the case. All of the quick view items/progress meters and scales are smaller now. I realize they aren't going to roll back their changes but they could at least listen to customers and provide an option for layout schemes. I get that it's just an app but at the end of the day the app is what I interact with and use the most...it's kind of the whole point. Hopefully they'll listen to customer feedback.

Did Fitbit get feedback from user about changing the app?!? I personally hate. I want the challenges on a separate tab. I want to be about to see MY STATS first not the challenges. With Thai syncing issues I experience with the Versa now this change it truly doesn’t make me want to stay with Fitbit anymore. Change it back! The look isn’t appealing either. It’s much harder to read with the small print. Yet another fail by Fitbit! You should at least act your customers if they want the new look or keep the old.

Yes Fitbit did test marketing and invited some of the beta testers.

My issue is that the food calorie tracking is off on mine. From the dashboard it shows I have X number of calories left, I click through to the food list and meter and then it says i have Y calories left for the day...and they don't match. So frustrating. I called support and they said to log out and login. I did and it worked. Next day, same thing.
