Fitbit Update: 8/15
Hey all!
This week we released the option to opt-in to use the new dashboard to everyone. At this time, everyone should have received the option to opt-in already. If you didn't opt-in, we will transition everyone into the new dashboard in the coming weeks.
A reminder, after you've opted into the new design you cannot revert and go back to the old one. Read more about the new interface we've designed here: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?
Make sure you're also on the latest version of the Fitbit app.
Thanks for your patience while we completely released the new interface to everyone. We hope you're enjoying the improvements that have been made and appreciate all the feedback.
Fitbit Update: 8/6
Hey everyone!
Thanks for all your feedback on the new dashboard design. We're still in the process of releasing it to all of our users. If you don't see it yet, you will have it pushed to you in the coming weeks! This has been a slow process for the past few months to ensure a smooth rollout.
We're currently on app version 3.3, so please make sure as always that you have the latest version of the Fitbit app.
Once we've released this new dashboard to everyone, we will announce it in this thread.
Fitbit Update: 6/17
Hi Fitbit Family,
We are still rolling out our updated Fitbit app design to more users currently with v.2.95. Please make sure to update the Fitbit app by visiting the App store if you haven't already. If you don't see the new dashboard just yet, you will be receiving it at some point in the coming weeks.
Thanks so much for your patience throughout this rollout. To read more about this new dashboard experience, please check this article out: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?
Once this rollout is complete, we will let you all know in this thread.
Fitbit Update: 5/22
Hi everyone!
We’ve rolled out another phase of testing for the new app dashboard experience. If you’re one of the lucky people to see it before the full release, you can read more about it here: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?
We’ll continue to slowly release this to all Fitbit customers on iOS and Android. Once we receive more information on this, we’ll let you know.
Hope you’re all enjoying this new layout!
Fitbit Update: 4/24
Hi everyone!
Beginning today with app v2.92, we're excited to announce a new dashboard experience for the Fitbit app, currently by invitation only. If you are invited to opt-in, you can see the new design and try our new app experience to access all your stats and information in a way that’s more dynamic, integrated, and highly personalized.
You can read more about it in this help article: What's the new Fitbit app experience?
As with all our new dashboard updates, this is a progressive rollout. If you don't have an invitation or see the dashboard immediately, you will receive it later on.
We will update this thread with more information later, so stay tuned!

I’m not sure if you did any user testing before rolling this out (or listened to anyone), but this new design is horrible. I’ve never been more disappointed in Fitbit or a service. It is significantly harder on the eyes, and seems to force everything into a cookie cutter approach. Strongly advice you revert to the old one and take the whole design back to the drawing board. And no this isn’t one of those “you get used to it” times. I can’t think of one thing this new version does that is an improvement over the old. In fact the only thing that is mayyybe on par is the bottom navigation. Rethink your entire design library and themes please and stop punishing us with this horribly ugly app now.

Have transitioned to the interface - love it.
however the only that seems to be tracking is my steps. I have been invited to work week hustle can’t accept it. Sleep isn’t tracking either?
Bug fixes coming??? Please!!

Hi everyone! It's nice to see you all around. Thank you for sharing your feedback and your comments regarding the new Dashboard on the Fitbit app. We really appreciate your opinion. For those that are interested that the old design should be available again, please have a look at the link, that our friend @Sharonalondon shared with us.
@Sharonalondon , thanks for the link to the Feature Request. It will be very helpful to other users.
Please keep me posted.
Hi there. I'm one of those who hate the new dashboard design and want the old design back.
I read the link you provided, it's full of complaint about the terrible design. But would you please tell me what should I do, to that locked discussion?
Your suggestion with real helpful contents would be appreciated.

@JuanFitbit upgraded to new dashboard on iPhone 7 (latest iOS) this morning and the app keeps hanging, and then sometimes crashing. The app has been restarted at least 5 times and its not getting better, its almost unusable. If it matters, I use app with Fitbit scale (step tracker is iPhone).

The new interface is terrible. I vote to bring back the old version! Is there a way to go back if you’ve already updated it??

@KateFitbit You need to show how many calories will be burnt in the day in total! Like you did before...
How is it possible to eat the correct amount otherwise?! Mindboggling...

Apparently we are suck with trash update they think is so wonderful. I hate the new update. It is ugly and nothing is easy to read. Wish we could have the old beautiful layout back. It looks like Fitbit got in bed with Microsoft and it now looks analog instead of advanced

I do not like the new Fitbit dashboard on iOS. I am visually impaired, and always use the voice over feature on my iPhone. The voice over feature with the new app, either reads everything all at once, or does not read anything at all. The last dashboard was much better, it read everything as you touched it, it was much easier to find what you needed.
In addition to this, there are certain things that I cannot find at all. One of those is, the feature to look at my stats or different days. All it will let me do is look at my stats for the day that is currently in progress. Please fix these features, or allow us to revert back to the old dashboard. Thank you very much.

@RicardoFitbit I think the comment that @Clinton7 makes about the new dashboard being dys/non-functional for the visually impaired is something that you should not simply shove into the pile of other comments made about the new dashboard in this thread.
The Americans with Disabilities Act speaks to the need for tech companies to make appropriate accommodations for disabled people.

If you value customer feedback then you will hopefully take onboard that your updated app sucks!!! It isn’t user friendly and I along with many others are now looking at Fitbit alternatives.
Please at least give us an update that allows customers to choose their dashboard style as with the clock face options

Honestly, I am not a fan of the Dashboard's new look and would like the option to revert to the original. How about it?

I think when they bring it back and give a a choice they should call it the RETRO dashboard or the slimmed down version instead of old and new dashboard.

"we are always striving to improve the Fitbit experience with our products and services, therefore, such information help us to evaluate that we are delivering what our Fitbit users need and want. "
If that was true, you would implement the option of choosing a version of the dashboard, as many people have already stated that they prefer that. I was a fan of Fitbit until this update. The new dashboard is really awful and there is no "getting used to it". It simply demotivated me from using the Fitbit, which is a shame.
So please, REALLY listen to the users and implement the option to choose for the old app dashboard.

I really do hope that the feedback shared here is being relayed to the developers working on the UI. The specific concern about accessibility for people with visual impairment is concerning and I wasn’t aware of it before.
Two of the things that are most frustrating to me right now are related to challenges. One is functionality that isn’t working properly and one is preference (or common sense):
- when invited to a challenge, the preview challenge doesn’t work. At all. So I can’t see who is in it, or if it’s already been going on for a couple days, or anything. Cant see any of the info to decide whether I want to join. And there are some creeps on here who send a bunch of unsolicited DMs and I would like to avoid being in challenges with them, but can’t if I don’t know who is in there.
- the idea of being able to personalize the order of the landing page in the app was probably a good one. But if I always care about my stats more than any challenges I’m in, why would my settings not become the default for me (eg challenges at the bottom, active challenges above ended challenges)? Every time I get a new challenge invite it automatically pops in the top spot and pushes the data I actually care about down. I have to drag it down every time. It doesn’t make sense. There’s also not enough info about the challenges to be able to sort out which are which, so if I have 5 WWH in a week, and 2 from the prior week still showing, its trial and error to get the current ones to show above the old ones.
Overall I’m disappointed in the response from Fitbit. I worked in software and I know how hard it is to get people to adopt a new UI. But it doesn’t seem that adequate testing was performed and I can’t imagine that you solicited user feedback before implementing these changes. At the end of the day, whether Fitbit thinks it’s more aesthetically pleasing or not, it is harder to see and access my data. The home screen is essentially useless as I’m required to drill into each section to see my stats. Perhaps the new UI was designed to get people to spend more time in the app, not to enhance functionality.
I guess its it’s time to switch to a different product and app. I’m sure I won’t be the only one. 🤷🏻:female_sign:

You repeating this “everybody hated the last interface too!” in your messages, how exactly is it helping the users in this thread who are frustrated with the new design? The daily usage of the app is a functional and emotional experience. It’s the job of Fitbit’s product development and UX teams to take on feedback and monitor the needs and wants of users to create a product that is usable, intuitive and aesthetically pleasing. And not make excuses or blame customers for bad design that has not been properly tested.
I would assume Fitbit has a professional UX team that knows at the very least what A/B Testing is.
