Fitbit Update: 8/15

Hey all!

This week we released the option to opt-in to use the new dashboard to everyone. At this time, everyone should have received the option to opt-in already. If you didn't opt-in, we will transition everyone into the new dashboard in the coming weeks.

A reminder, after you've opted into the new design you cannot revert and go back to the old one. Read more about the new interface we've designed here: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?

Make sure you're also on the latest version of the Fitbit app.

Thanks for your patience while we completely released the new interface to everyone. We hope you're enjoying the improvements that have been made and appreciate all the feedback.

Fitbit Update: 8/6

Hey everyone!

Thanks for all your feedback on the new dashboard design. We're still in the process of releasing it to all of our users. If you don't see it yet, you will have it pushed to you in the coming weeks! This has been a slow process for the past few months to ensure a smooth rollout.

We're currently on app version 3.3, so please make sure as always that you have the latest version of the Fitbit app

Once we've released this new dashboard to everyone, we will announce it in this thread.

Fitbit Update: 6/17

Hi Fitbit Family,

We are still rolling out our updated Fitbit app design to more users currently with v.2.95. Please make sure to update the Fitbit app by visiting the App store if you haven't already. If you don't see the new dashboard just yet, you will be receiving it at some point in the coming weeks.

Thanks so much for your patience throughout this rollout. To read more about this new dashboard experience, please check this article out: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?

Once this rollout is complete, we will let you all know in this thread.

Fitbit Update: 5/22

Hi everyone!

We’ve rolled out another phase of testing for the new app dashboard experience. If you’re one of the lucky people to see it before the full release, you can read more about it here: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?

We’ll continue to slowly release this to all Fitbit customers on iOS and Android. Once we receive more information on this, we’ll let you know.

Hope you’re all enjoying this new layout!

Fitbit Update: 4/24

Hi everyone!

Beginning today with app v2.92, we're excited to announce a new dashboard experience for the Fitbit app, currently by invitation only. If you are invited to opt-in, you can see the new design and try our new app experience to access all your stats and information in a way that’s more dynamic, integrated, and highly personalized.

You can read more about it in this help article: What's the new Fitbit app experience?

As with all our new dashboard updates, this is a progressive rollout. If you don't have an invitation or see the dashboard immediately, you will receive it later on.

We will update this thread with more information later, so stay tuned!

Well, all... it's been fun.  It's clear we'll get no response or action.  I'm off Fitbit as of today.  Loving my competitor watch and all synching so wonderfully.  I had two watches on my wrist for the last week, and Fitbit failed the test.  Good luck!

Well I just updated to 2.95, and the premium ad at the top had a dismissed button, which I pressed. I pleased about that.

And the heart rate details/zoomed screen is auto scaling now, so that makes it more useful, again thank you..

So I feel listened to. Thank you..

I absolutely HATE the new dashboard. I don’t think it looks as nice and I really wish that I had not been chosen to “experience” it. I want my old dashboard back! I was never even asked to be a part of this, it just happened. The old version is more pretty and more encouraging. When you meet all of your goals for the day in the new app, it’s just a super dull color that fills in the bubble, not an encouraging green and special effect thing like in the old version. It really sucks. Everything about the new dashboard is simplistic and not as useful. Go back to the old dashboard, please.

Hi @Ridgeberry, @SunsetRunner, @SunsetRunner, @Lsweet@SarahRy@Fortheloveofgod@StarrC@GoDark@CrazyLAGirl@BreNZ@ShanJ@richmix, @SunsetRunner, @cpd160592@bwa35. I'm glad to see you around. @Amshuman, @Polymaths, @Gweekie, @AnnaRam1991, @NexusOne, @aquatica, @Cloughie68, @Charesme, @KentRR, @Maevamayes, @simeonpilgrim, @SunsetRunner and @kangasle, welcome to the Community Forums. @Rich_Laue, thanks for stopping by. It's always nice to hear from you. I do apologize for the delay in my response, and thanks to all of you for participating in this thread.

@Ridgeberry, thanks for sharing your feedback about the new dashboard. @Amshuman and @aquatica, thanks for letting me know about the syncing issues that you've had. The All day sync feature will not affect your Fitbit device battery, however since your devices aren't syncing correctly, please confirm if there are other other devices with the Bluetooth enabled nearby, as this will interfere with the syncing process. Also, if you've not done so, try the following steps:

  1. Remove your device from the Bluetooth settings.
  2. Turn the Bluetooth off and back on.
  3. Open the Fitbit app and tap the Account icon.
  4. Tap on your Fitbit device's image and then on notifications.
  5. Follow the onscreen instructions to pair via Bluetooth.

@SunsetRunner, I appreciate your thoughts about the new dashboard, as well for the picture provided. I see where are you coming from about the advertisement prompted in the Fitbit app. This is prompted to some of our users just to inform about our sale, and I'm sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. Our team constantly works on our products and services to improve them based on the Community posts.

@SunsetRunner, @Lsweet@SarahRy@Fortheloveofgod@Polymaths@AnnaRam1991@NexusOne@richmix, @SunsetRunner, @Cloughie68@Charesme@bwa35@KentRR@Maevamayes and @kangasle, thanks a million for taking the time to share your feedback and I'm sorry for any inconvenience that you have experienced with this new design. Currently there isn't an option to switch back to the old version, but our team keeps working on all our products and services to enhance your experience based on the Community posts. Your comments will not be taken for granted.

@CrazyLAGirl, thanks for sharing your comments about this update, as well for the screenshot shared. I see your point of view and I'm sorry about the inconvenience with the new look of the Fitbit app. Fitbit always takes our users feedback for any improvement, and we'll keep working on our products based on every suggestion posted here. You're always welcome back to the Fitbit family.

@StarrC, thanks for getting back, as well for your comments about the Fitbit app. The link shared by @MarcoGFitbit will bring you an idea already posted by another member in the Feature Suggestions board. This place is where you can submit new ideas or support them by adding a vote so our team can look at them and bring improvements in the future. I'm sorry about the confusion, and thanks for letting me know about it.

@GoDark, thanks for bringing this to my attention. Have you tried logging out and back in to get the information displayed correctly? Also, about your other inquiry, I'd recommend to check this help article so you can change the units for the Weather app.

@BreNZ, thanks for stopping by and sharing your feedback about the Fitbit app. Make sure to also review the great information that @Gweekie shared with you. Let me know if you find difficulties to add an alarm.

@ShanJ, I'm sorry for the issues that you've encounter with the new dashboard. Thanks for the screenshot, as well for letting me know that you've created a new account. Your feedback is truly appreciated; this shouldn't have happened and if you notice any similar situation, even with the old dashboard, feel free to let me know.

@cpd160592, thanks for your feedback, as well for letting me know that you've had issues to sync with MyFitnessPal. A few weeks ago, they posted in their site that there were aware about the syncing issues experienced with Fitbit. According to their last update, it seems to have been resolved but if you're still having issues with it, I'd recommend to check the information posted in their website, or contact them for further assistance.

@simeonpilgrim, thanks for the screenshots provided. I'm glad to hear that your information is now showing correctly in the Fitbit app, as well that the ad disappeared after tapping on the dismissed button. I appreciate your comments and we'll make sure to work on our services so it can meet your needs.

@SunsetRunner, thanks for letting me know that the old dashboard is still displayed. As with all our new dashboard updates, our team is still progressively rolling out this update, but thanks for the heads up.

I'll be around if you need anything else.

No other Bluetooth devices in my household. I have already been through all the troubleshooting including your suggestion and none solved the problem. It began with an update in December and has persisted. As to the battery life, it just isn’t plausible that connecting more often wouldn’t drain the battery faster— I trust logic and my experience more than your statement of assurance.

Sorry, as the developers of the software, you are in charge of what it looks like. If you update the UI, and make it worse (as you’ve admitted in many of the responses) then Yes You Can accept you made a mistake and undo the changes.

We *don’t* want to hear that you say you are listening to us, we just want problems fixed. No excuses, no statement late devoid of meaning and certainly no “we hear you”’s.

Fix the UI.

It’s also counting stairs incorrectly. I’ve been on flat surfaces or driving and it says I’ve gone up 116 flights!

I think the new interface is not nearly as good as the old interface. It looks more depressing with bland colors that are not differentiated. The old interface had easier at a glance information. Please rethink this. It reminds me of what happened when Nokia took over Withings app - which is why I left them for Fitbit.

uhg my app says they are unveiling the new interface tomorrow. I have been so happy to not have to use it since i returned my inspire and went back to my old account on my phone.  I really hoped with all the bad feedback they didn't release it too all

@Ridgeberry stairs are counted by your tracker, not the dashboard.

Stairs also are counted by looking at the changes in air pressure. Having a window open will affect the air pressure and may add floors. If it is a windy day, this would also affect the air pressure reading.

But maybe the tracker simply needs restarting.

@SunsetRunner if this is something the Fitbit developers need to fix, then there will not be much, or anything that a user will be able to do to fix this. It also might take a little time to figure out what is causing the issue, and the fix should come after the source has been found.

@SunsetRunner personally I find this dashboard a refreshing change. They have already fixed the challenge problem, this dashboard has addressed the few things the users have been begging for, and in the past every change in dashboard has been greeted with complaints or praises. Technically the dashboard you want back is 3 downgraded from the perfect first dashboard that no one likes now.

My app was also updated without being asked and I no longer can see ANY of my stats, it sends me to a totally different app (which I deleted thinking that would stop it, but if hasn’t) very frustrating Also can’t see workweek challenge with coworkers and now can’t rollback to the old app. One very unhappy customer!!!!!!!!

I guess according to my email they are rolling this exciting new app out to everyone because we all "Liked" it so much.  Can't believe that.  I guess these young designers were not around when "New Coke" rolled out after the test markets said "Do Not Change Our Coke" and they had to then off coke classic within months as no one would buy the new coke and eventually new coke went away to continue with coke classic as just Coca Cola.  And fitbit thinks it's big enough to force it on people?  maybe they need to update code security or code language and this is why they feel that need the update but they could keep the look the same and just update the code.  Maybe they'll learn when it costs them money as many drop fitbit and complaints after.

It’s a disaster- tells me 2 different things about my calories even after synching. The other day I accidentally had over 300 calories because of this stupidity. So unbelievably annoyed. Need some mega bug fixes ASAP 9FD71883-7AAF-42D7-AF48-482ED7B40F8E.png

No windows were open. I wasn’t in wind. I restarted the tracker and it is still counting way more stairs than I have possibly done. So...?

The device works by measuring change in air pressure, and assumes this is equal to change in elevation (as with a change in elevation there is a change in air pressure). So if there was a large change in the weather (which changes air pressure), you just "climbed stairs"...

Yeah, that sounds like a cop out to me. There’s no radical shift in air pressure on a day with no rain, at near sea level, when my activity isn’t different than it was months ago. The change is the updates. Listen to your customers: your programming team has issues and the new app versions are full of bugs.

What was it users were “begging for” that this dashboard gives?

Hi @Ridgeberry@Polymaths@Parkersspace and @simeonpilgrim, I'm glad to hear from you. @billymxli90, @SunsetRunner, @Hodgey28@Tatdewar, welcome to the Community. @Rich_Laue, thanks for stopping by. You were very helpful.

@Ridgeberry, thanks for your efforts in trying my suggestions and I'm sorry to hear that the issue persists. Also, thanks for letting me know that the floors are also inaccurate. I've gone ahead and requested a case for you so our Support Team can give you a hand. Keep an eye on your inbox.

About your other inquiry, while the battery will increase if you manually sync often, the All day sync has been tested by our team to not affect the battery life.

@Polymaths@billymxli90, @SunsetRunner, @Parkersspace and @Hodgey28, thanks for taking the time to post your comments about the new dashboard. I'm sorry for the inconvenience that you've experienced with this change and Fitbit will make sure to keep reviewing your feedback and improve our services based on that.

@Tatdewar, thanks for letting me know that the calories haven't been recorded correctly, as well for the screenshots provided. I see your point of view and I'm sorry for the inconvenience that you've had with this situation. To further investigate, please confirm if the same is displayed on the online dashboard. Also, let me know your iPhone's model, iOS version and Fitbit app version.

@simeonpilgrim, I'm glad that you were around. Your post is very helpful and I'm sure others think the same.

Keep me posted.
