I am trying to enable location services on my iPhone6 so that I can track my runs with GPS. But the Fitbit app is not showing up in list of apps in Settings>Privacy>Location Services. How do I enable this?

Hi everyone. It's great to see you here in the Forums and I'm sorry for the delayed response.

Hello @GregAustin, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. It's nice to see you too @SunsetRunner, thanks for keeping our boards organized.
@GregAustin, I appreciate your participation in the Forums and for bringing this to our attention. At this moment, I would like to ask you to go to your phone Settings > Fitbit and you will be able to find "Location". Set it to Always in order to track your GPS runs from the app or by using your Fitbit device with connected GPS.
I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and let us know the outcome.

Hello @GregAustin, I hope you're doing well, thanks for taking the time to reply.
At this moment, I would like to suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the app. However, before uninstalling it, sync your device one more time. Note that the information synced from your Fitbit device gets stored in our servers and not in your phone, which means that if you uninstall the app, once you install it and log in, you'll still be able to see the data synced before.
I hope this helps, give it a try and let us know the outcome.

Thanks @MarcoGFitbit ! I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and that solved it. I was able to set Location tracking to Always On, and it is now showing within Settings>LocationServices. All is working well.

Hi, any clues what to do when a fresh install doesn’t return Fitbit to location services?
Thanks Damian

Hello @DamianP thanks for joining the conversation, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community.
I appreciate your participation in the Forums and for sharing your experience with us. If "Location Services" are still not set up correctly when you install the Fitbit app, please go to your phone Settings > Fitbit > Location Services and set them manually to Always.
Then, go back and force-quit everything in your phone. Open the Fitbit app and if you're still getting a message to set up Location Services, please let us know.
Thanks for your patience and understanding, give this a try and let us know the outcome.

I just purchased a charge 3 today and synced it to my iphone 11 pro. I have completed the set-up process. However, when I go to the fit bit settings, the location is set to "ask". I've attempted to change this to "always" but it is reverting to "ask". I uninstalled the app and am having the same problem. How do I resolve this?

Marco - I am able to click on location which gives me four options (always, never, ask, only when using). The current default is "ask". I am able to click on "always", the check mark moves from ask to always. However, as soon as I exit the selection screen and return to fit bit settings, the location setting reverts back to "ask". I've unistalled the app, restarted my phone, reset bluetooth, and nothing fixes this. Please help.

I just received my Charge 3, two days ago and I’m having the same issue with an iPhone 8 Plus with the latest updates, as noted in the posts above mine. You cannot change the location settings in the under location services. It immediately reverts back to “ask”. The steps above do absolutely nothing to fix the issue between a Charge 3 and the iPhone location services. This is obviously an issue multiple people are having and it needs to addressed. This is not a good look for Fitbit customer service.

When I've tried to switch it from Ask to Always it automatically switches back to Ask when I exit settings. I've uninstalled, revoked permission, rebooted. Any advice would be appreciated!

Someone else posted this response in a different thread and I believe I’m the instructions are more concise than mine.
Let’s start by tapping your exercise tile in the Fitbit app. If you don’t have the exercise tile showing in the main page of the Fitbit app (where all your current challenges are) then tap Discover at the bottom left, then tap Health & Fitness Stats, then find exercise and tap it. Look to the bottom and tap “Add to today”.... that will pop you back to the main page. Now find the exercise tile and tap it. Look to the upper left and tap the stopwatch icon. Now tap “Enable Location Services” , then open settings and make your selection. (If it doesn’t let you select always then select when using the app) .....now go back to the Fitbit app and answer WiFi prompt. Now go directly to your iOS setting and now you can change it to always.

This did work, but it is absurd one has to go through all of this obscure, absolute nonsense to get the app location services set to always.

This did work, thank you, but it didn't help my main problem of my watch and phone all of a sudden seldom syncing. I will continue my search. Thanks for helping me to rule that out.
