For the last few months I noticed my app does not record my inspire steps accurately. Also regularly the steps appear the same before I sleep then get reduced overnight even after successfully completing goal. Occurs all of the time, have tried logging in and out, resyncing, reset inspire to get steps correct, checking updates are up to date, switching blue tooth on and off. So fed up I’m now considering buying a competitors tracker instead - any recommendations?
I have photos of this but can’t post them.

Welcome to the forums @Starry2.
Thank you for providing the details regarding this difficulty with your Inspire and thank you for trying to fix it on your own.
Please confirm that you have the app updated and performed the following troubleshooting steps:
In addition, please check up if you are using Mobile track. It is a service that allows you to count steps using your phone even if you forget to wear your Fitbit. You can "unpair" Mobile Track from your account. On your Fitbit app go to the upper left corner, on the phone and device icon. Click on your phone icon and on the 3 dots and choose "unpair".
Best AnswerIf your Fitbit app is reducing step counts overnight, it could be due to syncing errors or incorrect device settings. Regular updates and manual step reviews might help resolve this. Best AnswerI’ve tried all of this. Managed to get the steps recordied accurately during the day by syncing device. But steps on the App nearly always reduce overnight, they are ok when I start sleep but by the morning have reduced again.

Thanks for your reply. I know there’s been a few complaints of this same issue not just on this forum (google it) but Fitbit don’t seem to want to fix or admit it’s definitely an issue with the app. I have photos too.
Thanks for your reply perhaps if enough of us keep complaining they’ll take a proper look at the app
Best AnswerI have the exact same thing happening. Everything is up-to-date and if I have to keep signing out signing in and trying to figure this out every day, this thing is going in the trash! How frustrating to actually meet a goal only to have it reduced and taken away for something designed to do just that!
Thank for responding, it’s very frustrating! When my Inspire eventually packs up I’m going to chose another tracker company because of this. Maybe you could try some of the actions suggested on here but it didn’t work for me. It’s definitely the app though.

Was actually 10216 when I went to bed even got the ‘ target reached’ automatic thing. Then this morning dropped me almost 1000 steps 🤯 resynced it all yesterday so it doesn't work!

This is a weird one. Showed correct steps for yesterday until 1035 today when it reduced yesterday’s steps by 412. The App only seems to have been doing this to me from late last year, something to do with Google perhaps?
