You can still get your sleep average, just not on the app. To view it, you need to log into your account on the website. You will also need to access the website on something with a larger screen (or at least I had to) than your phone. You will need to scroll down a page to see the information which I was unable to do on my Samsung s10 android phone. 🙂

My fitbit app just introduced sleep scores last week and I love it. Its formula is based on a reasonably objective set of criteria as the absolute number of sleep hours tells us nothing (apart from a descriptive number in a void). It's a qualitative measure in addition to the quantitative one.
I don't understand the level of whining on this thread about a great feature. Several users have shown that the old feature of seeing sleep hours has not gone, it just requires an extra tap. Hardly the end of the world. Count it towards your daily calories.
And having a high adversity to being "judged" speaks about other underlying issues than a software update.

I don’t need an app to grade me. To use your analogy, it’s like getting a grade on your food consumption from MyFitnessPal rather than the macros I use the app for to track.

@HappyFitAdventr unlike food consumption, sleep research is significantly less contentious (i do sleep research). There IS an ideal sleep and there are objective factors that prevent you from achieving it (linear relationships with the amount of caffeine and alcohol intake, the time of day of caffeine intake, bedtime and wake up times; how much time you spend in each sleep stage, etc).
But trying to make your analogy work: what would be so bad in getting feedback on the way one combines their macros? If a person's carbs intake represented 70% of their macros, perhaps a feedback on that would do them good.

This is a board created for us to provide feedback to FitBit and share our views. Not everyone has to like them. Many of us may change to another device because this stat is so important to us.
I’m not even going to delve into macros with you. We are clearly in entirely different pages and suspect anyone who cares about macros would agree.

Hi I completely understand that some people like it, and that's great. The issue I, and lots of people i know have, is that a useful stat has been removed and our devices don't have the functionality to use the new score so it simply say 0 at all times. So a useful item has been replaced by a waste of space. If it worked, was an improvement or at least an equivalent insight then I would be quite happy 😀

Since the sleep score appeared, I can't find my weekly sleep time anymore.
(Even in the other screens).
Please allow roll back the change or allow us To choose between the score and the average time.
Thanks.

They are trying to force us to pay for FITBIT PREMIUM!!!! That’s why they changed it! Disgusting..... I’ll be switching over to Garmin or Apple Watch and recommending that my family and friends do the same. Immediately selling my Alta HR on eBay.

The major frustration for me is that as far as I can tell, my device is not capable of giving a "sleep score". Devices that don't do sleep stages don't do sleep scores, apparently. So it's not just that it's displaying different information, which is useful in a different way--it's displaying no information at all, which is completely useless.
At the very least, the average hours should be an option for devices that don't give a score. Otherwise we just see "0 sleep score" where we used to see information. Sure, that information was incomplete, but it was better than nothing. Now we get nothing.

@Lucammxi that's great that the feature works so well for you. Those of us on a device that doesn't track heart rate, like my Flex 2, get a broken experience. No sleep score is calculated since we don't have sleep stage tracking, which means we all see a big fat 0 for sleep score. We also can't see the screen that you mention that still has average sleep hours on the stages screen, since again that isn't available to us. All we see is a Times Awake screen in its place. Hopefully that explains why people are "whining" to someone like you who didn't understand that we are not sharing the same user experience.

Then how come I have 0 Sleep Score Avg each and every week? Either it doesn't work for my device or I don't know how to use it. In either case, the fact that I'm not happy about having 'no option' is a pleasant experience. User experience matters, doesn't it?

I really miss the average sleep number. The graph does not give the average amount of sleep. The sleep score is interesting but I need actual average amount of sleep. A real number. Can we have a choice of what shows in the header.

Have you figured out a solution? I am having the same problem as you and I'm livid over this update and change. So ridiculous that they did this nonsense. Been using a Fitbit over five years and the average sleep for the week is literally my favorite feature.

This isn’t a solution to the question. The graph doesn’t calculate your average sleep hours.
I think Fitbit broke one of my favorite features with this new software release - I want my average sleep hours back!!
