Fitbit Update 5/5

I have great news!  We have pushed out a fix in the latest version (2.22.1) that resolves this problem. Click here to be redirected to the iOS App Store. Thanks for bringing this issue to our attention.

Fitbit Update 5/1
It was recently pointed out that some iOS users are missing their sync progress bar and battery indicator on their dashboard after updating to Fitbit iOS App version 2.22. In order to investigate this issue, can you please provide the following information:

  1. What type of iOS device are you using?
  2. What iOS version is it running (ie iOS 9.3, iOS 8, etc)?
  3. Does the problem persist after logging out of the App and then back in?

Thanks in advance for your help!

I am using an iphone 5, ios 9.3.1, and the problem of missing Fitbit device name, sync and battery status is fixed temporarily by logging out and back in, but then goes missing again a short time later

I have the iPhone 5, running the 9.3, and it helps logging out and back in, but it will also disappear again. I have to log out and in 2-3 times a day.

So far, I have found that leaving the app in the Hourly Activity screen instead of the dashboard stops the device panel from disappearing. This is a lot easier than either login out and back in or double click and swip up to close the app. I will next see if leaving the app in one of the other panels (eg workout) also stop the sync/battery level panel from disappearing.

Doesn't that drain the battery of the tracker? I'll try that, thank you. Yes logging out and in is a pain, plus I have to wait for my food log to appear. I know there are glitches with all things, I am patient.

1) iPhone 6S Plus
2) iOS 9.3.1
3) It has come back every time I force quit the app and reopen it (i.e. Swipe up in app switcher), so I haven't tried anything else.

I'll try to pay more attention to see if I can find out a potential cause. What I do know is that the bar never (i.e. not within a few hours, which is how long I've left it to check) comes back on its own, only after a force close.

Additional information that may help:
Fitbit device is a Surge, I sync data with MyFitnessPal.
The last occurrence was after tracking an exercise on watch, but I have both tracked exercise without an occurrence and had it occur not immediately following exercise.

1.  Apple iPhone 6 plus

2.  IOS 9.3.1

3.  Fitbit App Version 2.22

Periodically the sync bar disappears from the app, but when I kill the app and restart it appears again.

Hi Miriam. I have to apologize for not replying sooner, but have been so busy! Thank you for taking the time to answer me. I don't think I explained the problem properly. At the top of the app on my iPad is a small section saying "Charge HR", with an indicator saying my Fitbit is syncing (which says "connected" when it is done) and an indicator to show the level of battery charge. That section was missing entirely from the Dashboard, but the Fitbit did in fact sync, even though there was nothing to indicate it was happening until the number of steps taken suddenly updated. I was anxious to get the battery indicator back as well. Mysteriously, after my post in the community, I found this missing section under My Account! Just as mysteriously, the next day the section reappeared where it should have been, the following day it was back under My Account, and today it is back in the Dashboard. For the time being I will leave everything and see what happens.

@Shellpiercy @Garryco Our engineers are currently working on resolving this issue, I don't have a time frame of when the fix will be available, but we are trying to push it out as soon as possible.

As a short-term workaround, I've seen instances on this thread where logging out of the App and then back in has helped, as well as restarting your iOS device.

Apologies for any potential inconvenience!

Thank you very much .
I've reset my I phone & iPad as well , it's come back on .
Fingers crossed it stays on this time .
I rely on the battery charge on the dashboard as well as other users .
Thank you again
I don't know what I would do without my fit bit now .
Was out of sorts as I thought I'd done something !!
Cheers

Hi Derrick, I posted to this thread yesterday - the best "fix" is to clear the apps from apple product's homescreen. I did it yesterday and the dashboard was fine all day. Started out OK this morning, then lost the status again. Cleared the apps again and it has been fine all day. This is the longest lasting work around until the issue is completely resolved. The process has worked for others as well.

Thank you for the attention. It does help, sometimes. I've learned to work around it. It is on the account screen. I'll also try restarting my iOS device. Thank you again. We do love our Fitbits. Also this is not the case with androids. My husbands android still hasn't gotten the update. Then again, his phone is the dumbest smart phone available.
