Hello _ I've been trying to adjust to the new app. I miss the ability to see my steps, miles, etc week after week in one view. OK, I've accepted that. Now, as of today, the app no longer shows my heart rate info for an individual exercise session. All I see is a bar telling me how many 'zone' minutes I have for the day. I can see the information on the website version, but I'd like to see it on the app as I could before. Does anyone know if there's something I'm missing? I tried everything I could think of, but no luck. I'm very sad about it.

I am suffering with the new app. Terrible decisions. We should demand a roll back to prior version.

I hadn’t thought of that…I’ve never used the dashboard which is why I’m so annoyed with this latest update. Just looked and all are identified by activity, no mention of source.

Yes, I am very sad too and don't understand why they did this. I have primarily used my app to view my heart rate for my exercise sessions, relying on both the heart rate graph for each exercise (which nicely tagged the highest bpm within the exercise session), plus the average heart rate for that session. Then I could compare that average with others in the past. I cannot get that info on my app any longer. The heart rate info on the app now lumps together the entire day and fails to provide bpm averages. Some of this info is available on the webpage dashboard, but I rarely go there. I hope they bring back the info we have had for a long time, or at a minimum explain to their users why they are doing this. (The whole transition to the basic black and white is just boring

What I'm seeing is this:
- Heart rate and zone minutes info missing for auto-recognized activities
- Heart rate and zone minutes info sometimes doesn't appear for manually-tracked exercises. Sometimes only the zone minutes appear, and sometimes I have to go back to the list and tap the exercise again one or two or more times to see the heart rate graph.
The former seems to have been a choice, and they need to revert that change. The latter seems like a bug.

I used to have my Fitbit auto log my walks and aerobic workouts. Or I would manually add them. I could always click on the workout and see a graph of my heart rate with zones. Since the new app update, that graph is gone. I now can only find the full day heart rate graph and can’t zoom in on the time during my work out. Has that function just moved or is it gone?

This happened to me too and it's terrible!!
The yellow/orange/red heartrate zones - as well as the reporting of the peak heart rate - during a workout are the app features I'd most use and track.
And now their simply gone, even historically too ! Bring them back please!
The workout analysis bargraph and it's peak rate are why I've not switched to an Apple or Garmin watch. And now??

For IOS, select Exercise Days and then you exercise. It will show you the graph and give some percentages in the various zones for that workout. Unfortunately, this will present other issues like only displaying full minutes, not the actual exercise time.

I’m so DEPRESSED by this ‘new’ app. Interval is not fun anymore.
Where are the graphs with the diffrent colours for heartzones??? It was not only fun but also gave good insight in my training!!
This is to little training info. I stopped premium when the new boring app came but this update now also killed the graphs. I loved fitbit but I will look for another sportwatch to continue training instead of this **** if the zonegraphs wont come back…

I need this too!!! My doctor tracks my heart rate during exercise. I can see my heart rate on the device while I'm exercising, but I really need the line graph. The information I can now see under exercise details isn't helpful at all. It's time for me to get a new device, and if this doesn't return on the app, I may have to, sadly, move away from Fitbit.

I do t want to see the HR graph for the whole day. I want to see the 30 min sprints. I used to see my heart rate for just my exercise period. Now it’s just the whole day and you can’t zone in. Personally this new app is terrible. I can’t even scroll the forum without it locking up. Not a fan

Totally agree. The new active zone minute display is pitiful. Bring back the color coded bar graph!

I am seeing this in several posts, but am incredulous, so want to confirm:
- Most people who purchase fitness watches do so because they want to track their heart rate intensity during exercise. Otherwise, a regular watch or basic heart rate monitor would suffice. People do this for important medical and health reasons, including requiring the ranges for exercise protocols that must stick to medical requirements. For many, features like sleep are a nice bonus but not the reason for their purchase.
- Previously, you could click on a workout and it would show a graph with peak, vigorous, and light intensity zones (rather than the less medically relevant “fat burn” and “cardio” zones). This would help assure people they are meeting their fitness or medical goals. Fitbit has, just this month, removed the graph. This effectively removes the primary purpose of Fitbit for many users.
Am I understanding this correctly?
I, for one, am following a strict medical protocol that requires me to know the time spend in vigorous vs moderate zones, which do not adequately correspond to “cardio.”
I cannot understand why Fitbit would render their product almost useless in addressing its primary purpose to a solid percentage of its users. If this is all true, I’m in shock. Most people who invest in a fitness watch are looking for actual insights into their data.
My husband has been encouraging me to “upgrade” to the Apple Watch, but I’ve always said mine does as much as I need and is slimmer and more feminine. Fitbit has made this change right before Christmas - do they realize that many people are now going to make a switch and request a different watch from loved ones as a direct result of this?

They didn't remove the graph or the "Time in each zone" breakdown, not for manually-recorded (started on-device) exercises anyway. Source: I'm looking at it right now for my Charge 6 in v4.06 of the iOS app. It's just really slow to load, sometimes takes over 15 seconds. Seems better than in v4.04, but not the instantaneous load like we got in the old app.
It does seem to be missing for auto-recognized activities, though. I don't see it for a Walk I have that got auto-recognized last week. I never really looked at those before, other than to be amused that mowing my lawn would get recognized as "Outdoor Bike", so I don't recall if it was there or not in the old app.

@HokieDNA01 I'm observing (in v4.06, with a Charge 6) that my workouts that are recorded by starting them on-device show HR graph and the AZM data, but auto-recognized ones do not. The recorded ones don't always show the HR graph and AZM data immediately when opening the exercise, and sometimes it takes so long that I have to go to another screen and come back. One user in another thread said they tap the 'edit' pencil icon and then tap "Back" and it appears, and this usually works for me as well if it takes longer than 15 or so sec for the data to appear.
@LizzyFitbit - this and several other threads on the topic seem to be desperate for information. Is this issue being looked at? I saw you mentioned the issue about being unable to rename/recategorize workouts was on the team's radar, just wondering if this one is as well. Bit of a storm on r/Fitbit about it as well.

@mikey_pdx I agree with your observation that the heart rate graph is in the details when you use the Exercise app on the device, but is missing from auto-recognized activities. I gave specific feedback to Fitbit about the auto-recognized heart rate graph. This graph has been there since 2015, when Fitbit released this feature. I hope Fitbit reverses its decision and puts the heart rate back.

This may or may not be a reason to stick with fitbit, but you can access the V3.xx style exercise graphics (with h:mm:ss duration and correct pace calculation) from the V4.06 fitbit app. It's ridiculous to have to go through these machinations to view this data, but it is available on the V4.06 app.

Unfortunately I’m seeing it for everything, tracked or detected, since the 4.04 update. It doesn’t matter how long I wait for the data to load.
However, there’s some rumors that it is a bug. People are also seeing their Fitbit app freeze after the update.
Some people can get the details to appear if they click “edit” and come back. My details appeared for a tracked workout after opening it, navigating away, then coming back to the app a while later. Then it disappeared when I came back. That doesn’t work for a detected workout. I also can’t try the “edit” technique on a longer workout because it freezes.
There are both Apple and Android users who are having no issues. It sounds like this issue happening to some users as well as soon as they update to 4.04, but not all users. They can log on to the website to see their data exists, or can share and get a graph (if the app doesn’t freeze), but the graph doesn’t have all the detailed numbers. They also can no longer change their workout type.

Hi everyone, and welcome to our new members.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention, the screenshot and the time taken while troubleshooting the Fitbit app. I understand how you're feeling and I'm sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. We continue working on our products to improve them, and your comments are a big part of that process.
Regarding the heart rate data not appearing on your manually logged and SmartTrack exercises, I've escalated this situation to our team so they can investigate what may be occurring, and get it resolved as soon as possible.
Once again, I appreciate your feedback regarding this matter, and please know I'll update this thread once I receive new information from our team.

@Triletics I track heart rate on the Fitbit but distance on my phone with MapMyRide, so both I suppose. Fitbit I let auto detect, but select activity and start/stop on MapMyRide.
