No HR data for manual and SmartTrack exercises on iOS

Hello _ I've been trying to adjust to the new app. I miss the ability to see my steps, miles, etc week after week in one view. OK, I've accepted that. Now, as of today, the app no longer shows my heart rate info for an individual exercise session. All I see is a bar telling me how many 'zone' minutes I have for the day. I can see the information on the website version, but I'd like to see it on the app as I could before. Does anyone know if there's something I'm missing? I tried everything I could think of, but no luck. I'm very sad about it.

Not true, graph not showing.

It’s an absolute joke. I’m so annoyed with this I was thinking about leaving but now I know for sure.

I share the same sentiment. Please Fitbit, listen to your customers and bring back the better features in the app. The ‘time in each zone’ section only shows on some of my workouts but not all. As a customer, we get used to these features and then when they stop showing consistently with the new app, the product becomes less desirable to use.

It is not a Premium feature.  I have Premium and do not see the details we used to see.  Very frustrated with this new App.  Clearly the developers do not exercise and are not users of the App.  Consulting the users would go a long way.  I hear the frustration.  I have seen two other blogs all stating the same.  You'd think they'd listen to the end user...

Nope do not see that.  Do you have an Android or iPhone?  I have iPhone and swiping up sends the App home.  Tried swiping sideways and down. Nothing.  Very frustrating.

I have an iPhone. The time in zone features are showing up roughly on 15% of my workouts and of those, they are the longer ones. Those features used to show for all workouts and now it’s sparingly. The stats also don’t show up right away, there’s a lag time. Terrible product experience. #verydisastisfiedlongtimecustomer

I have the same issue. I’m using iOS iPhone 15 Pro

Totally agree !  This is so frustrating.  and the amount of time spent trawling through forums trying to work out if there is a solution - with no responses from Fitbit.

I hate the new 'workout' data screen - i do have the graph, but it's hard to read, colours are depressing and murky, and it's impossible to see peak and minimum HR.

Why is there not HR-specific data in data screen for a prescribed workout ?????  This is bizarre.  The whole point of working out with a device is to have information.  I want to see my min and max HR, and not just # of zone minutes.  Fitbit really need to respond to so many unhappy customers or next time we upgrade our watches, it WON'T be with a Fitbit or google product !

Totally agree with everything you said SDfit123!  I also discovered this issue and thought it was just me not being able to find the right screen for the detail.  I've had Fitbit products for over 10 years and have always loved them.  The App was fine the way it was and its now been "Googled".  I am fine with change, but the app appears to have been developed by people who don't workout.  Very odd.    The whole point of tracking the workouts was to be able to see the detail of peaks and valleys of HR during the workout, Min and Max, etc.  Now I just get a summary, which, to be honest I can probably estimate without a fitbit by just looking at a clock.  I'll wait for the next update and hopefully they will fix it.      Wondering what other competitor prodcuts are out there?  I've heard Garmin makes some good products.

@LizzyFitbit  Do you have a timeframe when this is going to be fixed?

That’s exactly how I was able to finally see the heart rate graph! I just go back and forth until it finally appears. I read that they’re having issues with server lag. Google of all mega corporations…with server lag issues on Fitbit. Wow. They sure ruined a good thing taking over Fitbit.

So I thought they removed it too but all of a sudden one day it was back! So then the next day it was gone again…then back. I have to go to the exercise tab in the app in my phone and go to “today” and wait a sec, then back then forth until finally it eventually appears. So frustrating!! I’m hearing that there is server lag issues so it’s not displaying right away. It takes so long to finally load the heart rate graph I’m going to call them about it.

Same complaints! No heart rate info from exercise session is an annoying issue.

I am having the same issue and none of the suggestions have worked. It started after moving my Fitbit account to a google account; is there a way to switch back? The app won’t let me log in with a Fitbit account.

Hi

my average heart rate for a specific workout is no longer depicted in the App;

The heart rate in general is being tracked, including the increased heart rate during my workout:

The average heart rate per workout stopped calculating once I downloaded the latest version of the App. Please advise on a fix. Thanks

Me too!  I really don’t like the updated app.  Including this same reason that it got rid of the HR per workout chart.  Also no more color coded chart bar info stats, just really boring monochrome making it hard to review activities in general.  Not visual at all.  I wish I could go back to the older app.

They didn't get rid of the HR graphs, it was just incredibly slow to load.

v4.08 just came out and it's much better (around 3-8 seconds to see the graphs instead of 15+ or needing to edit), but still needs to be snappier. And not crash when I view older workouts.

Hi everyone, and welcome to our new members.

Thank you for your continued reports regarding the issue with your Fitbit app. As you may know, the 4.08 version for the iOS Fitbit app was recently released and it should be available to all our users.

With this in mind, I'd recommend installing the latest version of the app and rebooting your phone to refresh the way the Fitbit app performs. Once that is done, try opening the exercise tile and let me know if your heart rate data is displayed for your activities.

Yes, I can now see a graph. I'm very glad to see it, but I still think the old version was much better. It was much easier to compare exercise sessions over days and weeks and see everything on one screen. That's also true for steps and miles. I don't hate fitbit and I'm not furious, as some people are. I think it's sad and disappointing that fitbit decided to change something that was perfectly fine into something that's just not as easy or enjoyable to use. But I appreciate you following up on my question.

Thanks @LizzyFitbit for the update.  With the latest update I am seeing the new blue and tan HR graph appear pretty much right away in the exercise details screen.  I still prefer the old, more colorful version which I have to hit the share button and select Exercise in order to view it, but it is progress.  My gripe now, which I will look for a in a different post, is that I can't update/correct an auto created activity.  For example I would change it from "Sport" to "Volleyball" in the app previously, but I can only update it from the website now.

@karenokaren and @J_Czk It's good to see you again!

Thanks for keeping me posted, I'm glad the heart rate graph is displayed correctly for your activities. Our team is constantly working to improve our products and services, and your feedback is invaluable in helping us to make sure that we are bringing something useful to our members.

@J_Czk In regards to your other question, I'd like to let you know that this issue was also escalated to our team so it can be resolved soon. My best advice is going to your online dashboard and rename your exercises as you've been doing so far, that way your details can be updated on the Fitbit app afterward. In addition to this, I'd also recommend visiting this thread in order to receive more updates about this topic.
