No Text Notifications on Alta HR after 11.1 update

I no longer get text notifications on my Fitbit Alta HR since iOS update 11.0. I get calls, but not text. I’ve tried all troubleshooting recommendations and reported issue to fitbit via chat. All notification settings in the app, in iPhone settings, and Bluetooth are set to on. Ive removed the app, removed device, reset the Fitbit, and added it all back on like new. Still have the issue. Please help.

Hello, I had to remove my Fitbit Alta, and make sure that my Fitbit Alta was not paired with my blue tooth. I started the app and paired my Fitbit Alta through the app and the app paired it with my bluetooth. That’s the only way I was able to get the notifications. If you are saying your phone it won’t send a notification. It took a few before it started to notify me. That’s how I got mine to work. It won’t send you notifications if you pair it to your phones Bluetooth. Pair it first through the app. I unpaired and removed everything and started fresh. Try doing that and then give it a little.

I too have had the same issues with my fit bit Alta HR and my iPhone8  not receiving any of my text messages that should be coming through with my notification setting.   I have been in contact with Fit Bit numerous times but I keep getting the same response ...  “they’re working on it.”  I understand your frustration as I am also feeling it too.  I have requested a  replacement Alta HR but  I have been told that will not solve my problem.  And so we wait .....  ;-(

Did you read back through the email responses to the steps for resetting
your Fitbit. I posted them several months ago. Once I follow these
instructions and then synced my Fitbit to my Bluetooth, I started receiving
the notifications. Please try this method.

I Keep trying over and over nothing seems to work... I deleted the app then reapplied it today.. . I just read where someone said to turn off “all day sync”. Trying that now but still not working. I saw where Fit Bit had a new update today and was hoping maybe this would help..

Here’s the instructions once again that support sent me. Once I followed
these exactly, my Fitbit began notifications.

Hello,

Let's work together in order for us to assist you regarding your Fitbit Alta
not giving you your notifications.

Upon checking in our system we can see that your tracker last sync was on
Nov 20th 2017, so we will recommend you to sync your Fitbit Alta so you can
be able to have all your information save on your dashboard, moving forward
we will recommend you to restart your Fitbti Alta to refresh the tacker's
system by following the next steps:

1. Plug your charging cable into a USB port on your computer or any
UL-certified USB wall charger.
2. Clip the other end of the charging cable to the port on the back of
the tracker. The pins on the charging cable must lock securely with the
port. You’ll know the connection is secure when the tracker vibrates and
you see a battery icon on your tracker’s display. Your tracker will begin
charging.

3. Press the button on your charging cable 3 times within a few seconds,
briefly pausing between presses. The button is on the end of the charging
cable that is plugged into your computer. When you see the Fitbit logo
and the tracker vibrates, this means the tracker has restarted.
4. Unplug your tracker from the charging cable.

After we will recommend you to forget the Fitbti Alta from the Bluetooth
setting this way you can be able to reconnect your Fitbit Alta to your
phone and be able to get the notifications:

1. Tell your phone to "forget" your device, removing the connection
between the phone and the Fitbitdevice.
1. On your phone, go to *Settings > Bluetooth* and find your
Fitbit device
in the list.
2. Find a Blue circle with an " i " in the middle and then click on
the option to forget the device.
2. Open the Fitbit app and set up notifications again.

We will need for you to test it out and let us know the issue remains. Keep
in mind our main goal is to provide our customers with the best service,
keeping our customers very satisfied, and encouraging them to have a
healthier lifestyle.

If for any reason you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate
to contact us back.

I did get a replacement from them....well actually at 50% off. Which I could kill myself for taking. Excuse me while I check my incoming texts on my new awesome Apple Watch.

I can’t believe they actually charged you 50% .. what about their year warranty??? I suggested them replacing mine too.. they said with all the issues they didn’t feel that that would be a good choice because they haven’t figured it out yet !!

Problem is now fixed!!! Hooray. To be honest, I can't say exactly what fixed it because I tried all the solutions multiple times - restarting the fitbit, uninstalling fitbit software, pairing via the app, etc. etc. But it's all good now!

And....just as I said my Huawei Mate 9 new phone pairing with my Alta HR was working great...the notifications for text and phone to the Alta HR stopped working again. It's gotta be the Alta HR device since it can't be the three previous phones (two iPhones and a Samsung Galaxy) to which my Alta HR had been been paired and then stopped notifications several weeks after being paired to each of them separately. And yes, I have tried all the instructions over and over. Not worth the hassle so I stopped thinking it should work. A world-class company would have solved this problem by now.
