Hi,

Can I raise a ticket to get my excersice un deleted or just get the tcx/fit file data?

Pretty sure it should be stored in a database somewhere so this should be possible.

Thanks

Simon

Hi @LZeeW , nice to see you back! Thank you for informing me about the situation with @User193 @mikeydag .

@User193  , a warm welcome to the Community!  I moved your post over here as this is the most current thread about the situation.

@mikeydag , I didn't move you post here as that was made on October.

To both of you we released a few days ago a new version of the iOS app. Could you please confirm if after the update the situation occurred again? I'll be expecting your replies!

Hi @1H1 , a warm welcome to the Community! Thank you for your information. I apologize for the delayed response.

We had released a new app version a few days ago. Please install the update. After the update, please turn your phone off and on again.

Let me know if the situation continues and if only happens with the activity records.

Hi Juan,

I have not been asked to install a new app version lately. Should I have? How can I check if I have the most recent version installed?

In any case, the problem of accidentally deleting seems to be fixed when left swiping.

Not sure if I can add a different question in here  so let me know if I should post the following some place else: When starting a cycle activity (on my Versa Lite watch), it looks like everything is fine but when terminating the activity I see the usual congrats-screen but the details that should be there are missing (km, average kph, bmp, etc). Manually categorising the exercise doesn't help either.

Thanks for your help

Hi,  I've looked and there wasn't another update to go on and yet when I swipe left it still goes straight away without an "are you sure? message

Accidentally I removed a Run activity using the FitBit iOS app.

That activity had heart rate information that was vital for me.

Now, I can't restore it. It is completely gone.

Please do not reply that I can manually add the activity from the desktop browser. I know that, but it is not the same. Why for the love of God did you implement this feature under the iOS app without a warning? Please remove it completely and let the advanced features being made through the desktop browser. Or just simply add a popup message and ask me again and again if I'm sure I want to delete that activity because I can lose important info and so on... Warn me that it is dangerous...

Thanks.

Hi @lucaiuli - I tried deleting Run from my Exercise Shortcuts. It deleted successfully. But looking at the bottom of the list, I spotted “+ Exercise Shortcut.” Tapping that area, I was able to add Run back to my list. I was not able to test it ... and I realize this may not restore the information you lost ... but please try it and let us know how it goes.

Hi, Carol
Thank you for your reply, but as I mention it in my first post I know about adding manually an activity. I know that. But adding it manually doesn't mean I get back all the important info I had during the real activity, like Heart Rate Zones, Calories Burned, second by second, minute by minute, km by km.

So, as much as I wanted to work, this way it doesn't 😞

Unfortunately.

All destructive actions you might take using a mobile app should have a WARNING first.

Once you tap OK then you acknowledge what you've done and you suffer the consequences. But without that WARNING popup, you're "naked". You cannot go back if you made a mistake. This is a serious issue. I was running for some time and I had vital info on that activity.

Simply by making a mistake by swiping to the left and look for what options do I have under the activity deleted that activity without even know it...

I am frustrated to say at least

@lucaiuli   You don't say how this accident happened, but some users are describing an "accidental" hard delete.  This is what the other users are describing.  A gentle left swipe on an exercise gets you this view:

IMG_0495.PNG

But if you swipe just a little too hard, you get a hard delete and no "are you sure" message.  And it is unrecoverable.

If this is what happened to you, then I would like to add your experience to that thread.  This has been reported for a few months now.

@JuanFitbit   I responded to two posts in the least week or so and users are still experiencing an unrecoverable hard delete with a left swipe.

Any update?  There were a few app updates since this was first reported, but the problem persists.

Hi, Laurie

That’s not exactly what I’ve done. I just wanted to look what’s there under the swipe to left action and all of a sudden my activity disapeared from the list and nowhere to be found.

This is not an email app to follow the UI actions, not to mention that the deleted email message is stored for you in the Trash folder so you can restore it if you delete it by mistake.

We are in 2020 and the mobile devices have alot of space, I don’t think that if you delete 1 KB of fitbit activity will affect the mobile storage quota. Just keep them somewhere and let me review them later.

Thanks

Ive experienced the same thing. I just swiped right out of curiosity, but ended up deleting my activity from earlier today- bummer!

I feel you, brother!

That’s exactly what I’ve done, too 😞

Now, how to manually add what you’ve lose forever? 😞

Bummer indeed! Sorry about that...

Hello Everyone

It seems the App still contains the same "error".

I have just accidentally deleted my precious exercise record without any warning.

I have iPhone 7

Any idea if it's going to be fixed?

I just did the same thing. How is this not fixed yet?? My iOS and app are all up to date. I was trying to share my workout with my trainer but swiped a little too hard left and it disappeared completely with no warning.

Just happened to me as well. Hence, why I’m here reading this post. This was originally posted a year ago. How has it not been addressed yet? I’ve been pretty disappointed with Fitbit/Fitbit Coach support these last few months. There’s a lot to love but so many idiosyncrasies that I’m wondering if Apple Watch has a better program with less flukes. Would love a response back.

Hi everyone.

Sorry to hear about your missing activities. I would like to have more information about this issue.

- Does this happen with only tracked activities or also with manually logged activities?
- Did you use GPS on the missing activities?
- Which phone and which OS version are you using (maybe has this happened with an iPad)?
- Have you been able to replicate this issue (for example just entering activity mode on your tracker and then sync to have it there and trying to delete it the way users have described in this thread?
- How often has this happened?

Still try logging out from the app, restart your phone and log back in this in addition to having the app up to date.

Keep me posted.

@AlvaroFitbit

Happens with both tracked/manually added activities

Not always used gps

Iphone 7 and up to date software

Happens everytime you swipe right to left

I have also accidentally deleted logged exercises. You can easily lose exercise by swiping left on an exercise. In lack of recovering function, a query “Are you sure” would nice to lessen chance of accidental deletion. Isn’t yet a solution for this?! This just happened to me. IOS 13.5.1, iPhone 6sPlus.

Hello, same here. I just bought fitbit charge 4 and ux of iOS app sucks so much that i accidentaly removed my activity as well. One never know where to slide/swipe in the app so deleting permanently anything without prompt is A BIG FAIL. Please fix it, it is 10min of developer work.
