Redesigned Sleep experience now in the iOS app

Why are the sleep scores and data displayed differently? I assume it’s the new ios update, but I preferred the former presentation.

Oh FitBit what have you done. Your new update esp to the sleep graph and info had quite literally ruined my day, and will ruin every day going forward until you change it back. I hate it so much that I’m strongly thinking of finding an alternative sleep and activity tracker, after over a decade of being a Fitbit fan. CHANGE IT BACK!!

Why on earth did you drop the old sleep format before completing, debugging and TESTING IT WITH REAL USERS before forcing your customers to use it?  The arrogance of software companies that treat their customers like a group of unpaid beta testers on software they genuinely need and who were led to believe was fully functional astonishes me.

My husband and I have been following this disaster for a while and you are right, it is getting worse. I am no longer getting sleep readings for an entire night. It is getting chopped up unnecessarily. “Restless" doesn’t shouldn’t be treated as awake but is now deducted from sleep totals. No more benchmarking, although it did come back for a day or two. No sleep scores or information on “Restoration", etc. This data is important and is not just window dressing. We have historically used FitBit Premium data for assessing current and potential health issues with our medical personnel. What we are getting now is useless and the shame is we are both paying for the subscriptions which should have been offered as Family from the beginning. I “chatted” with an AI agent this morning. Sadly AI is more responsive than FitBit personnel; however, there is no feedback from corporate or IT regarding plans to fix this mess. NONE.

The google platform for Fitbit is a complete disaster. I had the new app actually loathe and detest it. So much so i have no choice but to change product. Ive lost all my data since i first bought charge hr back in 2015- all my achievements are gone nada. The platform is hard to access and you know what? There’s just so much wrong with it now I can’t even begin. I tried but this has honestly just been another nail in my coffin. Does Google even know how much motivation they used to give on the other Fitbit app. The old one. It was brighter more responsive more user friendly. It’s now turned into our enemy. Hands those who like this stark ugly format? In addition it keeps crashing. 😩😩😩😩😭😭😭😭

im trying to cheer up but in the bin for my watch now. And after spending a few hundred on it just before the app changed I can’t say it was my best choice.

My thoughts exactly. Awful design that seems to put someone’s “vision” ahead of usability and appeal. Having been a Fitbit user for years, I’ve never had a reason to look elsewhere. But, like you, I’m now wondering if next time I upgrade I ought to check out the competition - they might have more appealing designs and functionality.

If it renewed on a credit card, give notice of cancellation to Fitbit & contact the credit card company & dispute the charges citing significant change of service product. There are pages of customer complaints here to document this and serve as your back up.  Worth a try.

It appears they made this change without any product testing with consumers or even basic understanding of why/how customers use their Fitbit, which is not a smart business move.  

any business academics here?  This is a great case study of how product changes can undercut your business.

This is what I have too and I hate it! It’s interesting with so many people expressing the same complaints that no response from the moderators has been made.
I believe they want to get rid of Fitbit and move to the goggle trackers. I will probably change to Apple when this Fitbit dies. They generally only last a little over a year so that should be soon.

Couldn’t agree more with all the negative posts. I was ok the way it was. The changes were confusing at first and are now virtually useless. I miss the grades, fair, good & excellent (or whatever words were used if I’m not remembering correctly). I hate it!!!

The upgrade – and I use that term loosely – finally hit my phone the other day. The sleep info is what I am mainly interested in, and I am having a very hard time reading the new layout. I thought it was just my aging eyes, but I am relieved to see that I am not the only one having a hard time with this. The layout is so basic, boring and cramped that I would’ve sworn this was their first version of the app…. like if we were back in the ‘90s. I may need to look into another device.

And now I have been getting this UI redesign’s simplified results for my sleep when I slept 8 hrs straight!! I was angry that it couldn’t piece together two segments (or show me the longer of the two, at least) when I woke in the night for an hour and a half, but to not get a detailed sleep report for 8 hours straight!? What is happening? And why was this rolled out partially finished? We’re doing beta testing now?

Is it possible it’s been made even worse? No sleep stages at all today.
