Required settings changed for notifications on iOS 13

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

This thread is for iOS customers on OS 13.3 who are unable to receive notifications.

Before you can receive notifications from your phone on your Fitbit device, it’s important that you carefully review and update your notifications settings on your iPhone.

The required settings changed with the introduction of iOS 13. Please make sure you follow all the instructions in the quick tip section here.

If you still are having issues, please review:

  • Make sure you've updated to iOS 13.3
  • Turn OFF and then back ON Share System Notifications (toggle OFF and ON)
  • Set Show Previews to Always or When Unlocked

I just posted on Fitbit’s Facebook page. We ALL should! Maybe blowing up their social media will get something addressed!

Ok peeps, I posted on their FB page and someone reached out to me. After a couple of days and different instructions, including sending my info on to someone else, my FitBit text notifications worked! So after months and months, it finally does everything it’s supposed to! Maybe reaching out via FB is the best course?

So what did they have you do? Care to share that with us?

I’ve tried to copy and paste several times, but it’s not allowing it. Do you have an email address I can send it to?

The most important thing that I didn’t understand was when you go into your
notification settings you have to go into the messages app specifically
(not just the Fitbit app) and change “show previews” to always.

Thank you for your help!

Nice to see. But the problem is you have to do this every day or several times a day, because the connection get lost and will not be back.

Every day I have been resetting mine to the WIFI in my house. Some days it works others it doesn't, today is a day it didnt. I am so annoyed with this. The worst part is my father has the same device and her has  none of these issues.

I went through all the suggested settings yesterday, and after months of trying since updating to iOS 13, I now receive notifications on my iPhone.

However, the solution is not acceptable to me. By default, I have Settings --> Notifications --> Previews set to NEVER on my iPhone, for security reasons. I only want alerts to show the source of the notification, whether the phone is locked or not. I will be the only one who has access to the actual content of the notification.

Notifications from my Ionic to my iPhone worked previously with the NEVER Notification setting on the iPhone, so why can't we have that option back?

It may mean that the notification content cannot be read on the Ionic, but that is fine by me. I only use the Ionic notification to alert me to check my iPhone. If people want the whole notification on their Ionic, then the current settings work for that way anyway.

I agree this is not an acceptable fix. I want my money back. What a waste of $160

If Fitbit was taken over by Google they have enough money to be compensating people. So many unhappy customers.

My Blaze Fitbit watch and Iphone  8 (screen) for iOS 13 latest version does not appear as previously.

Cannot seem to access the GPS route tracking as before, tried deleting app, re-installing etc still the same. . All suggested requirements are activated and watch is 'paired'  Just want the route mapping back.
