Same data for consecutive days

On my Versa 2 the app has recently started shown the same data for consecutive days. Shows 7034 steps today, 7034 steps yesterday &  7035 steps Monday. The previous days are correct. If I close & restart app it sorts out, but after an hour or so problem back again.

On line chat support say restart app (which I’d told home I already had), resrtatt phone, turn off Bluetooth & repair, delete app & reinstall then setup again. Done all that but doesn’t fix.

Anyone else having the problem? Any suggestions?

Hi Juan, this is still a problem. I raised this in July. I’ve done everything, but this is still a problem. Is this ever going to be fixed?

@JuanFitbit  While I think we all appreciate your efforts to get the Google folks to look at this problem - it has now been 81 days since this started. There have been 9 software updates - none of which have worked. This is more than a "difficulty" it is a software failure. The product was working fine - and had done so for over a decade until August. Putting it into programmer hours we are about at 12 weeks since the app worked - that would be 60 workdays - that would be 480 programmer hours (if there was no sense of urgency). That is a significant  amount of hours. People on this community board don't understand why the dashboard can't be put back up. We know it works - and it wouldn't require getting the app working like it used to. Or even simpler re-post the app from the summer that worked fine. This is starting to reach critical mass as people on this community board are taking about what products from other companies they should buy to replace their Fitbit product that doesn't work. We want to stick with Fitbit because we have liked the product for many years - is there any hope we can?

When I open the Fitbit app first thing in the morning it shows my data from the day before, then transfers that data over to MyFitnessPal which I cannot correct by syncing both apps. I have to remove permissions for both apps then wait, then restart and add permissions back in. Then it might or might not correct itself. It is pointless for me to pay for a subscription if it is not going to work properly with the other app.

Deleted the Fitbit App, reinstalled, turned off Bluetooth, nothing worked.  The Fitbit App still shows the exact same number of steps on consecutive days. Inspire 3 and iPhone SE. Will definitely not purchase another Fitbit.

Hi Juan,

i hsve a duplivated data instsbce this week - within the say's hourky brreakdiwn in the app it clearly shows the right count, but on the day, werk abd minth total screens it is duplicating the day before.

I've updated the app, deleted and reinstalled, rebooted my phone, rebooted the device, updated firmware, re-paired everything. I've emailed avd DM support on X, but no solution has been offered.

Good luck. I’m on month 3 with the same issue. For others it’s been longer.

Hello,

This issue hasn’t been fixed. This morning I synced my fitbit when I woke up and it now shows yesterday’s steps. The mileage is correct. The steps are wrong. The same thing happened on Friday. Friday’s steps are exactly the same as Thursday’s but the mileage shows the difference. Could you please fix this?

I have talked to their official FB account messenger customer care and the only solution they gave was to delete the duplicated day's data. Doing so will just delete it and make that day's step 0. It will not recover actual data. It seems like there is still no solution for this.

I have done all the adviced solutions in this thread and nothing has worked. 😞

I have this same issue too. It was this morning and yesterday morning when I woke up before even getting out of bed. I looked at my phone app to see my sleep score and everything for the day and they all looked normal but my step count is in the high thousands and it's the same number as yesterday's step count. I am able to manually delete that but I really want the problem to stop and until yesterday this is something that never happened in 2 years using this. And I definitely didn't change anything.

Google pixel 7 phone and pixel 3 watch. Phone App version 4.30

I upgraded my Fitbit App to the new version, the data still shows the same data on consecutive days.

This started happening with my app last week. It’s a bit of a relief that it’s not just me (although my daughter’s app started doing it this week too), but it is annoying as the step counts are inaccurate and I’m surprised that they haven’t found a solution that works after seven months!

Hi have you resolved this yet? Any tips as what to do. I'm getting same problem despite doing everything advised. It's becoming unusable.

It does not look like this is going to get fixed after months of waiting, someone could just look at what has changed in the programming before people started getting issues, if other products had similar wait times for a bug fix no one would buy them, with that, reluctantly its time to move over to apple after months of waiting and years of supporting and buying Fitbit products for the family

Yes think I agree with you, time to change Been a big fan of Fitbit for years but obviously not fit for purpose any longer.

New behavior as of yesterday: I can watch the step numbe4 for the current day increase to corr3ct strps then recede to zero. Doesn’t record number of floors. So, I’ll be buying a tracker other than Fitbit. For now I’m rely8ng on the health app that came with my phone.

Issue with the wrong data showing on the app IS NOT fixed!  This is the second time in the past week that I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app, force stopped it, turned bluetooth on and off, removed my older Charge 2 from the app, shut down my phone & restarted it, restarted the trackers, etc.  Nothing works!  Steps are now stuck at the same number they were when I ran through all the steps outlined in various posts regarding this problem.  The trackers are syncing with EACH OTHER and recording steps correctly, but the APP data is wrong and not even changing from one sync to another.

What is the update on getting the App fixed?

It is now 90 days since the app crashed. This started on August 27. Here is what we know.

The Fitbit device can communicate fine to the app as we can see what is occurring for the current day.

The Fitbit device can communicate fine with the Fibit servers as we get the weekly progress report e-mails with info about how many steps, floors, avg daily calorie burn, distance, active minutes, avg hours with 250 steps for the week - and a contrast of all those with the previous week.

But the App cannot communicate with the Fitbit servers since the August "update." In an on-line exchange on X with Fitbit Support I was told "We made a few backend changes to Fitbit data a few months back that resulted in data discrepancies."  Can either those changes be undone or get the app to recognize them?

For whatever it's worth, I want to report to the developers that after I
posted about this happening two days in a row, it has not happened all week
since then.
