Hi all,

I'm unable to disable the reminder to move notification -- whenever I do, it keeps resetting back to "enabled" after syncing with the device.

How to reproduce

When I press:

* Profile picture -> Charge 4 device image

I can see that there's a button called "Reminder to move" which is set to ON.

There's a button which is called "Sync now" as well.

I press "Reminder to Move", and from the new view I toggle it from ON to OFF.

I go back by pressing the button at the top-left to the previous view where I can see the summary of the settings.

The "Reminder to Move" is showing OFF, but the "Sync now" button turns to "Syncing..." and once that syncing is done, the "Reminder to Move" turns to ON again automatically.

Locale: Sweden/Swedish

Should I return it? I've tried resetting the app, restarting the phone, uninstalling the app and reinstalling it.

Hello @adavis1109. Welcome to the community forums!

Thank you for the detailed information and for the steps you've followed prior to posting. At this time, I'd recommend logging out from the Fitbit app and back in one more time. Then, please try to restart your Charge 4 one more time and try to change your goal by following the instructions here: How do I track my health and fitness goals with the Fitbit app?

If the inconvenience persists, please try to change your goal using the web Dashboard to see if this works.

Hope this helps.

Let's try the following steps:

- Restart your Versa 3
- Log out from the Fitbit app
- Force quit it
- Log back in and change the dominant to non dominant setting

Hope this helps.

Why can’t I change the ‘reminder to move’ setting to off?

When I do it it just changes back again after syncing🙁.

I never turn my off but just tried it and the same thing happens to me. I turned it off and fiddled around with the time’s and then synced. It stayed off. Give it a try.

@SilviaFitbit, I am having the same issue although in reverse (cannot change from non-dominant to dominant, otherwise same symptoms as @cjburns77 )

I tried your advice above, and this did not resolve the issue. My versa 3 is running version 128.5.49 if that helps.

Any other thoughts? Thanks!

I tried that same thing and did not fix it. Anyone know what to do. It’s not calculating my steps correctly because of this.

Hi @shep4646. Welcome back to the forums. @Clove6060 Thanks for stopping by to help our friend.

@shep4646 Thanks for bringing this to our attention. While this is odd, please give a try to the following steps to see how it goes:

  1. Forget your Sense from the Bluetooth settings.
  2. Force quit the Fitbit app and reboot your phone.
  3. Restart your Sense to refresh its performance.
  4. Open the Fitbit app and pull down on the screen to force a manual sync.
  5. Try turning off the reminders to move one more time.

Hope this helps.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @Angie124 @MStokes.

Thank you for the information provided.

In this case, I would recommend restarting your Fitbit Luxe devices by following these steps. This should help you to resolve the issue with the notification automatically re-syncing and turning back on.

If you want to turn off Reminders to Move completely, please visit this article, open the menu "How do I turn reminders to move on or off on my Fitbit device?" and follow the instructions.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Definitely something going on with the settings. I use non- dominant. I changed mine to dominant and it kept reverting back to non-dominant. After several attempts of changing it and quickly going to today page and swiping down to sync, it stayed as dominant. It then took several attempts to get it back to non-dominant.  Try it that way several time’s for now.

Another member had issues with reminders on/off reverting back.  It was suggested by Lizzy to:

Try that except on your case step 5 would be change non-dominant to dominant.

Hi community,

I wear my Fitbit versa 2 on my non-dominant hand during the day and dominant at night, but I’ve noticed over the past 3 days, whenever I change the wrist settings to non-dominant, it resets after a couple seconds to dominant.

Anyone know what I can do to stop this as I’ve noticed it’s affected ever so slightly, the accuracy of my readings/recordings?

After changing it do you do a sync immediately?

If so, try a force stop of the Fitbit App or even logout and login again.

Functionality may change with new releases of the App or an accumulation of problems.

Same issue, Versa 1 (original), firmware version 72.1.15, Fitbit iPhone app version 3.45 (1061).

I tried resetting the Versa, restarting the app, turning bluetooth off and on (all of this several times), none of that help. After finding this thread, I tried logged out of the app, while resetting Versa, restarting app, and toggling bluetooth, and I was finally able to get the change from dominant to non-dominant to persist.

I didn't have this problem the last time I switched wrists (I switch somewhere between every few months to every year), which I'd guess was about 5-6 weeks ago.

This appears to be a duplicate issue: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Other-Versa-Smartwatches/Versa-2-changing-wrist-settings-no-longer-w...

I hate the app and never expect things to be successfully applied within the settings. If you want it to work, go to your Fitbit dashboard on a webpage and go under My Dashboard, then go to the settings wheel on the right top corner of the screen, click on your device and Reminders To Move should be abled to be toggled off. When I opened the app back on my iPhone, it remained off. 🙂
