Sleep benchmark comparison not working

ANSWERED

Sleep data is recording ok, my sleep stages are recorded, my sleep data shows up on app and can compare to 30 days average with black dots to indicate averages but when Benchmark is chosen only my last sleep stages night data is shown in a line graph BUT no shaded area is apparent indicating averages for others in my age group.

Using a Versa 3 Fitbit and iOS app on Apple SE 2020 phone . Does anyone else find the same, it only happened since the app layout seemed to change recently, no problem with old layout? Any help would be appreciated.

Just to add info, my husband’s app updated the same day as mine but my app still shows the benchmarks and monthly data. So weird.  Thank you for all you do❣️

I'm glad your update was not the disappointment your husband & I
experienced. But, the lack of consistent update experiences by various
Fitbit users exposes yet another Fitbit failure. Mind you, I consider
myself to be an optimist. I feel I have given Fitbit ample opportunity to
prove me wrong. They failed!

I have a charge 5. I hate the sleep app update. It is generally less helpful than the old presentation and has no benchmark information whatsoever. Why did these Tech folks have no concept of leaving well enough alone.

Best Answer
The plain truth is that the sleep benchmark has been stolen from us.

If Google was truly interested in correcting it's misguided "improvements", wouldn't it have done so after the disastrous "update" last September?  I appreciate that, as moderator, you promise keep this community apprised of Fitbit app news.  However, the volume of negative comments about changes to the Fitbit app indicates that Google is NOT interested in fixing anything.  That makes this forum useless for anything but venting.

100% agree chipfrazier. I just keep checking to see if any response from Google/Fitbit has been posted- so far extremely disappointed!

THIS IS A BELATED RESPONSE FROM FITBIT SUPPORT TODAY  29th April TO MY ORIGINAL COMPLAINT

“Just to give you a heads-up, the issue with the sleep screen not showing the benchmark ranges has been escalated, and our team is working to identify a solution as soon as possible. Our sincere apologies for the inconvenience that this may have caused you.”

I SHALL WAIT TO SEE THE RESULTS

I'm not going to hold my breath!  I wish I could trust Google to function in good faith.  However, it promised the same correction when it changed the activity tracker last September.  Nothing came of that false promise.  I get the feeling Google wants Fitbit to fail & it is moving in that direction by f---ing up the app that was extremely useful before Google bought Fitbit.

Thank you. The update today fixed the problem for me. I hope it fixed it
for everyone.

@Jimdm Hi! Is there a new Fitbit App update? I don’t see it in the IPhone App Store.

I have the same problem.

I continue to have exactly the same problem. In addition, I find the new sleep app to be clunky, inelegant, just plain ugly, and almost willfully uninformative. Very annoying.

Best Answer

Still? Android version is horrible.

Best Answer

Not fixed for me yet!

Hello everyone, and welcome to our new members.

Thanks for keeping me posted. I want to let you know that the new Fitbit app 4.16 version has started to slowly roll-out to all our members. This update brings a fix for this issue, so please make sure to install it once you see it available.

Keep in mind that the sleep benchmark will only appear for logs that contain sleep stages. To learn more about it, see this help article.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience this has caused. Thanks again for your feedback and patience throughout this situation.

  • How I do I check the most recent version of the app installed on my phone?
Best Answer
Yes, it is taken care of, but is still dreadful.
My main point, as that of many other people, is that the new App is
appalling. It is difficult to read, visually unpleasing and in no way an
improvement on the last version.
I also repeat, users were not informed of this new version (I cannot deem
it an ‘upgrade’), which is unacceptable, cavalier and bad practice. It is a
business model I totally reject.
You may be interested to know that this has degraded my pleasure in using
Fitbit and I am looking round for alternative trackers.
Is short, I think it should be scrapped, go back to the earlier version or
give us a decent new version.
