Step streak reset to zero on iOS Fitbit app

My streak was broken 8 days ago despite me not having failed my step goal. I believe this was caused by me lacking internet connection so the app not updating with my full steps. I would like to resolve this and restore my streak.

Thanks for the update.
I had a 550 day goal when it disappeared 2 days ago.
So very disappointed.
Hope it can be recovered.

Hello Lizzy Fitbit:

Thanks for a response with some substance about a month after my first post. I will say however that your response does not answer the questions that have been posted by me
Not your members. This matter has been going on for over a year from what I read from the public posts. Therefore, please know that your members do not trust that it is being addressed. Therefore, I would like to
specifically know the following:

What is the estimated date of the issue being fixed? Weeks? Months?

Why will it take that long to fix?

Who can o specify follow up with at the corporate office regarding this matter? (A real
person, not customer service).

How can we contact the corporate office without positing a note on this public forum or “use customer service”?

As a side note, the Fitbit website is not user friendly and does not provide corporate information that should be posted in a public forum for a corporation your size. Gives me great pause as a member.

I would like the contact information of the corporate office as I have asked before. If you need to send it privately you have my email address on file.

Please feel free to email me directly for my email that is on file.

Sincerely,
Slboylan

We all know about the three great lies. The problem has been elevated. The software developers are working on it and hope they have a resolution quickly. Will get back to you as soon as we know something and hopefully with an answer.

Merry Christmas, happy holidays, and the best to all the community numbers for the upcoming new year!!!

every day, after completing my step goal, I receive a text banner from Fitbit, telling me the length of my step Street. If it appears to start sending this banner after four consecutive days of meeting step streak. I have suggested that a tile with steps streak information be created so community members can see their step streak data whenever they wish. Right now it can only be seen on the application and once you close the banner, the day that is no longer available. Fitbit has had a long time issue with step streak, resetting for no apparent reason.  promises to resolve this reset issue have been made, but not yet realized.

hey, my actual step streak is over 800 days and the banner when it comes up today will show approximately 92 or 93 days. The step Street button if initiated would require a greater commitment by 50 to the step Street data that has been so valuable to many community members. clicking on the step street tile could reveal a great deal of information that community members would appreciate it and I graphs, multiple step streak, Lanks, length of brakes and meeting step streak in the center standard deviation of steps taken for step Street.

Had over 1200 days in my streak only to have it broken!  Same for two other co-workers. We all have the Charge 4.  Ugh.

Sent from my iPhone every day I push myself to hit my step streak goal. The step Street banner should read more than 800 consecutive days of meeting my goal. However, this morning, it said 92 days and for 92 days I have waited to see the problem corrected and all of my step Street days reported. I have had my step Street goal reset two times and it is so frustrating to hit my step Street goal for the day and see a partial count.

My frustration is only worsened by the fact that fit bit Google has not made the iOS application, friendly for those who are blind and reading disabled. As a blind user, it is frustrating to get only partial data, and to know that the information I want is available on the screen and the voiceover screen reading software provided by Apple is unable to read it to me. I have brought my concerns up to Fitbit customer care and to the Google Disability specialist teams. I bring it up regularly within the Fitbit community in hopes that someone somewhere will take access for the disabled using Fitbit seriously. I will continue to advocate for the blind and reading disabled Fitbit users within the Fitbit community and with fit bit customer care and Google Disability Support.

Best wishes for a merry Christmas, happy holidays, and day, active and healthy new year.

I've had this problem for some time and have just delt with the frustration.  I finally thought I would check the Fitbit forums to see if there was a solution to the problem only to find others experiencing the same issue.  The only answer is "they're working on it".  Maybe if others are reading about this issue, they all need to let Fitbit and LizzyFitbit know how many people are frustrated with the problem.  The more voices may get noticed and action will be taken.

Yes, everyone please speak up! But please do it kindly so we can get somewhere.

Goodness. This forum is flooded with input from dissatisfied customers.  The voices have reached a crescendo and they do not care.  LizzyFitbit and the leaders at Fitbit needed to DO something months or years ago.  I am finished with FitBit and would recommend that everyone buy a different product.  They had many chances to take action. I appreciate your good outlook Billy but I am done.

Sadly “kindly “ gets us nowhere.

I too have had this issue, just too add another voice to the void

My steak should go back to December, 2019, which was when I began to rehab from knee surgery. I have a step goal of 12k and have not missed a day since then. The streak showed as broken last month, which it was not. I did travel from the West Coast to the East Coast on the day it showed as broken. I didn’t miss  on the travel day or any other day, but the steak reset. It started again the next day. I was on the same trip this week, and the exact same thing happened. Since both times it incorrectly showed a break on a day when I traveled to a new time zone, it sure feels like this is a factor causing the problem.

It appears that Fitbit Google has a problem with beta testing and the rollout of application updates. Do you think that flying across country might reset a step streak in the 21st-century should cause a failure in a software application is unthinkable. To think that someone like me who rarely goes more than 20 miles from his from his home base should have his step streak reset twice is equally as bizarre.

Recently, I upgraded from an iPhone 7 LTE to an iPhone SE third generation 5G. The upgrade corrected a problem with tiles on the iOS application, freezing and flipping positions. You would think that developers knowing that there are different generations of phones and different communications speeds would take it into consideration as part of software development to eliminate problems that appear to be related to speed as part of their beta testing.

I am a blind user, and when I upgraded to the iPhone SE heart rate data on the home screen was made in accessible to people who are reading, disabled or blind, using the Apple voiceover software. Over a year ago, Fitbit software developers, removed access to the edit button on the Fitbit home screen in iOS to to people who are blind or reading disable, using Apple‘s voiceover software. There are multiple issues that make the Fitbit iOS software screens, difficult to use or inaccessible to people who are blind and reading disabled. I will continue to bring this up within the community and advocate, for those who are blind and reading disabled.

I have a dictated this on my iPhone, and hope that you will be able to make sense of it.

Best wishes to all who read for a merry Christmas and a happy, holiday season, and a healthy and happy new year. Keep walking and don’t let this software developers. Keep you down!!!!!

I travel maybe 5 miles roundtrip daily, Monday through Friday. So there's that, Fitbit developers. It's quite discouraging to see 5 days when I had over 1200! Might be time for an Apple Watch.

Many people in the community have reported their step streak, resetting for no apparent reason. It appears the step streak reset and after four days, the step streak started a new count. 50 community members and moderators have reported that software developers are working on a fix. As I said, this has been going on for years and has been reported numerous times within the community. I have had my step streak reset twice. Today my step streak said I had 100 consecutive days and the true count is 810 days. We all hope that at some point our staff streaks will return to the correct number of days and that every day when we reach our step Street goal  we will not have the step streak reset and have to start over again. So maybe in a few days you will see your step streak banner appear showing four days and starting a new streak for you. Hopefully you remember when your step Street started and can calculate how many actual days you have in your step Street.  Best wishes for a happy healthy and prosperous new year. Keep walking and keep healthy.

Hello Lizzy Fitbit:

So just to let you know that I had yet another reset. On 12/26/22 it reset to 11 days. That is 2 resets in 5 weeks. Neither reset to zero. Clearly you report that this is being worked on, but you still have not provided any of the requested information. What is an expected timeframe for this to be resolved? What are contacts for actual people at the corporate level?

You Lizzy Fitbit are the only contact we seem to have with the company and frankly it is not enough. Can you please respond to our prior requests. I too am on the verge of leaving Fitbit if we don’t seem to get more of a response in a reasonable time.

Please provide your customers information as we clearly are not happy.

Thanks,
Slboylan

I still don’t know where to see this counter on my up to date fitbit app! IOS. I’ve been with Fitbit since 2011 and I’ve never seen what you guys are complaining about missing! Lizzy?

I will try to answer your question. Please understand that I am a blind user, and that what you see on the screen may not be what the Apple voiceover screen reader provides me. Step streak appears on the home screen of the Fitbit iOS app on your iPhone. I do not know if it also appears on the dashboard or on the Fitbit tracking device. I would suggest that you go to settings, scroll down to Fitbit, click on Fitbit, and make sure that you are receiving all the notifications. I would check in the Fitbit iOS app to make sure that your goal settings for steps are entered, and I think that must be the primary goal You upset. I do not know if you were to set distance as your goal whether the steps Greek information would show up as a banner shortly after you have completed your step goal for the day on the iOS Fitbit app home screen. I have reached my step Street goal for today and it is 101 consecutive days according to the banner that appears. Once the banner is closed, the information is no longer available. Are there banners that show up on the iOS iPhone home screen might be suggestions for sleep, relaxat Relaxation, and more. I hope this helps and if I were a Fitbit moderator or community advocate, I probably would have been able to do a much better job at helping you.

I should also mention there are notification settings on the iOS home screen under the profile section.

I have made a feature suggestion and mentioned in the community forums that a step streak tile might be beneficial. Step Street data would be available whenever a user wanted to see the information. Graphs and other data that would be helpful to Fitbit users in the evaluation of their step, Street goal and progress in achieving healthier and more productive lives Lives could be available once the step street tile was clipped upon. This would require a serious commitment on the part of Fitbit to maintain the step streak information for the Fitbit consumer.
