We are aware of an issue preventing some users from receiving notifications on their iPhone after updating to iOS 13. If you're having trouble receiving notifications and you updated your iPhone or iPad to iOS 13, follow the steps in this article, which are also documented below:

1. GET UP-TO-DATE

  1. Update the Fitbit app.
  2. Make sure you installed the latest version of iOS. Tap Settings > General > Software update to see if an update is available.

2. CHECK YOUR BLUETOOTH SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings > Bluetooth.
  2. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device.
  3. Turn Share System Notifications off and then back on. If you don't see the Share System Notifications option:
    1. Restart your Fitbit device. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
    2. Tap Allow when you receive a message on your iPhone or iPad asking if you want your Fitbit device to show notifications.
    3. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device
    4. Turn on Share System Notifications.

3. CHECK YOUR NOTIFICATION SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings in the top-left to return to the Settings page > Notifications.
  2.  Make sure Show Previews is set to Always or When Unlocked.
  3. Verify the settings for each app that sends notifications:
App Settings
Calendar
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Tap each notification type and verify the settings:
    • Alerts > Notification Center—On
    • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Messages
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Phone
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
All other apps
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked

4. RESTART YOUR PHONE

For instructions, see the Apple help article.

If these steps do not resolve the issue for you, please keep your app up to date, and watch this thread for new information. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while our team works to address this.

I have done absolutely everything the past 3 days after updating app and newest iOS version. Disconnecting blue tooth. Forgetting device and repairing to the app. Resetting my watch. Deleting app and repairing again the Bluetooth. To finally forgetting my device in app, then deleting app, forgetting device from blue tooth and basically starting all over and still nothing. Then even tried turning off Bluetooth one more time and re sync my app. Still nothing on text notifications coming through. Is this something Fitbit is looking into? It’s just annoying that calls can come in and other notifications just doesn’t alert when a text notification comes in. I just bought this Versa  about a month ago and it’s frustrating that nobody seems to be responding from Fitbit about how they are still looking into this problem and trying resolve it. At least give us some kind of hope this is minor issue instead of making us Fitbit users constantly trying everything to get the issue fixed on our own by deleting app, re paring Bluetooth, to the extreme of forgetting device and starting all over.

I did the iOS 13 update a few days ago and not receiving any notifications now, I’ve tried all the advice too and still nothing! Really frustrated as I rely on my Fitbit notifications while at work.... 😱

Since upgrading my iPhone X to IOS13/13.1 my Fitbit Versa is not receiving any text messages. I like many others have tried the troubleshooting steps. These do not make any difference. I have since contacted Fitbit through their chat help and they were as good as useless and could only confirm the issue and inform me that the issue is currently with their technical team with no idea as to when the resolution is coming our way?!

Unfortunately not for me - Obviously an intermittent issue across the range?

Since updating my iPhone to IOS13.1 notifications for text messages stopped on my Fitbit Versa. This is how I fixed it .....

*disconnect from bluetooth

*delete Versa from Fitbit app

*start all over again re-add Versa on app

*pair with Bluetooth

What about those of us with Android operating systems experiencing the same issue? I have a Fitbit Versa that will no longer send message modifications through no matter what I do. I've rebooted the Fitbit, I've reconnected the bluetooth, I've switched off and back on all notification settings, and nothing works.

Yes what about Android? Sent via the Samsung Galaxy S8, an AT&T 5G Evolution capable smartphone

Tried these steps previously, still doesn’t work. This was the primary reason for having the Fitbit, that is to receive text alerts.

This worked for me too, but I'm super bummed that I have to have that preview open...it allows me no privacy on my phone because anyone walking by can see everything that's being texted to me.  Sucks

I have an Android phone and since the update on Monday I am not seeing my steps. They're on my fit bit versa, but not in the app on my phone.

I can’t even find the “Tap the "i" icon next to the name of your Fitbit device.“

I have a versa lite.  I updated the phone. And still

nothing. Very frustrating.
