We are aware of an issue preventing some users from receiving notifications on their iPhone after updating to iOS 13. If you're having trouble receiving notifications and you updated your iPhone or iPad to iOS 13, follow the steps in this article, which are also documented below:

1. GET UP-TO-DATE

  1. Update the Fitbit app.
  2. Make sure you installed the latest version of iOS. Tap Settings > General > Software update to see if an update is available.

2. CHECK YOUR BLUETOOTH SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings > Bluetooth.
  2. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device.
  3. Turn Share System Notifications off and then back on. If you don't see the Share System Notifications option:
    1. Restart your Fitbit device. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
    2. Tap Allow when you receive a message on your iPhone or iPad asking if you want your Fitbit device to show notifications.
    3. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device
    4. Turn on Share System Notifications.

3. CHECK YOUR NOTIFICATION SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings in the top-left to return to the Settings page > Notifications.
  2.  Make sure Show Previews is set to Always or When Unlocked.
  3. Verify the settings for each app that sends notifications:
App Settings
Calendar
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Tap each notification type and verify the settings:
    • Alerts > Notification Center—On
    • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Messages
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Phone
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
All other apps
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked

4. RESTART YOUR PHONE

For instructions, see the Apple help article.

If these steps do not resolve the issue for you, please keep your app up to date, and watch this thread for new information. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while our team works to address this.

I have the charge 2 and have done everything the forum has said to do and I still cannot get my text messages and calls to go through to my Fitbit. Very frustrating.

This worked for me. You HAVE TO make sure that in Notifications —> Messages —> Show Previews is set to Always.

OMG!!! Thank you so very much!! I had done everything else and all were working except text messages. This finally did it!! Not too thrilled my previews now show on my

Go to your settings - notifications -show previews (always or while unlocked)

ALSO you need to go to
Settings - notifications - messages - allow notifications and show previews (always or while unlocked)

Hope this helps

I updated to the new ios released today, 13.1.2 and it still didn't fix it.  Only way to make it work is to go into Settings -> Notifications -> Messages.  On the bottom of the screen under options the Show Previews has to be either "Always (Default)" or "When Unlocked".    It will not work if "Never" is selected.  Hopefully they fix it so "never" is a valid option again.

We shouldn’t need to have it to show “always” if I wanted someone to see who is texting me and what’s being said... hopefully that gets FIXED. Now I can’t get my messenger Facebook showing in the notifications

I feel foolish coz I thought my FitBit was dunzo! I went and bought a new one but will return it if the new iOS won’t even provide me with notifications.

I am having the same issue with the Samsung Galaxy Note 9. Are there any suggestions on how to fix it for Android?

You also have to make sure you update your FitBit app. This is a stupid “fix” Hope they actually fix it soon. I HATE having my previews on.

I called Fitbit customer service yesterday and they said they don’t know when the problem is going to be fixed. I’m ready to switch to an Apple Watch but I really don’t wanna pay the money

After updating to IOS13 my Versa is not showing up in my Bluetooth list nor is it synced to the fitbit app. So the steps specified in the help article: "Stopped seeing notifications after updating to iOS 13" do not apply. I have restarted my Versa as suggested. I have restarted my iPhone. I still do not see the Versa listed among my Bluetooth connections.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Recommendations?

Thank you in advance to anyone who provides assistance!
