We are aware of an issue preventing some users from receiving notifications on their iPhone after updating to iOS 13. If you're having trouble receiving notifications and you updated your iPhone or iPad to iOS 13, follow the steps in this article, which are also documented below:

1. GET UP-TO-DATE

  1. Update the Fitbit app.
  2. Make sure you installed the latest version of iOS. Tap Settings > General > Software update to see if an update is available.

2. CHECK YOUR BLUETOOTH SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings > Bluetooth.
  2. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device.
  3. Turn Share System Notifications off and then back on. If you don't see the Share System Notifications option:
    1. Restart your Fitbit device. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
    2. Tap Allow when you receive a message on your iPhone or iPad asking if you want your Fitbit device to show notifications.
    3. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device
    4. Turn on Share System Notifications.

3. CHECK YOUR NOTIFICATION SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings in the top-left to return to the Settings page > Notifications.
  2.  Make sure Show Previews is set to Always or When Unlocked.
  3. Verify the settings for each app that sends notifications:
App Settings
Calendar
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Tap each notification type and verify the settings:
    • Alerts > Notification Center—On
    • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Messages
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Phone
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
All other apps
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked

4. RESTART YOUR PHONE

For instructions, see the Apple help article.

If these steps do not resolve the issue for you, please keep your app up to date, and watch this thread for new information. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while our team works to address this.

I just did the iOS 13.1 update and my texts still aren’t coming through on my Fitbit they’re only showing up on my phone I’m ready to get the newer Fitbit versa from Verizon or the Apple Watch. Someone I know has the Fitbit versa and this didn’t happen to her

Omg thank your hubby for me!!! I just tried it and it works, sucks the on screen has to be on but I have literally spent so much time on this and Fitbit sucks. They obviously don’t read customer feedback forums.

I have a versa lite and this did happen to me, just FYI. This is not just a Fitbit issue it’s an Apple/Fitbit issue so I do not think getting a different Fitbit will solve your problems.

It’s gotta be a problem for people who have old Fitbits because I know someone who has an iPhone and has a Fitbit versa and didn’t have this issue

It could be. Because my Fitbit is like 3-4 years old.

Are they going to fix #8? We never had to have show previews before to get text messages on our fitbits, and to be honest if this doesn't get fixed I will be exploring other devices, I should not have to have previews on for the worked to see my phone.

Best Answer

yes it does temp solve the issue and show your messages back on your Fitbit BUT we should not have to have that on if we choose not to. I know a lot of times I leave my phone on my desk and I don't want people seeing what is on my phone, Fitbit really needs to look into this and fix it

I completely agree. I will not buy another Fitbit because of how they are handling this and customer service is a joke.
