We are aware of an issue preventing some users from receiving notifications on their iPhone after updating to iOS 13. If you're having trouble receiving notifications and you updated your iPhone or iPad to iOS 13, follow the steps in this article, which are also documented below:
1. GET UP-TO-DATE
- Update the Fitbit app.
- Make sure you installed the latest version of iOS. Tap Settings > General > Software update to see if an update is available.
2. CHECK YOUR BLUETOOTH SETTINGS
- Tap Settings > Bluetooth.
- Tap the information icon
- Turn Share System Notifications off and then back on. If you don't see the Share System Notifications option:
- Restart your Fitbit device. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
- Tap Allow when you receive a message on your iPhone or iPad asking if you want your Fitbit device to show notifications.
- Tap the information icon
- Turn on Share System Notifications.
3. CHECK YOUR NOTIFICATION SETTINGS
- Tap Settings in the top-left to return to the Settings page > Notifications.
- Make sure Show Previews is set to Always or When Unlocked.
- Verify the settings for each app that sends notifications:
App | Settings |
---|---|
Calendar |
|
Messages |
|
Phone |
|
All other apps |
|
4. RESTART YOUR PHONE
For instructions, see the Apple help article.
If these steps do not resolve the issue for you, please keep your app up to date, and watch this thread for new information. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while our team works to address this.

I am having the following issue after getting the new iPhone using iOS 13. When I Have an incoming call, my Fitbit blaze will not stop vibrating even after I answer the call or even after I end the call. Have tried resetting everything and nothing has fixed it, very annoying.

Just tried all of these on my iPhone 6s and nothing works. Still no notifications. App Store does not have an update tab so how do I update the Fitbit app?

Is the Fitibit ionic not compatible with the iPhone 11 Pro? I can't get my steps to sync.

I’ve run into many problems since I’ve had my Versa. After many times following troubleshooting recommended steps that didn’t work I delete my FitBit and set it up as new. Solves it every time.

This works however, I want the privacy back. With toggling on preview, once your phone unlocks, the text messages are shown. This was never the case in the past. Yes, I receive notifications now to my charge 3 but I want to keep the preview on my phone hidden. Any fixes yet?

I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and I also restarted my fitbit. Please
see below. The other thing I did was change notifications for text
messages from never show on locked screen to always show. That prompted
text messages to appear on my Fittbit, but I then changed the settings back
to what they were because I don't want message to show up on my locked
screen.
We are aware of an issue preventing some users from receiving notifications
on their iPhone after updating to iOS 13. If you're having trouble
receiving notifications and you updated your iPhone or iPad to iOS 13,
follow the steps in this article
:
1. Update the Fitbit app on your iPhone or iPad.
2. Tap the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad > *Bluetooth*.
3. Tap the "i" icon next to the name of your Fitbit device.
4. Turn on *Share System Notifications*. If you don't see the System
Notifications option:
1. Restart your Fitbit device. For more information, see How do I
restart my Fitbit device?
2. Tap Allow when you receive a message on your iPhone or iPad asking
if you want your Fitbit device to show notifications.
3. Tap the "i" icon next to the name of your Fitbit device
4. Turn on the *Share System Notifications.*
5. Tap *Settings* in the top-left to return to the Settings page >
*Notifications*.
6. For Phone and Calendar, make sure *Allow Notifications* and *Notification
Center* are on.
7. For Messages, make sure *Allow Notifications *is on, *Lock
Screen*, *Notification
Center*, and *Banners* are on.
8. For Messages, make sure Show Previews is set to *Always* or *When
Unlocked.*
If these steps do not resolve the issue for you, please keep your app up to
date, and watch this thread for new information. We apologize for the
inconvenience and appreciate your patience while our team works to address
this.

@Kstewart68
if you don’t see an update, you probably have the latest update already.
did you try deleting the app and reinstalling it? And also your Fitbit?

I deleted my Fitbit app and downloaded the Fitbit update from yesterday 9/30 and somehow that fixed it. I was trying for over a week and nothing worked with my Ionic. Hopefully someone else has the same luck as me.

The odd thing is that my old iPhone 7, which is updated to iOS 13 (but not connected to cellular) still receives data although my new iPhone 11 does not. Guess I’ll compare settings on the two to look for a difference. (I’ve already updated the Fitbit software, restarted the Fitbit and the phone just isn’t finding the Fitbit today although it did yesterday after updating to iOS 13 on Sunday!)
