We are aware of an issue preventing some users from receiving notifications on their iPhone after updating to iOS 13. If you're having trouble receiving notifications and you updated your iPhone or iPad to iOS 13, follow the steps in this article, which are also documented below:

1. GET UP-TO-DATE

  1. Update the Fitbit app.
  2. Make sure you installed the latest version of iOS. Tap Settings > General > Software update to see if an update is available.

2. CHECK YOUR BLUETOOTH SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings > Bluetooth.
  2. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device.
  3. Turn Share System Notifications off and then back on. If you don't see the Share System Notifications option:
    1. Restart your Fitbit device. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
    2. Tap Allow when you receive a message on your iPhone or iPad asking if you want your Fitbit device to show notifications.
    3. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device
    4. Turn on Share System Notifications.

3. CHECK YOUR NOTIFICATION SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings in the top-left to return to the Settings page > Notifications.
  2.  Make sure Show Previews is set to Always or When Unlocked.
  3. Verify the settings for each app that sends notifications:
App Settings
Calendar
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Tap each notification type and verify the settings:
    • Alerts > Notification Center—On
    • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Messages
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Phone
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
All other apps
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked

4. RESTART YOUR PHONE

For instructions, see the Apple help article.

If these steps do not resolve the issue for you, please keep your app up to date, and watch this thread for new information. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while our team works to address this.

I have the IOS 13.1.3, when I made the update, my versa 2 was no longer receiving the notifications.
By changing the option in "settings-> Notifications-> Messages-> show preview -> Always" I have notifications again.

Then I guess Fitbit’s claim of compatibility is false? You’re welcome.

Not all of us can show previews on our phones because of our jobs. I have clients coming to my desk on a regular basis and they don’t always respect my privacy if I’m not there. Part of the appeal of the Fitbit was being able to see my messages on my watch — WHILE PROTECTING MY PRIVACY ON MY PHONE. It’s ridiculous how long this is taking and yet another example of why having no customer service based in countries where your clients live is a bad idea. The customer and technical service departments can’t even access the engineering department and we can’t contact the engineering department to get the straight answers we’re owed. Worst worst part? FITBIT DOESNT SEEM TO CARE. That’s the biggest issue to me. Completely messed up.

Yes, I restarted my Fitbit, my phone, my app, everything I can think of. Bluetooth still will not locate my device.

My first fit bit 3 kicked the van and now I am on my second. Now after the update, this fit bit 3 is useless now too. I have tried every step on this thread and I still do not receive any text or call notifications on my watch.

Honestly I’m considering switching to an Apple Watch and that does not make me happy by any means.

It is now patently obvious that the Fitbit technical dept are either incompetent or they couldn’t care less about those who have shelled out for a product that promised so much but failed to deliver because of bugs within the app.

The time that I have wasted talking to the ‘help’ going through the troubleshooting routes and writing replies in the community pages only to have the Moderators suggest more useless fixes, (are the moderators actually monitoring these posts? Are the posts being passed on to those who can make a difference? Have the senior management and the CEO been made aware of the potential harm to their reputation and profits?)

As per the banner at the top of page Fitbit are still hiding behind the iOS 13 update when the problem is the with the app, re: those who have the same problems with their android devices,

Apparently Fitbit have now taken to advertising in Facebook, that could be a killer as social media can target the users and those that may be contemplating buying a fitness tracker, which one would you recommend at his present time?

Maybe an email the CEO will start a butt kicking exercise..

I love your energy!!!

I was asked to be patient again!!!!

I didn’t ask their patience when I paid for the Charge 2. I would never have brought this one in particular if it were not for the bells and whistles that I wanted in this product. I am greatly inconvenienced and I believe they (the Fitbit developers) have been extremely inconsiderate of the Fitbit users.

I even upgraded my phone in hopes that it would resolve the issue. No such thing!

No resolution. No compensation. Just be patient. That’s good customer service where??????

I just updated to iOS 13.1.3, restarted the phone, and now notifications and phone calls are coming to my Fitbit Versa.  Thank goodness.  Now I won't have to get the Apple watch I was eyeballing!
