Best AnswerI have found after the latest Fitbit update, that it now works by choosing preview "when not locked".
Best AnswerI just bought a versa 2 and iphone 11. I wasn’t getting text message notifications on my watch. I had my settings set to “when unlocked”. I read a bunch of these comments & tried my settings on “always” and now I get text notifications on my watch!

Best AnswerI found that if you chose "preview when unlocked", no text are shown as long as the phone is locked.
Best AnswerBut with the iPhone 10 when you look at your phone it unlocks and immediately displays the preview. I don’t want my messages having previews on my phone at all. It never had to be that way before the update and it shouldn’t be now either
But when you look at your phone, it is to see the message? No?
So when you get a message, it does not show on your phone until you look at it. This is how it is for now. We can only hope for a total fix.
But at this time, it is the best it gets, it seems.
Best AnswerSince I bought a new phone and then had the new update I have been missing everything.
Notifications are pretty much non existent. I don't get any notifications anymore regarding my steps for the day or the reminder to step every hour. This feature is no longer working.
Half my messages work on my watch, but only by checking it every now and then. No longer does my wrist viberate for messages or even for phone calls. I actually get NO notifications on phone calls and only see the texts if I decide to look.
This has turned into a very big inconvenience. I have tried everything I can find.
That is a good as it gets for now but still u acceptable to me as who knows who is standing next to me when I look at my phone. I don’t need previews at all and I don’t want them.
I hear you, and totaly agree..
All up to Fitbit now.
Ok over a month now and NO update from Fitbit on the iOS 13 update issue. I have tried everything on my Fitbit and my iPhone and NOTHING “Very Frustrating”. I keep trying at least once a week and NOTHING!!!!!! Has anyone had any luck? I wish Fitbit was working on fixing the issue instead of sending a new product out the door that probably has the same issue. Doesn’t look good!!!
@JLP01 I attached a link that had Fitbits latest update on the issue. You probably won't find it helpful as all it says is its being reviewed. Being "reviewed" can mean a lot of things. You'll see in this forum that simple straightforward answers are avoided. They also closed the thread to prevent anyone from commenting.
Anyway, the original title of the thread was "Did Google Kill iOS Notifications" it got censored! While it might not outline a fix hopefully it'll provide some insight into potential reasons why fitbit hasn't fixed it yet.

Best Answer@thenameless1 give Fitbit a call, in general, even with the latest iOS, they have successfully talked the users through the steps needed to get notifications working.
