Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Update 12/13/2019: Please ensure you are on the latest iOS version, currently 13.3. Also check out the updated instructions in our notification help article

This thread is a continuation of our previous discussion on notification issues introduced with iOS 13. If you are experiencing difficulty with your notifications after updating to iOS 13, please carefully follow the steps in this article, which are also documented below.

These steps should resolve the issue when followed correctly. We realize this process can take some time, and encourage you to proceed carefully and deliberately through every step, even if you think you've already done so.

If these steps do not appear to resolve the issue for you, please try them at least once more to be certain, then respond in this thread with specific details about where you were unable to proceed, or what unexpected behavior you are still experiencing.

1. GET UP-TO-DATE

  1. Update the Fitbit app.
  2. Make sure you installed the latest version of iOS. Tap Settings > General > Software update to see if an update is available.

2. CHECK YOUR BLUETOOTH SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings > Bluetooth.
  2. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device.
  3. Turn Share System Notifications off and then back on. If you don't see the Share System Notifications option:
    1. Restart your Fitbit device. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
    2. Tap Allow when you receive a message on your iPhone or iPad asking if you want your Fitbit device to show notifications.
    3. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device
    4. Turn on Share System Notifications.

3. CHECK YOUR NOTIFICATION SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings in the top-left to return to the Settings page > Notifications.
  2.  Make sure Show Previews is set to Always or When Unlocked.
  3. Verify the settings for each app that sends notifications:
App Settings
Calendar
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Tap each notification type and verify the settings:
    • Alerts > Notification Center—On
    • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Messages
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Phone
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
All other apps
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked

4. RESTART YOUR PHONE

For instructions, see the Apple help article.

5. DOUBLE-CHECK

If these steps do not resolve the issue for you, please keep your app up to date, and double-check the following:

  • DO NOT DISTURB

This feature prevents your phone from sending notifications. Verify that Do Not Disturb is off:

  1. On your phone, tap Settings > Do Not Disturb.
  2. Make sure Do Not Disturb is turned off.
  • SET UP NOTIFICATIONS IN THE FITBIT APP
  1. With your Fitbit device nearby, tap the Today tab

     > your profile picture.
  2. Tap your device image > Notifications. Follow the on-screen instructions to pair your Fitbit device to your phone.
  3. Choose the types of notifications you want to receive. Tap App Notifications and choose the apps you want notifications from.
  4. Sync your device.

Again, if these steps do not work for you, please try them more than once and then let us know specific details about your experience so that we can assist further. Please keep your app up to data and watch this thread for new information.

It's being two month since my Blaze doesn't stop vibrating after answering the incoming calls. Shame on you Fitbit. If you wont fix it by end of year you will loose me as a loyal customer after 3 years and multiple devices. All you need is to get your hands on the iOS 13 new way of sending notifications and issue a firmware and software update!

Not sure what changed but my notifications started coming across again on my watch tonight after removing it from the Fitbit app and adding it again. I’ve literally done this numerous times with no luck before so who knows.

I have followed all the steps in this article repeatedly for the last 2 hours. I still am not receiving notifications.  I see people have replied to this post weeks ago and there doesn’t seem to be a fix. Will there be one soon?  This is so frustrating

I am very displeased that after several months, I am still not receiving text notifications on my Charge 2.  I have tried every fix multiple times (delete and reinstall fitbit app, removed and added fitbit again) and it still does not work.  I do receive calendar notifications, just not texts and it is very frustrating.  What is fitbit doing to remedy this situation? It should have been resolved by now.

Just wanted to let you all know that mine is still working ever since I found the setting through pressing the button on my Charge 2.  It has been a couple weeks, and it hasn't given me any more trouble yet.

Which setting are you referring to? Notifications are set to “On” on my Fitbit.

Thanks!

Hi I have followed all the steps in the thread - unpairing Bluetooth, restarting fit bit etc and I followed the very long link with the settings Instructions and still nothing! I have an Alta and use the iPhone 6s with the latest version of software

I have tried ALL the suggestions many times and still no luck in receiving
text messages on my Fitbit Charge 3 (which I just received couple of weeks
ago to replace my Fitbit Charge 2)

I've tried the fix detailed in your article several times over the past few months.  I'm on the latest ios and fitbit versions and have tried again twice today and it still doesn't work.  I'm receiving alerts on my fitbit for phone calls but not texts.

Can you help?

That is what I was referring to.  I had been doing all the suggested things for weeks with no luck.  One night in bed, I was pressing the button to check my battery, and the notifications setting page was there.  It had never been there before.  Once I set it to on, on the actual watch, it worked again.  It hasn't been working since October till now.

David, again no joy with the suggestions.

I have been passed to the Higher level of support on numerous occasions and their response is not adequate.

Please understand my concern that I have only had this item in my possession since Sunday and it has not lived upto the advertised expectation.

I feel exhausted with the amount of time this has eaten up. A €300 watch which does not work as advertised and the added pressure of returning the item for a refund.

Please just email the response I requested. For ease I have pasted it again below.

I require an email from Fitbit stating the product is faulty considering I only bought it last Sunday.

Please email me a statement stating the Item is faulty so I can get a refund.

This is all I ask. Please at least honor this request.

@DavideFitbit  I have tried all the suggestions.  I had the Alta up until this past Tuesday, received the Versa and still does not work.  I did get the text messages to show up on my Versa but I had to switch my iPhone notifications  to show message preview and I do not want that , so back to no text messages showing up on my Versa. I have reached out to Fitbit at least 4 times and after speaking with them...it's always the same response. We are working on it.  Very disappointing as this feature like others have stated is very handy when you cannot have your phone next to you at all times.

why dont you just send us all fitbit devices that work?

or better yet, text your updates before releasing them?
