Hello,
Like everyone else here, I am experiencing that same issues. I have an Ionic that stopped receiving texts once I updated to iOS 13. I have gone through this suggested list three times with an iPhone 7 and my original Ionic. Recently I got an iPhone XS and a new Ionic in hopes to fix this issue myself, but no luck. With my new devices I have also gone through this suggested list and still nothing. I love Fitbit and do not want to change from the Ionic, but not receiving texts is missing out on a great feature. I appreciate you all trying to fix this and would love to have it solved soon. Thank you.

I tried everything listed in the troubleshooting instructions numerous times and finally I turned my messages on to allow preview and now it works. Go to settings on your phone, click notifications, scroll down to messages and for show preview, click when phone is unlocked. It now works; I am receiving my texts again on my Versa Lite. I’ve always had this set to never and never had an issue until I updated IOS. Hope this works for y’all.

I have tried the trouble shooting directions stated in this thread. I get calendar updates and phone calls through my fit bit. So I know it is paired and working. After I updated to the new iOS update I have lost all texting. Please advise what else I can do. Really need to have text alerts on my fit bit.
thank you.

Mine was doing the exact same thing. After numerous attempts at following their instructions, I finally set my notifications for messages to allow preview when phone is unlocked and now my texts are coming through.

I am not able to receive text messages. I have jumped through all the resetting hoops. Obviously, this is a problem. I am assuming i need to return my Fitbit Versa 2. I regret I got rid of my Charge 1. never dealt with theses issues.
Looks like Apple may be the best move since I have an iPhone.

Thanks, this actually worked. I had to go the Fitbit on notifications and set the same way.

I think if they haven't fixed it by now, their not going to. Unfortunately I accepted this and moved on to the Apple watch. I got the series 5 for Christmas and I couldn't be happier. I don't have to use multiple apps and it tracks my heart rate, timer, my distance, my calories all on one screen as I work out. Only thing was I had to download an app to keep track of my sleep. But I get my notifications now flawlessly and its a great workout tool. I highly recommend it for those of you who are frustrated and can either take your fitbit back for a refund or able to move on from fitbit like I did. I know it's not easy as these are expensive devices. But if we are paying for so much expense, everything should be working and all features should be able to be used.

Did all the steps three times and I still can’t get my text messages to come through on my versa. Get all the messages from Facebook and phone calls. Nothing for text, getting very upset about this!

I updated my Fitbit Alta to an Inspire HR thinking my Alta was old and not working properly after I stopped receiving notifications only to find my Inspire is not receiving notifications either. I have followed your steps numerous times over the past 7 days and still nothing. If you know there is an issue and people have been reporting and complaining for months about it, why have you not resolved the issue?? What can I do to actually get what I paid for?!?

I am giving up on FitBit. None of these steps work. It’s really frustrating and misleading for Fitbit to publish these troubleshooting steps when they know they will not work. One of their customer service people admitted to me on the phone that there’s absolutely nothing you can do to fix it and promised that an update would be available weeks ago. Well, nothing came out. Don’t bother calling or chatting online with customer support! It will be a waste of your time! These devices don’t work properly, plain and simple.

I have this same issue with my Ionic but I don’t get ANY vibrations anymore for texts, calls, calendar, Snapchat, timer and even the alarms. I also do not get vibrations to move. At x:50 I can see it says how many steps are needed, but no vibrations. If I am not paying attention then I miss my steps for the hour. This started 1 1/2 months ago after the iOS 13 update. I am on the latest 13.3.3 version, the most updated version of the Fitbit app 3.12.1 and firmware 70.7.14. I have followed these steps to the T everyday for the past 2 weeks with no luck. I have also done About>Shutdown, did a factory reset on my Ionic, removed the device from Bluetooth, removed my Fitbit app and set everything up again like it was new and no luck. I have missed several calls and texts since I do not constantly have my phone in my hand throughout the day. Right now this is a $300 watch that only tells time and tracks my activity.

Still not working. Have tried many times and restarted phone and Fitbit many times. What is the fix here?

I tried the whole process multiple times, without success. The only thing I've noticed is when I reset my Fitbit charge 2 while it's on the charger my iPhone never asked me to allow notifications from/to the Fitbit

I completed all the steps listed and still not receiving text message alerts. I do get other alerts, but my text are not showing up.

If I'm understanding the instructions correctly, in order to NOW receive text notifications on my Fitbit (I have an Ionic), I need to have my text previews turned on on my iPhone? For my purposes, that's not an acceptable solution as I don't want people being able to preview my texts on my phone if my phone is sitting out, for example.

@SunsetRunner That would be assuming the fix actually works for you!
Many people in this thread have reported going through the steps several times and still not being able to receive text notifications.
If you're one of the lucky ones where it does work then currently on page 32 of this thread there are a couple of users who had some success hiding the message preview. You should see some steps outlined, but depending on your needs you may have to adjust for all of your apps.

I get phone notifications not texts. Have done this several times. Like i said when i reset my fitbit charge 2 my iphone never asks to allow notifications. I don't like having my messages visible either. Thats not an acceptable option
