We are aware of an issue preventing some users from receiving notifications on their iPhone after updating to iOS 13. If you're having trouble receiving notifications and you updated your iPhone or iPad to iOS 13, follow the steps in this article, which are also documented below:

1. GET UP-TO-DATE

  1. Update the Fitbit app.
  2. Make sure you installed the latest version of iOS. Tap Settings > General > Software update to see if an update is available.

2. CHECK YOUR BLUETOOTH SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings > Bluetooth.
  2. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device.
  3. Turn Share System Notifications off and then back on. If you don't see the Share System Notifications option:
    1. Restart your Fitbit device. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
    2. Tap Allow when you receive a message on your iPhone or iPad asking if you want your Fitbit device to show notifications.
    3. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device
    4. Turn on Share System Notifications.

3. CHECK YOUR NOTIFICATION SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings in the top-left to return to the Settings page > Notifications.
  2.  Make sure Show Previews is set to Always or When Unlocked.
  3. Verify the settings for each app that sends notifications:
App Settings
Calendar
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Tap each notification type and verify the settings:
    • Alerts > Notification Center—On
    • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Messages
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Phone
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
All other apps
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked

4. RESTART YOUR PHONE

For instructions, see the Apple help article.

If these steps do not resolve the issue for you, please keep your app up to date, and watch this thread for new information. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while our team works to address this.

I have the same issue as well - just upgraded to iOS 13.1 and it only works when the Message Preview is set to Always (I prefer Never). Any idea when this will be fixed?

That trouble shooting has worked, but I don’t want my messages coming up on my phone when locked. So the problem will still be present on my Fitbit

I turned my text notifications on to show preview always and my notifications came back to my versa. Sucks because I don’t want people to be able to read my text. Hopefully this is a temporary fix and fitbit will get the problem resolved

Okay, I don't have an iphone. I have an android (Pixel 3XL).  What am I supposed to do to get back my notifications on my fitbit watch.

So basically, FitBit is aware of the issue yet is doing nothing to fix it. Guess I’m getting an Apple Watch next month instead of the Versa 2.

My app won’t even open ~ please do keep us posted.

Same issue here. Getting some notifications, but not from Arlo. I'll be forced to switch to Apple Watch if they can't get this resolved.

Same! Thanks to the tip above it now works! Stinks that my texts are shown on my screen but at least I get them on my Fitbit.  Thank you!!!

After reading all the rants on this topic, it reinforces my reluctance to adopt pretty much ANY update to the operation system until they basically force it out. I try to never even download the new version because once it's on my phone, eventually they just force an update overnight then I'm stuck with it!

I've been frustrated by FitBit's long record of ignoring ongoing issues. I'll probably wait til holiday period to try to get a deal on the next apple watch. I've been with FitBit for 5-7 years, and I finally think I'm done. I had this same issue (not receiving notifications on my fitbit Charge 2) after upgrading to ios 12, and in looking  back it seemed this had been an ongoing issue at that point with no real solution.

Humbug.

I’m having an issue where the Fitbit app is not recognizing that my Bluetooth is already on and I can’t sync my watch data to the app. Keep us posted!

I updated to ISO 13 today. I couldn’t figure out why I wasn’t receiving message notifications on my Versa LTE. Then I got onto the website and followed the instructions and still nothing. I receive every notification except my messages.

I’ve literally done everything! All my notifications are on and so is share system notifications and I’m still unable to get txt notifications! I even went into settings, notifications, scrolled to messages and changed the show previews to always and still I get nothing 🤦🏻‍:female_sign:!

I only receive my text messages if shows previews is always turned on which I never had to have before...I prefer the privacy of having my texts show up on my Fitbit and not on my phone screen please fix!

this "fix" still doesn't work :(((((

the moment I updated my iPhone, my watch stopped giving any alerts. I've tried everything suggested to fix it.

I LOVED my Fitbit blaze until this recent update - everything I've read says Fitbit isn't keeping up with tech and is going to obsolete. I hope that isn't the case b/c for the past 3 years I've had no issues!!
