We are aware of an issue preventing some users from receiving notifications on their iPhone after updating to iOS 13. If you're having trouble receiving notifications and you updated your iPhone or iPad to iOS 13, follow the steps in this article, which are also documented below:

1. GET UP-TO-DATE

  1. Update the Fitbit app.
  2. Make sure you installed the latest version of iOS. Tap Settings > General > Software update to see if an update is available.

2. CHECK YOUR BLUETOOTH SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings > Bluetooth.
  2. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device.
  3. Turn Share System Notifications off and then back on. If you don't see the Share System Notifications option:
    1. Restart your Fitbit device. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
    2. Tap Allow when you receive a message on your iPhone or iPad asking if you want your Fitbit device to show notifications.
    3. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device
    4. Turn on Share System Notifications.

3. CHECK YOUR NOTIFICATION SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings in the top-left to return to the Settings page > Notifications.
  2.  Make sure Show Previews is set to Always or When Unlocked.
  3. Verify the settings for each app that sends notifications:
App Settings
Calendar
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Tap each notification type and verify the settings:
    • Alerts > Notification Center—On
    • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Messages
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Phone
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
All other apps
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked

4. RESTART YOUR PHONE

For instructions, see the Apple help article.

If these steps do not resolve the issue for you, please keep your app up to date, and watch this thread for new information. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while our team works to address this.

I have done this twice and I don't know if I am missing a step somewhere, but I would really like to get my notifications back. I am a babysitter so I can't always be on my phone, but I always have contact with the parents. Is there any way to fix this issue? I have gone into settings clicked the "i" button made sure my share system notifications is on. My fitbit says that it should be receiving texts and calls; however, I haven't got one all day. Hoping you can resolve this issue. I am very true to Fitbit and really like you guys, but this is an inconvenience.

I got mine working again last night. I had to remove my Versa from my app and then add a new device since then all my notifications are working again

I deleted, reloaded and did all the fixes suggested and now in the Bluetooth settings there is no (i) next to my Versa. Not sure how to proceed. Any suggestions would be welcome! Thanks!

I also followed all the steps with no success.  I’m really frustrated... I went with the Versa because it was a more affordable option which in the past has been reliable.  However now it’s basically nothing more than a watch with steps.  I’ve missed calls and texts.  Unfortunately I cannot always turn on my sound in the office as it would be disruptive.  Any idea if a fix will be coming?  I switched from the iPhone 6S to the 11.
Thank you for your time.

Lizzy, can we have a status update?

I have meticulously gone through all the steps multiple times, and I am still not receiving notifications. Is there a solution yet? Are there other things I should try not listed in this forum?

I purchased my fitbit specifically because it is absolutely crucial to receive these notifications. Please tell me how the fix is progressing - a general time frame to expect this issue to be resolved, or at least an update on how the fitbit app developers (or whoever can solve the issue) are coming along would put my mind at ease. Thank you.
