We are aware of an issue preventing some users from receiving notifications on their iPhone after updating to iOS 13. If you're having trouble receiving notifications and you updated your iPhone or iPad to iOS 13, follow the steps in this article, which are also documented below:

1. GET UP-TO-DATE

  1. Update the Fitbit app.
  2. Make sure you installed the latest version of iOS. Tap Settings > General > Software update to see if an update is available.

2. CHECK YOUR BLUETOOTH SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings > Bluetooth.
  2. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device.
  3. Turn Share System Notifications off and then back on. If you don't see the Share System Notifications option:
    1. Restart your Fitbit device. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
    2. Tap Allow when you receive a message on your iPhone or iPad asking if you want your Fitbit device to show notifications.
    3. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device
    4. Turn on Share System Notifications.

3. CHECK YOUR NOTIFICATION SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings in the top-left to return to the Settings page > Notifications.
  2.  Make sure Show Previews is set to Always or When Unlocked.
  3. Verify the settings for each app that sends notifications:
App Settings
Calendar
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Tap each notification type and verify the settings:
    • Alerts > Notification Center—On
    • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Messages
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Phone
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
All other apps
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked

4. RESTART YOUR PHONE

For instructions, see the Apple help article.

If these steps do not resolve the issue for you, please keep your app up to date, and watch this thread for new information. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while our team works to address this.

Couldn’t agree more.  Even though I’ve only been with my Fitbit for a couple months I’m regretting not having gone with an Apple Watch right off the bat.  Researching and comparing models of those this morning.

Lesson learned and a couple hundred down the tubes.

I like my Ionic. Is it working ok? Yes. Will I buy another FitBit when it needs replaced? After this debacle, no chance.

Fitbit told me nothing that unfortunately it is a glitch and they are working on it. It could take 2 days, 2 weeks, 2 months they dont know. So i just need to go on using my fitbit even though it doesnt work for the reason i bought it!! Complete joke!Sent from my U.S. Cellular® Smartphone

Yes, I'd like to know if my FitBit Charger 3 is now obsolete? Can't even
use it as a watch! Very disappointing.

Now that’s interesting. They’ve been blaming it on IOS13 upgrade. What’s wrong with fitbit?

What I forgot to mention in my original post was that, after a week of working fine, it stopped and I obviously tried everything to no avail. Then the other night while complaining to my friends, I had my husband send me a message and it worked fine. But when I got home an hour later, it stopped.

Don’t bother. I put mine back to factory settings and it still didn’t work

It’s because Fitbit doesn’t wanna lose customers. I’ve already said some things about how I switched to an Apple Watch and love it and Fitbit messages me back that they had to remove my comment because it was inappropriate. Because they don’t wanna lose customers but they will because this is their responsibility to update their stuff and they’re not doing it

Didn’t fitbit get bought out by another company?

I agree with the charging and actually everything else you say. It’s acceptable that devices have issues but for this long? These devices are part of our lives (mine especially with cancer in my family) and tbh I’ve already ordered an Apple phone - I just can’t wait any longer.

I'm still not getting my notifications.  I've tried everything, even restarting my versa.  Very unhappy!!!!!

I did the same thing. Hard factory reset, removed and updated the app checked all of my notifications. Nothing is working. Fitbit on fb is giving all the same useless comments.

Maybe it's time for us to take to social media to put pressure on FitBit.
Twitter, Facebook, etc. Thoughts?

Google is trying to buy Fitbit, so they don’t care

Yep, been there and done that. They give the same bogus response “the complexity of the issue” and they can’t have a “specific timeframe of when it will be fixed”. 🙄

Really? Not sure I want Google knowing my whereabouts. Any more than they
already do!

I have finally gotten the text/call notifications to show on my FitBit Charge 2!!! After almost 2 months and doing all of the other "fixies/troubleshooting" I was ready to give up and get an Apple Watch come Christmas, however I really do like my FitBit. I have an iPhone XS and I finally just bit the bullet and reset my phone settings back to factory. It is a bit annoying to have to go back in and set everything back up as it us, but that takes less than 5 mins to do and I can FINALLY get my notifications on the Charge 2. Works flawlessly once again and I'm happy. Hopefully this is of some help to someone else.

I have tried every trouble shooting option that's been given, NOTHING has worked. I still get phones calls on my Versa but no other notifications whatsoever. Please help.
