We are aware of an issue preventing some users from receiving notifications on their iPhone after updating to iOS 13. If you're having trouble receiving notifications and you updated your iPhone or iPad to iOS 13, follow the steps in this article, which are also documented below:

1. GET UP-TO-DATE

  1. Update the Fitbit app.
  2. Make sure you installed the latest version of iOS. Tap Settings > General > Software update to see if an update is available.

2. CHECK YOUR BLUETOOTH SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings > Bluetooth.
  2. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device.
  3. Turn Share System Notifications off and then back on. If you don't see the Share System Notifications option:
    1. Restart your Fitbit device. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
    2. Tap Allow when you receive a message on your iPhone or iPad asking if you want your Fitbit device to show notifications.
    3. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device
    4. Turn on Share System Notifications.

3. CHECK YOUR NOTIFICATION SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings in the top-left to return to the Settings page > Notifications.
  2.  Make sure Show Previews is set to Always or When Unlocked.
  3. Verify the settings for each app that sends notifications:
App Settings
Calendar
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Tap each notification type and verify the settings:
    • Alerts > Notification Center—On
    • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Messages
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Phone
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
All other apps
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked

4. RESTART YOUR PHONE

For instructions, see the Apple help article.

If these steps do not resolve the issue for you, please keep your app up to date, and watch this thread for new information. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while our team works to address this.

The same instructions. Reset my phone then reset the versa and still a no go for texts only iMessage and phone notifications working. Can’t return it since it’s not their issue. Updated everything.

This problem with Fitbit has nothing to do with the Apple iOS updates people with a Samsung phone are having the same issues and it’s all because Fitbit isn’t updating there apps. I have an Apple Watch and an iPhone and I’ve had no issues since the last update. This is all Fitbit’s fault not Apple. Get an Apple Watch and you won’t have any issues even people who just bought a new Fitbit are having issues as well

I updated my phone to iOS 13 and like everyone else I no longer received notifications on my fitbit charger. I’ve tried all you recommendations and nothing works.

It's not a Fitbit problem.  It happened after Apple updated their operating system.  I think they did it on purpose so you wold buy an Apple Watch

It’s crazy that Fitbit has had a known issue for months yet can’t fix it and still continues to happily sell new devices to unsuspecting customers.  It’s dishonest and I’m going to change devices to a non-Fitbit product.

That’s not true because people who have a Samsung galaxy phone are having the same issues so stop blaming Apple they have nothing to do with it. This all has to do with Fitbit supposedly someone bought them. So stop blaming Apple it’s Fitbit to blame and because of that I switched to an Apple Watch and I haven’t had any issues with my updates so goes to show you it has nothing to do with Apple

  • Try turning your text notifications to preview, then turn the Bluetooth under fitbit off and back on. It sucks because you’ll have your text messages exposed on your phone but this worked.

I have tried all the instructions to a tee many times and still no notifications or sleep tracking. I did at one time. This missing part has been going on for months now. I have been very patient but bogus instructions to fix something on my charge 3 that will not work gets me very frustrated.

Same here. Very frustrating

It’s very aggravating I’m so glad I got an Apple Watch I only use the Fitbit to bed because I charge my Apple Watch every night and I’ve noticed with Fitbit that the battery dies down quickly than it used to it used to last days and now it’s dead by the end of the day
