We are aware of an issue preventing some users from receiving notifications on their iPhone after updating to iOS 13. If you're having trouble receiving notifications and you updated your iPhone or iPad to iOS 13, follow the steps in this article, which are also documented below:

1. GET UP-TO-DATE

  1. Update the Fitbit app.
  2. Make sure you installed the latest version of iOS. Tap Settings > General > Software update to see if an update is available.

2. CHECK YOUR BLUETOOTH SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings > Bluetooth.
  2. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device.
  3. Turn Share System Notifications off and then back on. If you don't see the Share System Notifications option:
    1. Restart your Fitbit device. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
    2. Tap Allow when you receive a message on your iPhone or iPad asking if you want your Fitbit device to show notifications.
    3. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device
    4. Turn on Share System Notifications.

3. CHECK YOUR NOTIFICATION SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings in the top-left to return to the Settings page > Notifications.
  2.  Make sure Show Previews is set to Always or When Unlocked.
  3. Verify the settings for each app that sends notifications:
App Settings
Calendar
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Tap each notification type and verify the settings:
    • Alerts > Notification Center—On
    • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Messages
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Phone
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
All other apps
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked

4. RESTART YOUR PHONE

For instructions, see the Apple help article.

If these steps do not resolve the issue for you, please keep your app up to date, and watch this thread for new information. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while our team works to address this.

I've upgraded my iphone to the new IOS 13. Now I don't receive text and call notifications on my Alta HR. In my Fitbit App settings. I have calls and texts notifications turned on. Anyone know how I may fix this?

Same thing here. I was receiving text messages on my Versa yesterday then I did the iOS13 update last night -nothing now. No texts coming through to my watch. I’ve removed my Versa 3x from my device, disabled and renabled  Bluetooth pairing etc. Quite irritating! 😑

Weird. I did everything like you but, the message previews are the only thing that work. I still don’t get any of my fb notifications but, I get my instagram ones? Makes no sense. Has anyone called Fitbit customer service?

This worked to get the the texts through to the Fitbit. Not ideal to have the messages come up, but a useful temporary measure until it’s fixed

Thank you!

@SunsetRunner for the additional app notifications, if you haven't done so, you will need to go under the the App notifications and choose which apps you want to send notifications to your wrist.

On android i could help you @TiaShorty with iOS I've noticed people mention a setting found in the phones notification center.

Just a note for the future both of your issues are not related to the subject and would have been better to have started your individual thread for individual help.

I bought a new iPhone 11Pro yesterday.  My Fitbit bluetooth does not work.  After 4 hours of uninstalling, installing, turning Bluetooth off and on, reinstalling IOS 13, NOTHING WORKS.  This is a Fitbit problem, not an Apple problem.  I'm on the verge of purchasing an Apple Watch today.  Goodbye, Fitbit.  This should not be happening.

The same thing is happening with my Versa! It receives all other notifications even calling but not text messages! I've tried blue tooth, I've tried forgetting my device, everything and still nothing.

YAY!! This is a great temporary fix- thank you!

Same. By the looks of things, this has occurred for iOS 12. I guess we just have to wait for Fitbit to issue a compatible update🤷🏾‍:male_sign:

I have had the same exact problem.  I'm not sure if it was the IOS 13 update or the Fitbit software update.  I did both the same night.  I called Fitbit and after a while, they said there is a problem.  This is the response I got:

Thanks for letting us know about this issue. We’re aware of it, but may not be able to provide a fix in the immediate future. We'll continue to monitor the situation, and keep our team informed of the impact to you and other customers. We understand that this isn't the resolution you're hoping for, but rest assured we're always working to improve our products.

We're sorry for any trouble. We appreciate your patience and look forward to getting you back on track.  Please let us know if you have any other questions.

I'm really hoping they get this fixed ASAP.  Very frustrated. One of the main reasons I love the Versa!!

I've even wondered if this is intentional so we have to buy the Versa 2 lol ` just a thought

I take back my negative Fitbit remarks.  Read this remedy for me.

After 4 hours of non-stop turning Bluetooth on and off on my new iPhone 11 Pro *and* reinstalling and deleting Fitbit app on my brand-new iPhone 11 Pro, I was ready to call it quits.

I then went to my old iPhone 6+ that has no SIM card in it.  My Fitbit app worked perfectly.  I turned the Bluetooth OFF on my old phone.  Then I went to my brand-new iPhone 11 Pro and reinstalled my Alta HR Fitbit.  Worked like a charm.  It asked me if I wanted to pair up with Bluetooth, and, of course, I said yes.

I'm back in the saddle again with Fitbit app on my iPhone 11 Pro/iOS 13.  Hope this helps others.  Whew!  Wasted 4 hours of my life today until I discovered this remedy.  I feel like a goofball. 😋

Mine works but only if I turn previews on in my phone message settings. I set it to display previews when phone unlocked and now my ionic is receiving txt alerts.

Thanks. This worked! A bit annoying to have texts displayed but at least goes to versa until an update fixes it. Thank you!

I got the iPhone 11 yesterday and since then I haven’t been receiving text notifications on my Versa. I still get calls and emails just not texts. I’ve re synced the phone, checked to make sure all notifications were on and still isn’t working. I just checked the list of phones that are compatible and the iPhone 11 isn’t listed. Does that mean This issue will not be resolved????

I just recently updated my iPhone XR with the new iOS 13 version that just came out. Since my phone has reset, I have been unable to receive text and cal notifications on my watch. I have tried everything to try to get them to appear. All my notifications are on, and I’m they are all allowed on both my watch and phone. My watch says it is connected to the Bluetooth and it is syncing to the app but still will not receive notifications.
