We are aware of an issue preventing some users from receiving notifications on their iPhone after updating to iOS 13. If you're having trouble receiving notifications and you updated your iPhone or iPad to iOS 13, follow the steps in this article, which are also documented below:

1. GET UP-TO-DATE

  1. Update the Fitbit app.
  2. Make sure you installed the latest version of iOS. Tap Settings > General > Software update to see if an update is available.

2. CHECK YOUR BLUETOOTH SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings > Bluetooth.
  2. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device.
  3. Turn Share System Notifications off and then back on. If you don't see the Share System Notifications option:
    1. Restart your Fitbit device. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
    2. Tap Allow when you receive a message on your iPhone or iPad asking if you want your Fitbit device to show notifications.
    3. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device
    4. Turn on Share System Notifications.

3. CHECK YOUR NOTIFICATION SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings in the top-left to return to the Settings page > Notifications.
  2.  Make sure Show Previews is set to Always or When Unlocked.
  3. Verify the settings for each app that sends notifications:
App Settings
Calendar
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Tap each notification type and verify the settings:
    • Alerts > Notification Center—On
    • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Messages
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Phone
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
All other apps
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked

4. RESTART YOUR PHONE

For instructions, see the Apple help article.

If these steps do not resolve the issue for you, please keep your app up to date, and watch this thread for new information. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while our team works to address this.

Are you able to see your notifications without having to turn the text preview feature on? I'm getting them on the watch that way, but I don't like when they're on my lockscreen.

I'm buying my iWatch tonight. The Blaze was tossed to the wayside by Fitbit just like communicating to all of us on how to receive notifications and connectivity with their products.

i followed the directions (and agree, hate my texts showing on my screen!) & it worked for a few hours, but I"m back to not getting any texts at all.

Is there an actual fix for Fitbit’s that stopped receiving text message notifications after updating to iOS 13? I have tried all of your recommended ideas and nothing has worked. It’s very frustrating that my husbands charge 2 is working just fine and mine isn’t. I enjoy having a Fitbit, but my charge 3 has been nothing but problems since I bought it. Come on Fitbit....get it together!

Someone up above said if you put it on "when unlocked" it will still work, and I just got a text that came thru on the watch but didn't show the preview on my phone. Going to try the whole forgetting the device and re-synching when I get home

This may not be new but I discovered that if you change your Show Previews to When Unlocked (Default) that the previews will only show on phone when unlocked and not locked. They will still show on Fitbit whether phone is locked or unlocked. Was driving me crazy but this is best solution I found

I've reset my versa (several times) uninstalled & reinstalled the app (several times), I've removed Versa from Bluetooth (several times). It was for a small window getting at least calls & facebook messenger notices but now it's down to calls. This is seriously frustrating and my versa is only a few months old.

Fitbit Update 10/8/2019: Hi everyone - we are still working on a fix for iOS 13 notification users and hope to have one soon. I still recommend the workarounds posted in the main thread in the meantime. Once I hear more I'll update this thread. Thanks very much for your patience and reports.

Have the Bluetooth forget your device and re-pair it

Me too! It’s ok. As long as the devices aren’t defective. We’ll just have to wait
