Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Update 12/13/2019: Please ensure you are on the latest iOS version, currently 13.3. Also check out the updated instructions in our notification help article

This thread is a continuation of our previous discussion on notification issues introduced with iOS 13. If you are experiencing difficulty with your notifications after updating to iOS 13, please carefully follow the steps in this article, which are also documented below.

These steps should resolve the issue when followed correctly. We realize this process can take some time, and encourage you to proceed carefully and deliberately through every step, even if you think you've already done so.

If these steps do not appear to resolve the issue for you, please try them at least once more to be certain, then respond in this thread with specific details about where you were unable to proceed, or what unexpected behavior you are still experiencing.

1. GET UP-TO-DATE

  1. Update the Fitbit app.
  2. Make sure you installed the latest version of iOS. Tap Settings > General > Software update to see if an update is available.

2. CHECK YOUR BLUETOOTH SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings > Bluetooth.
  2. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device.
  3. Turn Share System Notifications off and then back on. If you don't see the Share System Notifications option:
    1. Restart your Fitbit device. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
    2. Tap Allow when you receive a message on your iPhone or iPad asking if you want your Fitbit device to show notifications.
    3. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device
    4. Turn on Share System Notifications.

3. CHECK YOUR NOTIFICATION SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings in the top-left to return to the Settings page > Notifications.
  2.  Make sure Show Previews is set to Always or When Unlocked.
  3. Verify the settings for each app that sends notifications:
App Settings
Calendar
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Tap each notification type and verify the settings:
    • Alerts > Notification Center—On
    • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Messages
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Phone
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
All other apps
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked

4. RESTART YOUR PHONE

For instructions, see the Apple help article.

5. DOUBLE-CHECK

If these steps do not resolve the issue for you, please keep your app up to date, and double-check the following:

  • DO NOT DISTURB

This feature prevents your phone from sending notifications. Verify that Do Not Disturb is off:

  1. On your phone, tap Settings > Do Not Disturb.
  2. Make sure Do Not Disturb is turned off.
  • SET UP NOTIFICATIONS IN THE FITBIT APP
  1. With your Fitbit device nearby, tap the Today tab

     > your profile picture.
  2. Tap your device image > Notifications. Follow the on-screen instructions to pair your Fitbit device to your phone.
  3. Choose the types of notifications you want to receive. Tap App Notifications and choose the apps you want notifications from.
  4. Sync your device.

Again, if these steps do not work for you, please try them more than once and then let us know specific details about your experience so that we can assist further. Please keep your app up to data and watch this thread for new information.

Done all steps multiple times my phone now doesn’t pick up my device in Bluetooth unless it’s syncing. Then it has no i next to it. I’m at a total loss. But my notifications show on my child’s Fitbit 🤷🏼‍:female_sign:

Nothing has worked for me. I still just have the Fitbit logo. I keep trying different things and nothing changes.

I do not think this is just an Apple issue.

I have had my Fitbit for almost 7 months with zero issues until now. Ugg!

I have tried the troubleshoot steps multiple times and I am STILL not able to get any notifications to vibrate. They appear on my watch, but they don’t vibrate/notify me when they come in. This is ridiculous. I’m ready to return my watch. Please contact me and let me know how to do so.

After spending over 45 minutes on the phone with a supervisor from the support center, I feel like nothing is going to be done. After an extended period of time still no text message notifications are being received from my Fitbit inspire hr. It is so frustrating to spend money on something that is advertised to perform in a certain way and for it not to work solely because the company can not get the technology to update. I requested a refund and was told sorry this will not happen. I would have spent my money on a different product. Terrible customer service.

Tried three times and notifications still do not work.

I sold mine,  too much hustle   I'm not sure the company cares too much.

This is a joke! I just got this as a Christmas gift and it’s already not functioning as it should. I’ll be returning this crap tomorrow.

@Kh589218  All you have to do is make sure your previews are always on or only when unlocked

VERY FRUSTRATING. I followed all the steps 4 times for my mom’s Fitbit and still nothing. She has the Alta HR and I have the Charge 3. Fitbit products already stop working almost the day the warranty runs out, and now this?? I’m a step away from finding a different fitness tracking company. This is absurd.

Versa lite won't update to iphone 11.  Tried everything that your website said to do multiple times.  This is very irritating to spend the money on this and it won't work. This iOS crap makes me want to return it and buy something else that works.  I need someone to contact me with a fix or a replacement tracker

I have called their support phone number and gotten no where.  Each time they have me go through the same steps and nothing helps.  I went from an Apple Watch to a Versa 2 and wish I wouldn’t have.  No text messages, watch continues to ring after I have answered the phone.  Customer service has been no help.  Would never recommend Fitbit again.  After paying this kind of money things should work.

Super frustrated!!!!!    Tried all these steps several times and still not receiving notifications.  This is ridiculous. I loved my Versa before this update. Now I’m finding it useless.  My steps aren’t tracking either!!!

Have rest my iPhone and Fitbit Ionic a few times now being very careful to follow suggested settings.  I'm getting notifications but the Ionic doesn't buzz or show them on the screen.  I have to swipe to look for messages!

That's not much use.  Open to any suggestions!
