Welcome to the Fitbit Forums @malibukd! Keep in mind that the Fitbit Surge is the only one that can receive text notifications. And the only one to receive calendar notifications is the Fitbit Blaze. If your Fitbit Charge is not receiving call notifications, please review this article where you can find some tips to make them work. I also want to share with you the Fitbit Charge manual, so you can review its features and understand more about how they work.

I hope this helps. Let me know how it goes.

Hi @sashac and welcome! The following steps should resolve the issue of your Alta not receiving text notifications:

1. Restart your tracker.

2. Open your iOS settings > turn off Bluetooth for 10 seconds > and then turn Bluetooth back on.
3. Reboot your iOS device.

If you are still not receiving notifications after you've tried the steps above, I'd then recommend:

1. Open your iOS Bluetooth settings.

2. Click on your tracker and then tap "Forget Device".

3. Log out of the Fitbit app and reboot your iOS device.

4. Restart your tracker.

5. Turn on your notifications in the Fitbit app by: tapping the Account button in the bottom right-hand corner > tap the tracker tile at the top > tap notifications > and turn on notifications.

This should help, but let me know if it doesn't for some reason.

Trying to set up notifications but keep getting never ending circle (iPhone 4s, Bluetooth is setup, all notifications are enabled in Settings, do not disturb is not enabled, syncing is working fine). Frustrated I can't figure it out. Any help is appreciated.

In order for the Fitbit to be able to access the text message you must have text notifications set to display in the iPhone notification center. On your iPhone go to Settings/Notifications/Messages then select Show In Notification Center

Having the same issue. Did all the steps you recommend. Nothing. Have a new Alta now as well, same problem. No text notifications received... Checked everything. Nada. Extremely frustrated. And still hasn’t worked with the “new” updates

Hey there @J9bean, it's nice to see you around the forums! Thanks for following the steps I've shared here.

While reading your post I was wondering if you're on iOS device? If so,  have you upgraded to iOS 11? If this is the case I'd recommend trying using an Android device included in this list to see if the issue is coming from the iPhone.

Also, let me know if you're not getting all the notifications or only the text ones.

Give this a shot and let me know how it goes, I'll be around!
