Hello everyone!

I would like to announce that the redesigned Fitbit app starts rolling out today! This new app will help you reach your goals, and bring the health and wellness information right on hand.

Check out our latest blog for how to get the most out of the new app.

Note: Please be patient if you don't see the update right away, as it will take some time to roll out completely.

Happy stepping!

The New Today tab is horrendous, 800 steps backwards from before  the update.  Now, every card is the same color, same font, same everything.  You cannot easily see what you are looking at.  It honestly may as well be an excel spreadsheet.  Bring back the old view!!

Give us the old UI back! This new one is utter garbage. Overly simplistic and yet somehow more confusing to navigate, well done. No dark mode option, no battery life indicator, far too much white space. Bare minimum stuff here. It used to be easy to configure your dashboard to your own preferences instead of these new garbage pre-defined options only. The old UI wasn’t perfect but at least it gave the users most of what we wanted. Give the people what they want!

I have no confidence in fitbit ,or whoever owns it now, to be responsive enough to get this right. I’m definitely moving on to another product and platform. These comments should be required reading for every executive and shareholder in this involved with this company.

Hello,

I do not know for others but I personally used Fitbit to help me to relax, follow my sleep and be motivate to walk (and to feel like a sort of comfort when I see my progress)

I am easily stressed, and using the watch and the apps is a way to unwind. Now when I connect the app I am more stressed than before opening it. I dislike the knew design, I don't feel like I am at home anymore. Plus it really frustrated me that I have no choice about it, I can not come back as what it was, I just have to do with it. For an app of wellbeing they really don't think about all the person that can be stress about change or people that don't want to spend time learning the new apps.

I am sure some people are really happy about the new and I am happy for them, but it is not complicated to offer 2, 3 or 4 different designs (as the dark mode...)

Because I was using the app and features to relax, being upset by them made me lose interest in using them.

Agree.

And PLEASE do something with that big “+’” button that is always in the way. That is a really bad idea!

Oh, forgot to add to my post below - Premium is being immediately cancelled.

I don't like it please tell me how to get the old style back

The design team needs to go back to the drawing board and look at the features that were great about the last app. This app is plain and boring and the options that were useful are no longer available such as battery percentage not just full medium and low…this has certainly pushed my decision faster to get an Apple Watch instead.

I don't like the new look. I prefer the old one, it was more colorful and intuitive. Is there a way to go back?

Fitbit has until the end of October to fix the new app or give me the option to revert back to the last version, or I'm out.  I'll buy something else. New app is absolutely hideous.  Inaccurate mileage (biked 40.8 miles, recorded 25.4), the map is useless (all detail gone, and I liked that it would put up your mileage total, on the map instead of down below.  I, like other users who have spelled out their displeasure in nearly 60 pages of complaints, am not at all happy with the update.  You took something that wasn't broken and broke it.

Hi LizzyFitbit, it looks like Harold's purple crayon except it's teal. NG! Not good.....  Also, that's the dumpiest looking "shoe" I've ever seen.

The metrics that are important to me when working out are: steps, miles, flights of stairs (I have a Charge 4 with an altimeter -- yay!!), heart rate WITH ZONES showing clearly, and calories burned.

I had those metrics all grouped together at the top of the screen so I could monitor them while working out.

Now to have the heart rate show up at the top of the screen I have to turn off health metrics. I'd love to see them, but there doesn't seem to be any way to get them unless I turn them on and put them above the heart beat. It's crazy. I look at the health metrics once a day. I look at heart rate all the time. Why put health metrics higher than heart rate?? And the huge plus sign blocks the oversimplistic circle that tells you where your heart rate is.

Same with the "Activity" group. I look at "hourly activity" all the time through the day. I look at "exercise days" once after doing a workout to make sure it logged. So why is "hourly activity" lower on the screen than "exercise days"? Just more scrolling, scrolling, scrolling and tapping, tapping, tapping to find what I'm interested in.

And flights are relegated to a far lower position by Fitbit, I'm sure because you are getting rid of the altimeters. Bah humbug.

You are just making it harder and harder to use this app for motivation. It's just a bunch of hard-to-find data points that are difficult to connect into trends or any sense of progress. I've had at least four Fitbits in eight years and loved this app. No more. Very sad.

I've spent a few days trying to settle into the new app, trying to give it a chance and not just take my initial judgement. But, I really really dislike this update. It's so monotone that nothing stands out, making it really difficult to navigate. I'm normally all for "cool new updates", even if they take a bit of getting used to. But not this. This makes me engage far less with my data. Switch it back, please!

I wouldn't be surprised if this was a ploy to drive customers away and launch a new product. The new app is so bad it makes no sense.

Best Answer

You need to go to the Google Play store or apple store and complain on the app if enough of us complain that will bring there rating down and then they might actually do something hopefully

Best Answer

Well one thing is for sure, I won't be buying a Google watch. I've complained already and on Twitter/X too - Thousands of complaints and just a blanket awful response.

Hey Fitbit developers.

It should be clear to you now that you have rolled out the “New Coke” of fitness apps.

Give the people what they want and bring back the “Classic” version!

Best Answer

Definitely thinking this is a ploy to drive customers away from Fitbit and towards Google Pixel. Launch awful fitbit app update at the same time as launching new Google Pixel "leak" on a massive scale- no doubt with a much better app UX/UI stolen from Fitbit.
