Hello everyone!

I would like to announce that the redesigned Fitbit app starts rolling out today! This new app will help you reach your goals, and bring the health and wellness information right on hand.

Check out our latest blog for how to get the most out of the new app.

Note: Please be patient if you don't see the update right away, as it will take some time to roll out completely.

Happy stepping!

Well, the only conclusion I am left with given the slow job of addressing customer complaints than is they really don’t know what they are doing

The new UI is aweful!  I'm ditching Fitbit!

I don't love the changes! I hate them.

I was wondering why I don't feel rested in the morning, while my sleep numbers seem somewhat accurate, apparently I'm taking over 10,000 steps in my sleep since this fabulous app update. Several nights a week. Yes this is sarcasm. And yes I wake up with over ten thousand steps on my app, not my Fitbit, the APP.

Thanks Guy, I suppose I’ll need a different app at the least or change to a more traditional GPS exercise tracker. Thanks for your help though.

I just updated to version 4.06

As far a I can see, none of the problems posted in the last couple weeks have been fixed. 1) You still can't see the full exercise details until you tap the "Edit Exercise Details" icon (pencil) and then tap "< Back". 2) The seconds are not displayed on the exercise duration. 3) The Pace calculation is incorrect because it's using the duration without the seconds. This is wrong on the fitbit app and fitbit.com. 4) The elevation is consistently off by a factor of 3.281x. After my walk/run today, the fitbit app reported 915' elevation gain. Fitbit.com correctly shows 279' elevation gain.

I'm feeling like google/fitbit wants the iOS platform to die. Time to start shopping for another fitness tracker.

So sad - I have been a loyal Fitbit user and fan for 10 years. Very disappointing.

my app has failed to synch properly the last 2 days and is becoming increasingly unreliable in addition to all the other private here identifyied

You bought a product with advertised features. Suddenly, the product eliminates 30 to 40 % of the original features. Why, as a consumer should I not have redress? In America.

Best Answer

In addition to the time wasted watching the numbers scroll like a telethon tote board, they have taken away the ability to classify exercise so anything that isn’t walking is aerobic exercise.  Unnecessary “upgrade” when features are removed.

It doesn’t appear to do anything. I see no difference between 4.04 and 4.06. Maybe a bit better syncing, but overall it’s still trash.

This version 4.04 is a major step backwards and absolutely sucks!  Who approved this software release?  Three issues so far which are ridiculous degradations of a formerly good app;

1. Now my workout time is rounded. So when I run I don’t get to see a record of my exact time, just rounded to the minute. What? You don’t understand my persona as someone who is tracking my workout performance.

2. For my run workouts the average pace is calculated incorrectly.  This is a bug and how did that get through to the release?

3. When I view hike workouts I get kicked out of the app.

Also there are other changes in recent releases that I have not liked at all, like how the view on calories, steps, and zone minutes history has changed.  Instead of improving the last few releases have been steps backwards.  Whoever is driving the changes to this app is doing an absolute terrible job!  Thank You, may I have another! How much worse are you going to make this?  Garmin here I come.  I’ve been a Fitbit user since 2016 but am ready to leave.  You fools at Google are taking this product the wrong direction!

every new version takes away your app and cripples it further!  What is the plan?

first you took away our ability to monitor batteries strength and we complained and you brought it back.

Yay!

thrn you took away the ability to display heart rate zones under exercises!  WTH!?!

every “update” takes away more and more color?  What purpose does that serve on a device that can display beautiful color?

Anyone who has ever worked with the physiology of human interfaces knows the color is a great enhancement to an interface!

Tell your IT department that users want COLOR back in the interface and we want to be able to look at our exercise and see the zones attained and where and when , in COLOR!

The new look app is shocking, massive step backwards so can you please revert back to previous look and feel

All the new redesigns make Fitbit look like any other beige website. People are being paid to change something everyone was good with. No customers were asking for a completely new design. It was fun and colorful, data was easily recognizable. Tracked workouts don’t even show heart rate anymore. The entire interface is falling apart and nobody is happy about it.

Everything was fine until this new UI which isn’t improving with updates. Since it doesn’t seem to be going away I guess I’ll have to. I’d like to enjoy interacting with my exercise tracker app again. 😣

Agreed.  The whole reason I have my Fitbit is to track runs and they’ve gotten rid of so much detail.

No kidding. The new app SUCKS

The new application is by all parameters of less quality than the previous. It is harder to synchronize. Not only that it takes longer time, but it is showing some features form yesterday  and you can see it as it is under today, but for example one parameter (like sleep or readiness or it can be anything ) is clearly written -yesterday and you can see it by the value. For sleep especially it is not accurate. I know when exactly I fell asleep and different time is shown quite often. It is not accurate with registering walking as well. And last but not the least,  in esthetic terms it is below any level for US based company. It seems that you engaged completely new company for update which is not at the same level as the previous. Honestly, your overal level and concept is excellent and it is a pity that application is of such a bad quality now. It is especially visible as the previous one was excellent and this is a very unpleasant surprise. Every day it id struggling to function and I struggle with it.

I hate the new look app! It’s a bit boring and very bland and not very inspiring.

why is everything now showing averages! I want to compare actual numbers for weeks/months not averages!

Now google are taking over I think this will be my last Fitbit!

since recent updates my battery life has really plummeted and I seem to be forever charging my device!
