Versa won't connect to Bluetooth - Iphone 8

I just got my Fitbit versa today! I’m trying to connect with my iphone8 and it’s not connecting with Bluetooth. It’s not even recognizing the watch. Disappointed.

I'm having the same exact issue and I have the iphone 7.

Having the same issue with iPhone 8. Connected watch yesterday, everything worked, this morning it wouldn’t sync. Reset watch and went through all the troubleshooting steps. Finally got it connected to the phone but it couldn’t find my home network and won’t connect for notifications but can change clock face.

and now it’s not syncing again.

Did the reset too. Seems to be almost everyone is having connectivity issues with the versa and Fitbit has not found a solution. Very disappointing

After I initially synced the Versa to my phone and everything was working yesterday, I unpaired my old watch from my phone and gave it to my daughter. Watch continued to work until this morning, when it wouldn't sync. Now that I'm home, I did a reset again on the watch and deleted the app again. Bluetooth still won't connect, app seems to be downloading an update, again but the watch periodically throws up the red X that something has failed. This morning when I went through all these steps, at the very end, it said the update failed but the watch would typically sync though no notifications. This shouldn't be this hard.

Customer Support had me unpair the device and now I cannot even get it paired without doing a full reset, as I did yesterday. But I went through ALL the tricks prior to unpairing. Fitbit has a huge issue with this watch.

I’ve updated the software in the watch. The watch will always work for that day. The next morning, won’t connect. Every. Time. I can only get it to reconnect if I do a factory reset. So, let us know if that’s still working for you tomorrow morning.

Talked to tech support twice. It was to be passed on to a higher level of tech support, which I have not heard from.

I am having the same issues with my Versa where it will not pair with my iphone 8.  I have restarted both the versa and the iphone, deleted the versa and set it up again.  The iphone simply will not recognize it.  Sometimes it will pair with my ipad but it will not always sync my exercise.   Or when it does, it says i biked when I ran.  I am so disappointed in this Versa.  I am seriously thinking about getting an iwatch instead but hate that i spent so much on the useless Versa.   Fitbit needs to acknowlege that they have serious software issues with the Versa and get them addressed!  Too many of us are having exactly the same issues to be an isolated case.

Just received my Fitbit versa and it won't contect with my Wifi, I continued seting up with just bluetooth and the only screen that shows is the clock screen? It won't swipe to anything else?  I can't reset it ? Is anyone with a iphone 8 having these problems.  I've been trying to find any options to make my versa work.  Very Dissapointed I have other fitbits and they sync and work fine with my phone.  Any help would be appreciated

Hello @RenaBo@Ianto54 and @Jlepage, thanks for joining the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. Smiley Happy

Thanks for bringing this to my attention, if you're still having trouble syncing your Versa, please check the following:

  • Make sure the latest version of the Fitbit app is installed on your phone.
  • The software on your mobile device is up to date. To check, tap Settings > General > Software Update.
  • Make sure there are no other Bluetooth devices around as they might interfere with the syncing process
  • Check that your Fitbit device's battery isn't critically low.

If your device still won't sync, try these steps:

  1. Force quit the Fitbit app.
  2. Go to Settings > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth off and back on.
  3. Open the Fitbit app.
  4. If your Fitbit device didn't sync, restart your phone again.
  5. Open the Fitbit app.
  6. If your Fitbit device didn't sync, restart it one more time by pressing and holding the Back and Select buttons (left and bottom right) until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen.
  7. If your Fitbit device won't sync after the restart, log in to your Fitbit account on a different phone, tablet, or computer and try to sync.
  8. If your Fitbit device still doesn’t sync, remove all other Fitbit devices from your account and from the list of connected Bluetooth devices on your mobile device and try to sync.

Now, if your Versa is not setting up correctly, I would like to suggest you to check this post with instructions and troubleshooting steps in how to set up your Versa.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.

I just got it to work on my iPhone 6, as i was on the phone with support and had my phone searching for the versa/versa docked and charging....I downloaded the fitbit app on my iPad and as i was about to login on the iPad i looked at my phone and it found the versa. Not sure if it was coincidence or maybe a backdoor fix but people should try this.
