Update 9/17/2019: We have released iOS app version 3.6.1 to all users. Please update your app to this version. It is recommended to all experiencing continuous crashes and should resolve this issue.

Hi Everyone - I've merged several posts together.

We're aware of an issue that may cause some iOS users to experience a continuous crash when trying to open the app after updating to version 3.6.

To resolve this, please try to uninstall and reinstall the app from the app store. Even if you have tried this previously, please try again.

If this does not work, our team is working to resolve it and hope to have a fix soon. Be sure to keep your Fitbit device and app up-to-date to ensure you receive the quickest resolution.

We're sorry for any trouble. We appreciate your patience and look forward to getting you back on track.

Yes. Uninstall and reinstall worked to keep it from crashing

but

it won’t  sync

what now?

Will I lose my existing data if i uninstall and re install?

Best Answer

That is the same thing that happened to me!

I have an iPhone 7 and the Fitbit app updated to 3.6 and now as soon as I open the Fitbit app to sync, the app crashes.

I’ve been going loco trying to figure out why.

Thankful that Fitbit is aware of the issue and is working on it.

My fitbit app just crushed today on my Iphone. This is super, super annoying!

I've seen on twitter people comment that, even after uninstalling and reinstalling, still not working!  What's happening people?

Interested in knowing if my data will get lost, I would hate for that to happen

I did not lose my data but the app did continue to crash (iOS)

I have deleted and reinstalled the app. I assume it's the latest version if it's in the app store. My app crashed before and after reinstallation. I had a brief period of it working last night, but other than that  it's been out since yesterday afternoon. It's pretty frustrating.

Waiting on delete and reload for now. May lose all data and not even work!? Hoping another solution will be found.

Hi, I uninstalled and reinstalled and didn’t lose any data, despite the warning! It solved the problem of the app not opening. Good luck.

Same here—I would be majorly upset if I lost months of data.

So they are aware of this issue. I see my fitbit app in the app store but as soon as I hit open, it crashes! It also is not showing up on my computer either.
